  1. Canon losing its market edge with DPAF would be great.
  2. The zcam will be similar to the GH5s and pocket as they share a similar sensor. The 4k 120fps is nice but it'll be noisy at high ISOs. The GH5S is pretty clean up to 12,800 iso but it's using a lot of NR unlike the pocket.
  3. Yeah there is a crop if you want to shoot in Flog and view it as a film simulation like Eterna. So you either have to get an external recorder that can use a LUT to preview the image or just monitor with Flog in camera, or just deal with the crop.
  4. 1.17 crop for 4k 60p and 1.29 crop in 1080 120p
  5. In terms of the real world the human body and eye does a great job stabilizing and seeing light. But yeah in general I agree. Light is not always flattering without manipulation and a color science that helps deal with the harshness that one might be shooting, can be useful.
  6. Yeah I was directing that comment to the OP. I have been taking that into consideration too, though if its a longer lens its hell to focus at .95 or 1.2. 10mm lens should work great though.
  7. If you are used to shooting with a 2.8 lens a .95 lens gives you 3 more stops of light. That's like going from 3200 iso to 25,000 iso.
  8. Is the chart relevant for video? I am guessing its looking at RAW still image data. The XT3 is number one and the XH1 number 5, but they both look identical to the naked eye.
  9. Yeah you can use a speedbooster with them. The XH1 120fps is not as good as the XT3's. I'd consider the Nikon Z6 it has very nice 120p. I'd say the Nikon Z6, A7III, and Fuji XT3 have the nicest 120p on the market right now. The Pocket has great 120p though its cropped 2.8x The Nikon is a good option. Though if you already have M43 lenses a Pocket 4k would be an easier switch. Just be ready to use NR in post for a clean image at high ISO's.
  10. Yeah it depends how picky you are. If you have high standards like deezid, the A7S2 is a much better choice. btw deezid, have you examined any high ISO footage from the Nikon Z6?
  11. Eh I don't know. A lot of people prefur Fuji color and their aren't even any pro Fuji cine cameras. You could say its just marketing I guess.
  12. Not too far from Northeast but I am living in Michigan. I took the time to record some audio as well rather than slapping on a music track.
  13. Do you need 10 bit? Fuji has nicer color science but the A7III ain't bad, HLG looks pretty nice. When comparing the cameras they'll all capture roughly the same amount of detail on these settings; GH5 3200, XT3 6400, A7III 25,000
  14. Its a successor to the A6300 by number and specs. I mean I think I get what you are saying. If you only had an A6000 or maybe even no Sony at all, the A6400 is quite good. Its a bit dissapointing if you are upgrading from an A6500 or A6300. However it is a camera I'd recommend to people. The auto focus is amazing and it has updated A7III color. Not a bad camera.
  15. Does it have the potential to perform as well as a glidecam I wonder.
  16. Messing around with my XT-3 last night. Used minolta lenses 24mm 2.8 and 135mm 2.8 Shot with Eterna, no color corrections, just a couple curve adjustments here and there.
  17. Is it basically a steadicam or completely different?
  18. If it helps avoid over heating while retaining new features I'm all for it.
  19. It will still be a remarkably good camera for probably $800-$900. A nice contender to the Sony A6400. I am hoping they give the auto focus performance a boost. I doubt 10 bit but that would be sweet.
  20. The A7III and XT3 both seem to capture very accurate colors but they certainly don't look the same color science wise.
  21. Yeah but most of that stuff isn't really tech advancement, just stuff they left out of the 1DX2 presumably to protect their cine line or maybe because its Canon. Again Canon just feels behind, 6 years ago Sony was doing mirrorless full frame, Canon just released a mirrorless full frame body, and it can't do full frame 4k. Panasonic generally updates all of their bodies a new GH, G, and GX and when you look from Camera to camera you generally see pretty large advancements all across the board. I don't that is seen as much with Canon. Same with Sony people like how they just throw top of the line AF in a $900 body. Canon just jumped into mirrorless so they are playing catch up. Will be interesting to see what they put out in the next couple years. Not saying Canon is not a great system, maybe even superior to anything else depending on your work. I am sure the top dogs at Canon have a strategy just like all the other brands. I'm just saying I get why people are salty about them. True although I think we all know Sony will soon release a body that will output 10bit (likely two bodies).
  22. The thing is you'd expect high end from years ago to be the current standard. Its nice Canon is finally getting more serious with mirrorless but people are just salty about having to wait for them to play catch up. At least obsessive hobbyists are salty about it.
  23. Hoping for all those features. I am kind of doubting pana will ever do PDAF tho
  24. Was there a workaround in premiere?
