I hated the A7iii ergos. I was one of the lucky ones to get that camera when it first hit the market and was back ordered for months. I sold it after 3 weeks.
My perfect camera would be a Olympus body  with a Panasonic menu system and GH level video specs with 10-bit Olympus colors. Especially with PDAF with tracking. If only Olympus would up their video offerings even just a little it would be more compelling for me to switch. I consider the Oly 12-100 f4 one of the best all-around lenses ever made. If someone told me I could only bring one lens and didn’t specify what I would be shooting I would put that lens in my bag.
I’ve briefly used a EM1X in store. It felt really solid in the hand. Didn’t feel bulky, really. IBIS was amazing. Really wish it had 4K60 and 10-bit . Maybe a firmware update 🤞
My current camera is the GH5S. I like it. Buttons are placed well for my hands. Dedicate WB button. Spin dial for ISO. Lots of function buttons left side, right, top, and front. I wish the grip was a bit deeper, like the EM1 style. The image can be really good. VFR over 60p is rubbish. Horrible horizontal noise. Really disappointed in it in that respect it. I do miss IBIS, a lot.
Probably going to buy EM1.3 when it drops in price a bit more.

    Γεια σου πατριώτη!
Nice footage! You're not supposed to decompress anything on a fake anamorphic recording though. It's still square pixels. So when you shoot with Magic Lantern, you should not tell it that it's anamorphic recording, but rather normal recording. Then it will appear correctly when editing.
Here is mine from today (Canon M50, Helios 44-2, Viltrox Speedbooster, Vid-Atlantic anamorphic aperture filter). I also have a modded Helios 44-2 (that doesn't require the Vid-Atlantic filter to get anamorphic bokeh) in the mail, coming soon:

@Brother great test that confirms what I’ve noticed in the previews - cancelled my preorder. I really hope they can fix this with firmware, otherwise the X-T3 seems like a bargain. Nice to hear about the (good) heat managment as well. Heja Sverige

Yes about the same as GH5 for low light, maybe a bit better. It's a superb shot-getter. But X-T4 is also a gem of a camera. I'd go with either over a Blackmagic Pocket.
He should try the IBIS boost mode as well. This adds a small crop but makes the stabilisation more effective in video mode.

I don't expect gimbal results, i don't even expect GH5 results. I expect a sensor that isn't jumping around for no good reason.
For sure, knocking a camera around will introduce jumps in the very best of sensor stabilization units. But doing smooth movements like i did should yield better results.

They do need to smooth out those sudden jumps somehow, but I can't help feeling if you knock a camera, be it a Sony, Fuji or Panasonic with IBIS, they are all going to do the same thing?
    I'll do an IBIS round-up.
Got a feeling Olympus E-M1X will come out top.

Got mine yesterday so haven't had the time to do a proper test but Fuji IBIS is still weird. Included some shots of it in a video. It's like the software locks on to something and then realizes the camera is still moving and compensates by moving the sensor with a quick jump. Contacted Fuji about this and they said it was the first time they heard about it, strange... Did test the overheating, 3 x 30 min 4k 50p h265 200mbps was not a problem in a 22 degree room.

Did  ANYONE said that?       What people ARE saying is that GOOD colour is subjective.      As for ACCURATE colour, well that is an ENTIRELY different argument and to me (my OPINION) the cameras with the most ACCURATE colour that I have used (accurate to what I saw when using them and not grading) was Sony and Canon has been close to the LEAST accurate (especially since people seem to like vivid colours from Canon..I pretty much always put lower Canon cameras into vivid mode) though no camera has had BAD colour.
I keep looking for high end colourists saying what you have been but can not seem to find any.
Lastly, I find it funny you say you think people should use what they want, then  in the next breath putting down their choices.

You can’t be taken serious. I owned the S1 for a stint and was amazed at how good the IBIS was, and of all the MILCs I’ve had my hands on the build quality of that camera is a thing of beauty. With the full V-LOG the color science is amazing, I much prefer it to both the Fuji and the Canon
Really hope Canon does well with the IBIS, but seeing how this is their first attempt I’m not holding my breath. Just look at how Fuji cocked up the XT4, which has a smaller sensor.  And motion cadence, LOL

Colour is subjective (I actually prefer Panasonic colour science since EVA, S1 etc), the rest of these you're just guessing, IBIS and DR of the S1, SH1 are going to be hard to beat.
Hope you're right as progress benefits all of us but your Canon love in and trashing of the BM Pocket is a little OTT

Its not just the processor that needs cooling. Reading out a large sensor in 8k at 30+fps will heat that sensor up...big time. Its going to suck amps galore and get really hot. Sony often clocks their sensor readouts down to keep them cooler in small passive Alpha bodies. A fast clocked 15 millisecond readout in 8k 30p....in a passive cooled body?...no damn way!!!  That sensor will be clocked at 35-45 milliseconds and will jello-o like crazy. Even THEN,  it's still going to get hot. I'm betting on 8k clips no longer than 5 min and a required cool down in between clips. 4k?....be ready for pixel binning/line skipping and a forced 29 minute recording limit. You guys wait and see....the "Canon Cripple Hammer" is alive and well. They have to also make the Cine EOS managers happy too.
And please.....nobody tell me; "Canon Cine EOS managers have ZERO concern for anything that an R5 has to offer"  or "The R5 doesn't compete with the C200 or C300 so Cine EOS managers don't even pay attention to the R5 because they are two different markets"
Oh...they care and the have a lot to say about how the R5 should be "properly" crippled.

Not good. So similar to the A7III. But slightly better than the EOS R and 1DX III’s awful 30ms.
I think 20ms is the upper limit at which one wouldn’t notice it too much. The pocket 6K was generally fine.
16ms seems like the standard number at which rolling shutter is fairly controlled. But most of those cameras at that number are not full frame and obviously not 8K.
I hope the R6 does better.

Maybe, but what kind of rolling shutter will we be seeing in 4K 24/25p? That’s more important to most of us, I believe.
I was really disappointed with the 1dx III in 4K and 5,5k at 24p. It’s worse than the Sony A*000.
And I’m m certain the R6 with the 20mpx sensor won’t Be any better than the 1dxIII in that regard.

This represents the type of comments I will come back to when the misty eyed corona pandemic induced haze of wishful thinking goes away.
Thinking the R5 is going to outperform the C500ii for a fraction of the price is so delusional it’s heartbreaking. Do you really think the Canon engineers have somehow come up with a way to defy physics? That the R5 sensor and body will magically not be affected by or generate heat? Or that they have conjured up a 45MP sensor that has such an incredible readout speed that rolling shutter won’t be an issue? Or that they mystically now have leap frogged the Sony sensors with regards to dynamic range?
    Get a fucking grip.

It will have dreadful rolling shutter and overheat. If you think Canon will release a more powerfulf MILC than their 16.000 dollar C500ii but for a third of the price you should stop kidding yourselves. Like immediately. If something sounds too good to be true, it's never true.
I've tested the 1dxIII and it is of course a wonderful stills camera for sports and journalism, but its rolling shutter almost makes it unusable for handheld video, in 5k and 4k. Oddly many people don't even talk about this. Imagine what it will look like in 8k.

We have been seeing these R5 prototypes out there for a couple of months now. Maybe with the final R5 production model, Canon will sneak in a proper cooling fan? Without that, I don't see how Canon can do this 8k/4K properly. The Canon C200, C300, C500, C700, all REDs, All BlackMagics, Sony FS5, FS7, F5, F55, FX9, All Varicams, EVA-1...and S1H have cooling fans to control sensor and processing heat in 4k/6k/8k. If the R5 really can do all that they say it can with no line skipping and/or pixel binning.. .in a passive cooled body? That would make the R5...THE..greatest electronics engineering marvel that man-kind has ever seen! Absolutely no question at all! It will literally make all the fan-cooled Canon Cine models look foolish. (And any other fan cooled 4k/6k/8k camera too) Hmmm...or maybe it's just me that is foolish for expecting all this incredible R5 8k/4k 10bit and raw capability to be fan cooled in 2020.
I'm telling you guys....the devil will be in the details, asterisks and fine print that Canon will only reveal the day this camera actually hits the streets and all NDA's are expired.

I just hope the 4K will be solid without too much rolling shutter and that the IBIS doesn’t exhibit any warping when shooting at 24mm. And please no fucking overheating. How hard can it be? Fuji dropped the ball with X-T4.

Pretty much all this, but we'll see of course.

You can always argue but they haven't done it before. Look at Panasonic though. Their line was pretty basic up until the GH5 where suddenly you get 10 bit internal, 4k 60p. Of course Blackmagic steps up and throws down a $1000 dollar RAW shooting camera with 4k up to 60p not too long after. Fuji puts out the XT3 with S35 4k 60p 10 bit, Panasonic rolls out full frame 10 bit 4k.

If Canon wants to stay in the game they have to do more and clearly they are. The 1DX MK3 is no joke and neither will this camera be. 8k 10 bit RAW is nothing to joke about regardless of what it is.

I don't think it makes the S1H irrelevant but it certainly will give Panasonic something to think about and maybe even more so Sony who is way behind at this point. I expect to see Sony come up with some surprises, I think they have been waiting.
Regardless it will be very interesting to see everything that comes out. I am really happy with my XT3 still. People are complaining about the S1H not having punch in focus while recording, the XT3 has had that from day 1.

1DX iii can subsample 5.5k 60 fps to 4k 60fps for 30 min, so it looks plausible to do 8k 30fps to 4k 30fps that is around the same data..... now higher than 30fps not so sure...
Seeing the c500 ii doing 5.9k RAW 60fps with a fan I was doubtful that the 1Dx in a fully weather sealed body could do the same at 5.5k and here I’m using it daily with no issue....
Bottomline up to 30fps absolutely doable, rolling shutter will be an issue but so is on the SH1
