I am all waiting for Viltrox 1.4 primes, if they are OK in terms of quality and AF I will most likely grab them along with XT-4. I don't need them to be the sharpest ever or something, just good enough. In terms of price and weight they are already very good judjing from published specs. Slapping 23 1.4 with XT-4 on a gimbal should be a very pleasant experience.

Same here. X-H2 with integrated grip will be a no-buy for me. Too bulky. There is just no point of sticking to APC-S for such a bulky camera for me.

I am very sad for 30min recording limit in 24-30p of any resolution. No promised wdr mode too.
- Sharathc47 and IronFilm

I personally dont have a problem with owning 2 cameras so if XH2 with better video specs will come out I will probably get it along XT4 and use both. For now XT4 should suffice my needs but I am still waiting for those final specs specially a WDR mode with 13.5 DR stops Androidlad was talking about. Really hope to see it.

They need to sort out their AF on all of their upcoming cameras, or they will fail. That should be like number #1 priority to them.

It's taking too long. Lots of ppl might jump tp XT4 or start thinking about going back to Canon. Panasonic should strike back sooner than that. And they need PDAF 😏

Does anybody know any analytics tools to find for example - most popular videos on YT right now, most popular searches, etc? To see the trends.

So yeah, if you have not been to Cappadocia, it should be on your list. At lease you should've heard about it. Amazing place. Handheld GH5 Sigma 18-35 through all the video plus some drone shots. I went for a slow tranquil video along with the music.

Why would it be a problem? The only problem is getting a wider than 28mm lens (zoom or not) cos you get a nasty wobble/edge warping effect on Panasonic IBIS cameras. So don't go ultrawide angle.

As much as I'm not a fan of (imo misguided) Phoenix' acceptance speech, this sort of argument is ridiculous. Ignoratio elenchi. Because he failed to mention specific injustices his entire point is diminished? C'mon. If you don't like what he's doing, just say so.
OK, find some interviews with him. Does he ever mentions this problem anywhere? Noup. He doesn't. It's not a PC topic. And he never will. He only speaks about currently popular trends without any knowledge of how they are actually represented in real life around the world besides some Hollywood sentimental cliché of oppressed blacks and jews.

This constant shaming of talented hard working creative people for being white males has gotta stop.
In a 50 years. Give or take.

What racism is he talking about? Did he say a word about what's going on South Africa right now? Where "kill the boar" is the official policy of the government. Than he probably better shut the fuck up cos this all hypocrisy and populism.
Thank your agent, your God and fuck off. (c)

Switch to Fuji XT4 if it is as good as we all hope. Maybe get two of them. Ditch Panasonic.
Get a new drone, don't know which one yet. Current one - Anafi.

Kind of. The real supporters of the m4/3 format are Panasonic and Olympus - all the others (Blackmagic included) are very niche.
From Panasonic, I clearly see a GH6 on the horizon, but not much more - there are rumors of a GX10, but as a minor update. Olympus just repackaged the E-M1 II in a smaller body to make the E-M5 MK III, and rumors says that the same sensor will be used for the E-M1 MK III.
M4/3 evolution is dependant nowadays on Sony to evolve on sensors. Olympus is struggling financially to evolve their platforms (if the E-M1 MK III still use the same chipset, will be a VERY bad sign). Panasonic could repurpose the tech developed for the L cameras to m4/3, but don't see much intention to do it - everyone (except Fuji) is pushing full frame, better margins on bodies and (especially) lenses.
As I said, I love my m4/3 gear, it fullfills almost all that I need (except low light - my dream camera is a proper GX body with IBIS and the GH5s internals). And I think that m4/3 will be a viable format for video for a good amount of time - but maybe not for stills, where the sales volumes are. And don't want to end with a bunch of bodies and lenses with very deprecated values in a phase out, like was with 4/3 users.
And Fuji is doing a lot of things right. Have bodies and lenses with the same or a little more size and weight than m4/3 (for people, like me, that likes compact gear). In two generations jumped from some of the worst video tech for some of the best. Is (maybe) the only manufacturer that their bodies frequently surpasses expectations in specifications. Their prices are competitive. IBIS was the last barrier for me (I use a lot of vintage lenses), maybe they will be my future.Very similar thoughts here. MFT needs some series news sensor tech to stay relevant and the only major sensor player (Sony) doesnt seem to care much. Fuji is doing a lot of things right lately. I just want to see GH6 and A7SIII specs but mostly will get either XT4 or GH6 (only if it has PDAF - that's a must have condition). XT4 seems to be a very good option either way.

That's not enough to efficiently compete with the rest of the market. They need some other breakthrough features like build-in nd (#1 priority), improved IBIS, 4K120P, faster wifi for better image transmission, etc.

- Potentially 6K/60p 10bit
- Anamorphic mode
- Fully articulated screen like S1H
- IBIS
- Represents merging of X-H1 and X-T3 line
- Basically an X-H2
- LCD top panel
- Bigger grip and more rugged body like X-H1
- All new battery typeSounds really good. I am eagerly waiting for X-T4 announcement.
Viltrox 1.4 primes are coming on time as well.
Will get a 350$ Fringer adapter for my Sigma 18-35 as a main lens probably. AFC works very good on XT-3 with it already.

That doesn't make any sense to me. FujiFilm and Nikon are just as much a competitor with Sony Alpha as Panasonic.
What is Panasonic offering us (and competing with Sony with) that Fujifilm doesn't? Fuji and Panny both have 4K 60p cameras. They both offer 10-bit recording modes. They both have competent color science. They both compete with Sony's A7 series of cameras. Why sell PDAF to Nikon, a proven household name in quality cameras, with it's FF Z6 & Z7 which is a direct competitor to the A73 and the A7R3 when it was released!
Why let any other competitor have PDAF? They could refuse to sell/license it to anybody and force them all to contrast AF and compete only with Canon.
No. There is something much more to the story that probably stems from weird contorted patent deals or technology partnerships that Panasonic just happened not to be a partner too. Either that or Panasonic slept with Sony Alphas mom or something.
Hopefully someday there will be a documentary about this market for us camera nerds. Kinda weird and mysterious and cloak and dagger. @Andrew Reid when can we expect this? 😁
I agree with your logic. It is an illogical thing to do in terms of business, like personal vengeance. All companies forget about competition when they can make money with each other. Look at Apple using Samsung tech. Yes Samsung can mock them as much as they want in their commercials but at the end of the day they will perfectly supply one another with tech and make profit.

The 18-35 is almost parafocal, at least the one I have... zoom outs are no problem, zoom ins... stopped down a little that works too.
Please sigma, don‘t listen to him. You have been there, in that dark area when people only bought your lenses for budget reasons. The art lenses are the best thing sigma ever did. Sure, they come at a wheight. But they perform equal to lenses 2-3 times more expensive. Let other brands cover that cheaper, less sharp segment...
I am all up for more lenses covering different segments. Let Sigma do more premium builds and Tamron per se go for a lighter and more compact ones. I am OK with Sigma 18-35 price but I want something lighter for sure.

The weight of 23 1.4 and 33 1.4 should be 270 grams while 56 1.4 expected to be 290 grams. So, based on its weight we can expect them to be quite compact.
