  1. what do you call, at a distance ? 1m, 10m, 100m
  2. regardless of lens or not how exactly did you come up with this novel approach ? 😲
  3. is this the voice of experience speaking ? cause i'm sure i'm not the only one, who would require proof of said experiment 😎
  4. thumbs up, heart0less your all over it. But i think i will have a play with mine anyway for my own personal knowledge
  5. there was another similar topic a little while ago. Someone was looking at using the camera phone anamorphics in front of their lens no idea how it went. i have the letus anamorphic for gopro. It screws to the gopro 4 housing. Whoever made the post thought the letus had the widest opening amongst the camera phone anamorphics if i remember correctly. If i can find my digital calipers i will measure it up i might even find the tv remote if i'm really lucky 🙄. At the moment if i run a tape across the top i measure a 22mm opening. how that would vignette i am not really sure. for posterity, i could cobble something together but that wont happen today.
  6. I would think any camera lens is not going to do well after falling from a height onto the ground, not just edmika's Is the edmika a mount or rehoused lens ? cant say i know much about them Not sure i'd give up on the fd glass so soon, Maybe search around for another edmika, but that may take awhile to find. Or maybe go to another 2nd hand camera body that easily adapts to fd glass. There's always the chance that another edmika mount may be tighter or looser. Depending on how keen you are maybe get a new part machined depending on whats broken but machining is generally not cheap
  7. c'mon already we are all waiting with bated breath 😃
  8. i tend to think so long as their registered resellers, then the cheapest store is the best, thats the path i went down when i procured the p4k no idea how things will progress , our government is already throwing tremendous amounts of money around. They may need to throw some at the nbn if we all get stuck at home for too long. i saw an interview with some expert saying then nbn is quite robust and will handle the situtation kinda like what they were saying at the start of this outbreak How to recoup money spent on hardware is an issue maybe you can write it of on your tax perhaps.
  9. 6. Joined about halfway through 2018 i think. Not sure if there are other video forums around. I googled anamorphics. This was the first video forum i found, haven't bothered to look elsewhere yet. 5. Not my words, but it does sum it up rather nicely. I love a sunburnt country, A land of sweeping plains, Of ragged mountain ranges, Of droughts and flooding rains. I love her far horizons, I love her jewel-sea, Her beauty and her terror, The wide brown land for me! 4. I'd like to see more people participate in the video challenges.Their kinda fun and every time i get involved, i tend to learn some thing new in resolve or on the p4k. I also enjoy seeing other peoples direction or take on things Not sure i am looking forward to the next great camera. I kinda feel that now i am 4k capable, in many ways i'm ahead of the curve. Its up to the tv stations and internet to catch up and i cant see them throwing themselves at the problem. I think hd will probably be a standard for a long time yet, at least in australia. 3. Definitely 80's music, by the end of the eighties all the good notes had been used up i think The only concert i have seen was the black sorrows at twin towns. It was great and loud. Movie wise, the usual suspects, topgun, beverly hills cop, miami vice, good movies, good soundtracks. Movies that i liked but didn't do so good at the box office, the princess bride, brotherhood of the wolfand anything with jackie chan in it I'm a fan of sport up to the point of where it gets commercialized. When you start throwing large sums of money around then you can't really call it sport anymore. Not sure what you call it but its not sport. I'd rather watch torvell and dean, than two teams crash tackle each other into the ground. 2. typical aussie bloke, pretty casual attitude. presently aged 52. I probably need to structure my content more, not sure if it shows in my videos or not. 🙄 About the time i got the p4k i became a carer for my dad. Going from fulltime worker to a carers pension has been interesting. Sounds kinda corny but i bought an artists sized sketchpad, been doodling and putting down some thoughts for a music video and a movie. I tend to float between various projects rather trying to multitask. I really like the wide screen look of anamorphics. Had some issues with headaches last month or so, done some tests not sure what goes on but they seem to have settled down a bit but its left me depleted. When i can find some enthusiasm i plan on playing some more with the elmoscope even if it is dual focus at the moment. Its definitely pre corona virus, if you were wondering 1. There can only be one, and for me its the bmd p4k. Lenses are currently attached via the viltrox speedbooseter, either an asortment of pentax m42 lenses or the tokina atx pro 28-70 zoom. 😉
  10. well a p4k for starters 😉
  11. i have been watching jeff dunham, the guy that does ackmed the dead terrorist, he's done a 3 part live stream of a new puppet. Which has been interesting i thought. I think perhaps some people do it better than others. I dont mind a few inconsistencies, as i figure i'd be at the same level or worse, but if its consistently annoying then i'll give it the heave ho. If you have done it for a living i can see how it would be grow annoying pretty quickly. I bet the only companies making money would be internet providers, netflix and youtube at the moment. I'd prepare for an influx of " new content " with everyone at home, its either that or go stir crazy in some respects. Presuming total lockdown is a few days away or maybe a week, i went for a drive to a larger town today and bought a meat smoker. I figure there's not much i got control over at the moment, but at least i can control the bbq. I didnt get a wood chips as i live in an orchard growing area and i have already sourced all the plum, apricot, pear limbs i can use. Your all welcome, just bring a mask and your own potato salad. 😁
  12. your not alone .... i have forgot to insert a card into the pk4 precisely once so far 🙄
  13. not sure if any of you are fans of mathieu stern or not but hes made a post of catching corona virus https://www.youtube.com/post/Ugx-UnHlWbhoKY5w7KF4AaABCQ
  14. not much would change, maybe they will turn the lights off, but noone has L series glass so the picture might be a bit darker perhaps 😉
  15. nice work... grimor must be the cop with the head cam on the right 😀
  16. china is already slaughtering pigs in untold numbers which is another issue altogether its now spread to asia and other areas no doubt it will be a big issue if it or when it gets into australia. I think china's mentality has to change, its no longer cool to raise a bunch of pigs or other animals under the house where you live. While i am sure there are lots of serious farm endevours, there are many backyards that you could reach out the window and scratch a pigs back, that aint good for hygiene. landline a popular tv show here in aus had footage of pigs dead or dying being dragged out from under houses into the street and people wonder why diseases are spreading. I do think they need to lift their animal hygiene standard several levels at least. The only good thing that may come out of this is that the government and industry recognizing that sending everything off shore to be manufactured is no as bright as they thought as it leaves us open to all sorts of problems. No idea if corona virus is accidental or intentional. But i do think if there are any more "outbreaks" from there we should ban them from playing with the rest of us for twenty years or so. we did alright before china came along we can do alright without them.
  17. i expect communications, netflix and tv stations to be the big winners out of this. If the internet breaks with the sudden influx from the corona virus then you'll probably see some pandemonium. the younger generation and some of the not so younger gen cant seem to live with out their devices. Although i kinda feel the same way if i cant get a coffee in the morning 😉 I remember a talk from an older pastor years ago about the 1919 flu in melbourne people died, and thats tragic in it own way, the other problem was there wasn't enough strong or well men left to bury the dead. i'm not so sure people will respect more our basic needs and resources.. qld got rid of single use plastic bags which got replaced with stronger plastic bags that you bought for a dollar. So instead of supermarkets giving away free plastic bags when you shop, you now pay for a plastic bag. Not sure that counts as a win for the environment or the supermarket. Six of one thing, half a dozen of another . Some people use their own or bought fabric bags. they should of probably banned all plastic bags and been done with it. However if you use a fabric bag every few days to carry food those bags should probably be washed weekly for hygiene reasons. I wonder how many do that, i haven't lol. I worry that the cheap fabric bags wouldn't stand up to many washes anyway. Another thing is, we now get ten cents for most cans and bottles i'd collect all the bottles and cans from various bins around the factory and in the street to where i parked my car which was always some distance away from the factory it nearly payed for my fuel weekly, my point being if i'm collecting that much then there's truckloads more people out there that simply dont care. So if most people cant care about the little things its no surprise they dont have a clue about the bigger things either. Too many are making the mistake of thinking freedom is a right to do whatever you like whenever you like. Freedom to be an idiot or a danger to others is not a freedom at all, I'm not the least bit concerned if a few of those type got themselves culled, the problem is alot of innocents will get taken out as well.
  18. beat me too it by an hour 😃
  19. or the americas cup, but we got there first 😉
  20. you know i was only thinking a few minutes ago of how to take advantage of the situation. I wonder if there is any merit in shooting some video of empty streets or highways, parks as it would make removing people or cars from said footage much easier and a safer workplace at the moment in some instances i think. Of course you'd still need to obey the laws. but it would bring whole new level to guerilla film making perhaps. Maybe in the future the stock footage would be worth something in a post corona virus environment We can always throw @BTM_Pix out in front to lure potential trouble away 😉 he seems like a magnet for interesting people.
  21. well... i think most of us would assume it was audio based coming from you 😀 the world will really know its in trouble after you post about a camera 😉
  22. your drone has robotic arms why am i not supprised 🙄
  23. be aware you would then owe grimor a favor 😲
  24. lol , yeah i figured he'd have a poke at it, if it was down at his level. I put two gopros down at each end of the hall and lounge. Sound was a bit muffled, i should have hooked up the rode mic but then that might have put the cat off. In hindsight i should have swapped the cameras and had the gopro with a mike near the lounge. Since neither of the gopros were in housings i thought the sound would have come through better. That is the cats normal exercise regime in the morning and he is a dead set ninja on carpet, not much gets past him, but it does get interesting when he hits the cork 😉 He does have some other toys, If i do it again i'll try it with the p4k and apply some of the things i learned. This was a quick and pretty ordinary effort but i did learn a few things and the other thing i wanted to do was lighten peoples moods a little.
  25. its silly to say its the governments fault, to hold them accountable for every little thing. People have brains, its up to people to exercise them and not require the government to do all the thinking for them. Regardless of which party is in power and where, none have been preparing for a pandemic. We have had sars, mers, bird flu, swine influenza, ebola outbreaks, half a dozen movies on various contagions, and the zombie apocalypse (er..... another movie reference ) yet no one has prepared. Most likely because there's like a 1% chance of an outbreak considering everything else thats been going on in the world. Yet it looks like someone just rolled a 1. As i see it, if your not a Christian the best anyone can do is ride it out, otherwise start praying if you haven't already. Now i know god isn't a popular topic but i think we should keep all options on the table 😉 feel free to flame away i can handle it. i do have one other issue and i dont really want to appear as i'm picking on you mr reid, however i'm a bit disappointed that you chose to lock kyes screw buying new cameras thread, rather than shift it to the lenses forum, i feel kye put a fair bit of effort into that thread not to mention others contributions and its a bit disheartening to see it locked away.
