    That's clean work.  Yours?

I also like the QR plate on the top, which might be the answer I'm looking for to move my mic forward a bit so I can use the viewfinder on my GH5.

I like it a lot. A lot of people are dismissing it in the comments. I think in terms of glare being able to tilt is valuable. Monitors are cool but for certain applications the less bulk the better.

This is better than using V-Log-L?

HLG has smoother tonal transitions. Some claim it has more dynamic range as well.

From what I've seen its a bit harder to grade than Vlog. However you can always use a transform LUT like the Leeming Lut One.

Its definitely a good option if you'd rather not pay for Vlog.

That would be just as illegal as downloading it from a torrent. The torrent at least is free if you're going the illegal way.

I don't think you can torrent a subscription based program. They are making money either way.

Here's another power solution as much mobile as possible.

In conclusion, better than 1300mAh and less expensive than the Patona Premium route, my odds settle down to the usual suspect of nowadays, that is, the renown RAVPower brand with their identical 2000mAh pack offer for 30 pounds to include 2x batteries and the USB dual charger.

That is pretty sweet! I wish more cameras had better inputs and outputs like the pocket.

You and I are fellow NX1 brothers in arms, and I normally agree with you on everything.

But the a6400 is a cracking good camera for the money. Especially as a hybrid. It's a better stills camera than the NX1 or any Fuji camera. I own a X-T3, X-H1 and they have far better ergonomics, but the Sony sensor is better and the Sigma trinity of primes is on par with Fuji's wildly expensive 1.4/1.2s for half or 1/3rd the cost.

I still prefer the NX1/500 for video, and both are great stills cameras. But the a6400 for $900 absolutely wipes the mat with anything Canon or Nikon is doing right now.

Unless you use the electronic shutter. Fuji is doing 30fps RAW on the XT30 with very minimal rolling shutter issues. The sensor may be a bit better in low light and dynamic range but not enough for me to prefer it. Not when the Fuji kills it in video. The auto focus is nice tho.

For all the BM P4K owners - what's the cost to purchase and get the P4K up and running? I like the picture it produces and need to see how this might fit into my master plan.

The Z6 is getting the Eye AF update and I might sell the Z6 if the P4K is available.

Depends on how picky you are.

My OG pocket is pretty similar and I got a monitor/external battery solution I am happy with for around $250. Subtract $150 if you don't need a monitor. If you are going the SSD route thats more expenses, but if you have sandisk cards lying around you may as well use them.

So, what was the consensus here re: GH5S?  Worth it over the GH5?

Owned Gh4 since launch, the focus button at this point has had all its ink rubbed off, and the micro-HDMI port has taken a few tugs... but it's still going strong!

I could probably get rid of it for ~4-500, used GH5 on ebay is around 1100.  GH5S are 1700ish.

Often record Prores to external PIX-E5.  Mostly do web content, but wondering if jumping up to EVA1 or that bracket is worthwhile as well...

If you need the lowlight capabilities definitely. I think the GH5S sensor yields slightly nicer color. That said the GH5 captures more detail with its 6k sensor and of course you get IBIS if they is your thing.

I'd choose the Pocket 4k over either. But I am in love with prores and RAW output.

edit: the difference between 4k and 1080p on youtube on my 1080p TV is huge. of course i notice it!

that being said, you need to have an objective idea of the resolving power of a grid of pixels... whether its 2k, 4k, whatever, theres a high end limit to the detail in an image at a given resolution, and MOST cameras dont approach that in any mode whatsoever, so its kind of an abstract comparison ?

an analogy: my 5d3 shoots ~soft~ stills, to me. pleasantly soft, dreamy stills at 22 megapixels, compared to the *actual resolving power* of that 5760x3840 grid, right? other manufacturers have razor sharp images at 100%, in comparison, at the same spatial resolution. thats a matter of taste, but to think that 22 megapixels = my camera is of course retarded

Youtube is not a good way to compare 1080 to 4k.

  9. I can't really tell a difference unless cropping in. I never crop in so its pretty useless for me to be honest.

Only makes a difference on youtube due to Youtube's weird compression. But you can just upscale your 1080 to 4k and it looks good.

@Emanuel yes the 5D mkIII is an exception because it uses pixel binning, I meant most of the other Canon dslrs that shoot 1080p with line skipping. From my experience they're worse than the bmpcc.

Yeah the OG Pocket has moire which is more apparent in RAW. Probably not as bad as the 5D, but its definitely there. The URSA mini 4.6k has it too.

It is like Steven Soderbergh that shoots all his stuff now on an iPhone. Does that mean he is right. No, I think he is crazy as bat shit for doing it, and I am a iPhone fan. Dark is dark I don't give a shit how artistic the director thinks it is. Sounds like he is bat shit crazy also. Some people on here sound pretty much like Sheeple to me. If it ain't worth a fuck I don't give a fuck who filmed, or directed it, it is still shit..

I think its just a publicity stunt.

I wouldn't hold your breath that Resolve uses it.

Resolve maybe not because they want people to use their own cameras. Would be kind of a bitch move though.

Though I'd be cool recording in Prores RAW and transcoding to regular prores in post. It would still be beneficial especially if you transcode to prores 444.
