Yeah, +1 for the c100. It really is (still) a fantastic camera. It may not sound as appealing as some of the newer cameras on specs alone but it's one of the easiest you'll ever use.

Blue Ruin (2013) was shot on the c300, which shares the same sensor as the c100... and it looks great!

bro, this is the best advice ever, people told this to me, and i resisted, but im so glad i listened:
dont start with a feature doc, or a feature feature, or anything like that. start with a SHORT film no longer than 15 min.
the amount of storage space you have doesnt matter if your footage is useless garbage.
additionally, you may find that an elaborate video timeline taxes your system more than youre used to – be aware of that as well

The Z6 is full readout with no line skipping or pixel binning. You are thinking of the Z7 which does do that.
The downsides are poor RS, external Log only and it appears the AF becomes unusable with Log on.
So yeah there still is no perfect hybrid mirrorless for video today. Maybe next gen Canon/Nikon/Sony..

Snowbro reacted to Kisaha in Why So Many Canadians Do Photo/Video For A Living?
I believe the reasons are socio-political.
Canada is one of the most progressive societies on the planet, so there is freedom of speech and expression, and self determination.
Also it is the most "European" of the new world countries (Canada,US,NZ,AUD) so it has a bigger influence on other countries, and also is open to receive influence.
I have a friend there that has done 2-3 documentaries in his whole life, and somehow he survives as a "director", with only a very limited portfolio of other paid jobs.
Also, they have a lot of free time, not the wildest capitalism over there, high salaries that can afford the newest and best of equipment, they are very digital literate, a lot of Hollywood and video gaming productions and obviously match more your profile, so you fell on them all the time!
I am sure there are Hindus, Chinese, Korean and Japanese with a lot more social media power, but we may never know anything about them.

It is funny that most people going from here, to the general audiences, like DPR and youtube posts. EosHD seems like the college of Visual Internet Debate!

Go out the house and shoot, then you will see the real difference between FHD and 4K. You know what, even a whole room shoot inside the house will show it.

I'll have to dig through the Nikon z6 thread. I saw something from DPreview about the Z6 4K looking better then the Z7 and the Z6 1080 having more sharpening.

Canon 1DX2 is still the only FF camera that can do 4k60p in early 2019. Fact.
Dual Pixel AF is still the most reliable AF for video. Fact.
Sony has been maxing out 8-bit 100mb codecs for some years. that's another fact.
XT3 doesn't have IBIS. It's the smallest camera of the pack. Still got number 1 position in the ranking. Fact.

I think because other cameras still haven't caught up. You'd expect cameras now to be doing the same thing for cheaper.

That was my issue a few pages back, the Fuji LUTS almost think that the Log is flatter than it is. Those new Arri Luts are king currently tho.
Been making 3 nodes with it. 1. Flog to LogC - 2. (corrections) 3. LogC to 709. Amazing results.

Oh I am not suggesting it was exposed wrong. Most cameras work on Contrast detection for AF and there is very little in a normal Log. Contrast and Saturation is 2 things you have to add in post.

If it is purely for product shots then I think you might want to consider a couple of cheap and cheerful non-camera items that might get you where you need to be irrespective of the particular camera that you shoot with.
First up if you were looking for 360 views of the product would be a simple motorised turntable such as this one. There are numerous ones like this on Amazon for under £30.
If you wanted to go for something to keep the product still but move the camera around it then you might want to consider the GripGear MovieMaker 2 set.
It is a combination of motorised multi-speed slider and lifter, panning head and skate dolly with remote control that can support up to 750g cameras and is usually available for just over £100.
The versatility it offers is great and as long as you aren't expecting to put heavy loads on it then it performs really well and is certainly a lot of bang for the buck.
This is a video of it against the five times more expensive Edelkrone unit and whilst it is obviously not as sophisticated it doesn't disgrace itself in terms of performance.
If you wanted just the motorised skater dolly part of the GripGear then for around £50 you might consider the newer versions of the Yelangu/Andoer L4.
The original version was quite a neat little product but the new version has the advantage of remote control and adjustable speed.
As with the GripGear dolly you adjust the axles to control the arc that it travels on around the product but you can also straighten them to do a straight line and can also mount it on a regular slider.

As I say, with those options, the question of which camera to choose becomes less of an issue as they will enable you to get product shots with nice production values even from a smartphone.
If I was looking for a camera to go with these purely for product photography then I think I might be inclined to go for something like a Panasonic LX100 as it is the right sort of size/weight to best utilise them, has a great built in lens and whilst it lacks IBIS, its stabilisation will be more than adequate as it is mounted on the slider/dolly. It can also do 60fps in 1080 which will be useful when shooting longer shots of smaller objects etc
It can also of course be remote controlled (including the zoom) from the Panasonic app which will be a boon for setup.
Now that the mark II of the LX100 is out, the original version is popping up used at around £300 so with something like that and the GripGear set you are getting a lot of capability for £400.
