Very impressive. The acting was so good that I forgot to look for any issues with the camera.
I guess that if the story is good enough, the vast majority of people will not care one jot for anything else.

Saw that footage weeks ago - it looks like it has been stolen, borrowed, doctored, changed.
Just check the guy's YouTube description for that video. Anybody doing that is just looking for short term views. Utterly ridiculous.

To be fair, images that I have shot look worlds apart on my mid 2011 iMac, Note 4, late 2015 5k iMac, 37" LG television, the wife's Galaxy and the kids' iPads.
I much prefer the originals that existed before I hit the record button - never over saturated, over sharpened, perfectly exposed, no chromatic aberration. I just wish we could reteieve the data directly from our memories. Without compression artifacts, of course.
The closest we get to that is when we replay those images in dreams.

Probably a Canon of some description. Never used one but their images are the best I have seen for flattering people - and it is people that I tend to film more than, say, aardvarks or buildings.

Funny that you're asking about this technique, I was just barely reading about it, browsing reddit earlier today some dude shot a cool little John Wick-like action piece in his apartment by himself, rocked a little snorricam, someone linked to this video in the comments, obviously pretty DIY, but maybe good enough to at least get some test shots.

There was a lot of obvious color grading in your video ("Dream Drives"). I thought the whole point of the EOSHD settings was to achieve a look *in the camera* not by color grading in post. Your video, whatever its other merits, looks nothing like the colors you get from the EOSHD Pro color settings out of the camera. As I understand it, these are specifically not settings for major color grading in post.

I have a steadicam solo. There are times my footage looks to have been taken from a yacht. I find the secret is not to plan the shot too much. If I do then I invariably struggle to get it right. But if I "go with the flow" then I get some decent useable footage. I realise that this approach wouldn't necessarily work in a scripted context but for making fun films it's an ideal technique. I find that with practice it's possible to read what it's about to do next. If it starts to rotate then go with it - react dynamically to what it does. It often works and, for an amateur like me, it's much better than trying to make it do something.

When you watch ICE by Griffin Hammond, it must be fair to assume that they don't have a clue at DP when it comes to actually filming anything on both a technical and artistic level. Good job I am not a conspiracy theorist because I would swear that their effort was sabotage on behalf of other camera companies they have a good relationship with.

Whatever you decide, add a checksum of every file so you can verify if it's intact or not. And make multiple copies so you can find one copy of a file that is not corrupt.
I have used this and like it. http://www.exactfile.com/
Good to have for files on computer too. It's good to know that your source material is still intact later in a project or after transfer.

Well as of now nothing else has a chance to survive nearly as long as a Blu-Ray can. Now will there be a Blu-Ray player to play it, good question. But 30, 40 years is really not that long. Well in reality half a persons life almost but.. I sure would not trust any of these modern day printers to have prints survive that long even though they blow about 100 year inks. Yeah maybe if they never see the light of day! Lucky to last 5 years if the sun is on them. I lived in Florida for years and prints don't last for crap down there. Heat, humidity, and sun not good for print media.
Trouble is now technology moves so fast God only knows what we will have 5 years from now, let alone 40 years from now. We probably can't begin to imagine.
I would imagine a photo album will last 40 years. They are almost always closed. I would imagine a SD card will last that long. As to a player for it ??? I am sure both will be good for a laugh from your kids 40 years from now! The way fashion goes they might be wearing the same outfits we are wearing now.

That's what I did for the DS1. The branded batteries came in a good 5mm short of the Chinese made '18650' batteries that came with the unit. So I would advise caution when buying any extras ahead of getting exact specifications and measurements for anything that comes from tiny Chinese factories.

Davey reacted to Andrew Reid in It's 2017 still no affordable Full Frame camera with nice 50/60p slowmo image !!!
D750 in 1080/60p is sharper than the A7S in full frame 60p mode.
But APS-C mode A7S gives better 1080/60p than almost anything else for the money and you have way more choice of lenses on E-mount than Nikon F-mount.
    Sadly no Speed Booster
Not sure what happened to the custom one on this forum.
So this is $999 used... anything cheaper?
Cheapest would be a used Panasonic G6... 1.3x crop with Speed Booster and Canon lenses, so nearly full frame.
Check out the quality of 1080/60p on the Fuji XT-20 though... and you can put a Nikon mount Speed Booster on it, but not Canon.
How about forgetting about 60p altogether and going for a nice 120p RX100 IV if it is slow-mo you're looking for?

Unsure why everybody is surprised the AF seems iffy with this camera?
Each company seems to have specs they excel at and it takes the other manufacturers a few years to catch up on...
I doubt Panasonic is just holding back phase or dual pixel af. Just as I doubt Canon is holding back inexpensive 4K with a manageable codec size. Just as Sony is doubtfully holding back cameras that do not overheat.
If you NEED great AF, get a Canon. If you NEED crazy sharp, high resolution video with adequate AF, get a Sony. If you NEED 10bit 4K up to 60p at $2000 get the GH5.
Since I assume most of the people interested in the GH5 are event videographers, I would think AF would be more important than 10bit video?
As said earlier... you can't get everything for $2000 or less.

The Dianna + Brian wedding video is stunning (haven't seen the other one yet).
I have just finished a very generic wedding video and this makes mine look like somebody handed a slightly drunk aunty Doris a disposable point and shoot from the supermarket. This is a good thing, by the way. Aside form the drone shots, there is plenty in there which I am going to use (editing technique wise) that I hadn't considered; in particular the overlapping dance scenes towards the end.
    Thanks very much for sharing.
