  1. sorry cant help you, cant even say i have heard anything in the facebook p4k group either. There was some talk a month or so ago on the forum about blue sky banding. However myself and a few others couldn't replicate the issue and i haven't heard anymore about it. What other info do you have ?

    bmp4k adventures

still on a slight detour, i'm pleased to say, it lives. final pieces purchased and connected up. This is one project nearly completed apart from cutting a slot in the housing for the connector to slide through as i'm unimpressed with the stresses placed upon the cable as you weave it through the housing as intended. you might notice a slight vignette from the letus anamorphic on the super wide setting. Have to look into that some more, earlier playing with defishing and stretching didn't seem so obvious. the battery is greatly increased i think. no test yet but i imagine a timelapse will last a good long time.
  3. So your using the museum strategy right ?
  4. Ah ha, so the single soviet lens challenge was a ploy.... very sneaky kye ? i guess im old school. I first bought a microprism screen for my canon and a couple of pentax m42 mounts as m42 seemed the easiest to adapt. After that i figured i may as well get the whole set ?. Within the m42 range of lenses some are more popular than others. Most were quite reasonably priced, the 85mm is the dearest i have bought so far. I must be in the leaky boat next to @noone and with the aussie $ acting like a submarine stuff gets pretty expensive quickly here in aus. I would like to round out the collection with the 20mm, i think the 17mm might be a bridge too far for me. About the time i got the 85mm along came the p4k with the crop factor every lens suddenly becomes a telephoto, i have mitigated that with the addition of a villtrox speedbooster which has yet to arrive. I'll play with that for awhile and see how it goes. I'm still tempted by a metabones 0.64 but it will have to wait for awhile while i see how the villtrox performs and allow some time for the $ to accumulate.
  5. are you in britain and the eu have started running blockades ? ? that must be pretty embarrassing for bmd to still be so far behind the eight ball. Talk on the facebook page seems to have died down. i thought bmd must have been shipping more units. To be honest i haven't really tried to keep up on whats happening since receiving mine not thats any consolation to you.
  6. you know, i think there's the potential for the ultimate video challenge in here. One of those self produced underground guerilla indie one man band or in your case (women) thingies. We could start a movement. We could rule the world. OK ruling the world might be abit ambitious we could probably leave that off the agenda, till next month ? kaylee i seriously doubt there's a career in it, for me anyway .? this is more like an exploratory journey, tying off a whole bunch of loose ends and learning a bunch of new things in the process. Mercer's making a movie. Kevin mcCloud built an off grid house. The skies the limit, i tells you (even then maybe not, if you can make enough of your own rocket candy but i digress) ? Besides i seem to be accumulating alot of gear lately. The idea of a new shed to keep it all safe from the elements and will double as a set is extremely intoxicating, and to be honest the bedrooms getting a little cluttered i might have to start a blog, total video production for the totally inexperienced. Hmm i wonder if bucket list productions is taken ?
  7. AH melancholy... for me at the moment its been martika, toy soldiers. It plays on my mind alot, so much so that i even have a rough draft for a video. I have to flesh it out abit more and build a set. Ironfilms will get a giggle out of this, but i was inspired by dave dobbyns loyal video in which the whole thing is one take. Not sure how many videos are one take but considering that it was made in 1988, it made an impression i guess...

i went to the voigtlander website didn't learn much. I guess you could say their website is efficient ? here is a wikipedia link for voigtlander https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosina_Voigtl%C3%A4nder#35mm_SLR_lenses_(SL_II_series) much more readable info in the form of charts and text, for me anyway maybe its the way i learn ?

i googled it, found a few videos on it. Here is one vid that might give you some idea of how bad it is or whether you could live with it or not https://youtu.be/uGLx5plyZg0 . Talk about the blue spot starts just after halfway. Since i plan on using it with anamorphic lenses i hope that it either gets hidden in the lens flares or compliments the lens flares but thats my enthusiastic newbie attitude talking ? time will tell

i have no idea if voightlander are are available in ef mount. I presume since they are in mft mount then they are native lenses for smaller chip sizes. Ef is full frame is it not ? Hopefully someone can chime in and prove me wrong. character and elegant rendering are two very subjective terms, what appeals to me and what appeals to you, can be very different things. If you haven't already you should make an effort to read the 248 pages on this thread plenty of advice and pictures to help you. If you could tell us what you like to film then some of the others could point you in the right direction no doubt

ok my tax return has come in. I have been looking at the zhongyi lens turbo 2. I cant remember who suggested it, was mostly i was interested because someone mentioned that the threading was a little deeper which allowed a wider range of lenses but that may have been for the m42 to mft mount. i would probably get the ef mount i think then adapt the lenses to that. Pretty confident that i have no issues with the m42 lenses that i have adapted so far to ef that i used with canon 60d previously. One other thing that caught my attention was the fact that shooting into the sun or a lamp a blue flare will occur, which is a problem considering that i'm actually after the flares and such for my anamorphic setup. Any advice, is it going to be a real problem ? Blue spot will occur if lens is shot to sunlight or lamp directly. taken from the ebay listing. Thanks for any thoughts.
  13. That's an interesting idea I'm going to have to try it and see if it can makes things any easier. pretty sure I have seen the short too
  14. I have a lens and it's coming from Russia so you can't say it's not Russian. Thought about the 85mm but I have the Pentax 85mm 1.9 so I wasn't keen to get another. got something else something a little different a little out there I hope.

i for one, like your putrid images, more substance than the say the girls on film thread. but each to their own i guess. by all means people should post a few images from new lenses that are acquired, but maybe start a thread if its to be an ongoing exercise. its nice too hear about a nice lens somebody has used but proof of the pudding is in the seeing i think.
  16. what is this might business ?. if my tax return comes in and the stars align i hope to have an 0.64 metabones speedbooster to throw into the mix as well. i know that there are plenty of 0.71 available but im holding out for a 0.64.
  17. I feel like an intruder perhaps going to a reduser.net site. Like I should put on some Ppe gear ? in case I catch something. The 85mm is tempting then I could do the anamorphic thing again. I was looking at something Russian but couldn't seem to find an adapter for it. So I'll keep searching
  18. hey, i resemble that remark , anyway i need all the help i can get ?
  19. with eoshd i thought it was open season on cameras ?
  20. lucky my tax return is on the way i guess i can find something in the time allotted. So count me in.
  21. pardon my ignorance, why not shoot 4k or 6k and downscale to 480. Throw it open to everyone, those that are going to be involved will be involved for the rest it will be a spectator sport, nothing new there ? but it may as well include some form of holy grail challenge otherwise i wont learn anything?
  22. wasted sounds a bit severe, considering there is not that many other options and none of them are cheap. Perhaps you should look at like joining an elite club, only certain members get in and the riff raff stays outside ?
  23. tito probably could do the math in his sleep, maybe he'll poke his head in otherwise google tito and anamorphic i'm sure there might be something on his website '

    Girls on film

not sure thats a valid statement for you to make, kaylee will gut you like a fish if your not careful. i have heard...... if you have to ask the price, its too expensive. they say there are two certainties in life, death and taxes. But i believe there are two other constants as well... If it has wheels or it wears a dress, it will cost you money ?
  25. on the upside you can at least boil and eat a potato. While lots of cameras do get roasted on the forum from time to time i have yet to hear of someone actually eating one ?
