  1. Yes it's a known issue with Fuji, not sure if there is a solution
  2. I'd be tempted towards Canon if I wasn't neck deep in fuji. I'd love to go all black magic if I had a bigger crew. I'm getting an OG BM pocket with a 2.8 crop soon ?
  3. GH5 or S is better for 1.8 crop, significantly better internal codec IMHO and cheaper. Better color science and auto focus from Canon of course.
  4. Not a solution to a 1.8x crop tho. In terms of 4k the EOS r is really not in the same league as any of the other companies as it's not really full frame.
  5. You can pop on am external recorder with Sony and problem solved. Where is the Canon solution. That said Sony had been delivering subpar color science for a long time. Probably wouldn't be that hard to do a color firmware update for their mirrorless lines. Every company definitely has setbacks Canons are just very glaring and with other companies at least we see what looks like continuous steady improvement.
  6. Here's what I don't get, they have better sensors, the 1Dx mk2. Why can't their current gen be at least on par in some ways to their older high end cameras.
  7. Would be revolutionary, 10 bit 4k under $1000. I highly doubt it tho
  8. I did love my GH5 for family stuff. IS lenses will take its place on the Fuji system but they aren't quite as stable.
  9. The crop is definitely the biggest reason I think. People would still hate but it would be less.
  10. I actually watched that video I talked to you on Facebook about it briefly.
  11. I was trying to defend you on the emoji thing man. I think the S1 may offer better IBIS but that is yet to be seen. You are right on adapters as the S1 mount is new right now. The Nikon is a heck of a deal at under $2000. For whatever reason the 8 bit codec seems to be pretty strong. I was tempted to buy one myself though I decided against it. If you combine it with an Atomos getting that prores RAW you have a really interesting tool.
  12. Yeah Glidecams offer more control at the expensive of a steeper learning curve. I tried using one for a while but really sucked at it. A nicer gimbal like the Ronin M does offer a lot of control though, really love mine, especially since I got it for under $500. Its not a Glidecam though.
  13. That's true you can be much more in tune with your camera when using IBIS. I love your knowledge of film history though most of it goes right over my head ?
  14. Yeah I shot a whole short with IBIS, definitely a completely different workflow. Though I discovered it couldn't replace a gimbal for walking shots.
  15. Replacing a tripod is one of the strong points of IBIS. Though for really long shots I'd rather use a tripod.
  16. I do like IS, seems better than IBIS on most systems at least for panning.
  17. Weird, good way to get extra focal length I guess. Would be neat if they did a 1.5 crop mode with reduced rolling shutter.
  18. I have no idea what his future budget is. Maybe he is shooting nature. A 70-200 will be limiting even on full frame. Good for some things though.
  19. Reminds me of when I opened up my PC and used a Pedestal fan to keep it cool while rendering a long project. I'm reading in the comments people who attach fans to their small rig cages to keep Sony cameras cool. Lots of Canon hate but this is the dark side of Sony. ?
  20. ? 4k footage looks sharper for sure! At least comparing 4k to HD on the same camera. However lets compare XT3 4k to high quality 1080p like on a C100 and see what the difference is. Why can't they market dynamic range instead or color depth! ?
  21. True although the difference is you can be a youtuber without actually being successful or without any education/low cost. Can't be said for astronauts or firemen. You certainly can get by with a phone camera for many applications, I mean even features have been shot on phones now. However I don't think marketing and selling is always about need. People will buy because they think they need it.
  22. I've heard people speak of certain lenses looking more 3D. I can't say I take much stock in it but I've heard it before. Almost forgot Nikon focuses the other way. I am sure the 4k monitor is not useless but I haven't seen a noticeable difference in detail or color when editing.
  23. Well you can use a full frame lens on APSC and later when you have the money upgrade to a decent full frame camera.
  24. lol not $500 cheap though. I wouldn't think there would be many advantages of buying an old full frame camera over something like the EOS M50, which seems good up to 3200 iso.
