"the sound and the fury signifying nothing" I feel like I was getting to know a actual person I could watch the first guy do a 30min or Hour I was learning something and a seeing mental a world view. The second one looks great and was awesome to watch as an Into or death scene with your life passing before your eyes or something But about half way through I started to feel assaulted and anxious imagine watching a Hour of that on a huge screen with the sound blasting! It reminds me of koyaanisqatsi on crack... but very technically impressive and attention grabbing. I feel the golden mean, the middle path is best, nothing to excess, yin and yang, bacon and eggs, PB&J etc. I liked them both perhaps something in the middle would be ideal...

Ok now you need a Good DSLR a good Drone and now a Gun? I guess the 50mag Desert Eagle will have higher dynamic range???? What could this mean for Law enforcement? or the military?? Can you just shoot through a wall to get recon on the place? Shit is crazy!

@Cinegain "You can't shoot stills with the BMPCC" The work around is set it to raw and turn time lapse on like 10 sec and push record on and turn off before 10 sec and you have a still... Carry on....

The reason the stabilizing is bad is not the software fault I shot this with just my hands on the camera no rig or anything... the Full Software is awesome! Thanks it seems I need to do the opposite of the NX1 and protect the shadows by overexposing a bit on the BMPCC

WHAT!! this is heresy is it not?? what about the world class lowlight? I am a recovering Samsung victim and Have a NX-1 and alot of gear...and I like it. Im just getting the hit if I want to work with others in my area Sony is a better choice to fit in. But you would rather have a A7RII over a SII for mainly video? can you dilate your thoughts on this?

SPOILERS if you haven't watched... Its a whole bunch of close ups I can see this is the same person is that what was conveyed by the shoes off at the same time? Im not sure what the ring was trying to say but it meant something...or did it.... it feels like your flirting with the movie types like "The Waking Life" and "A scanner darkly" you have to show not tell... you were discussing universal things... I would raid all the stock footage I could and cut to it to show your point.... talking about major deaths you could cut to grainy news footage showing bodies...(dont have to be super graphic or it COULD) when you speak of Hitler you could cut to Clips of "Triumph of Will" when speaking of dumb people you could show 1984 clips of people just marching to work like drones in the style of "koyaanisqatsi" type time lapses watching TV or 50's footage of an Idealized turkey dinner... You talk about sex you could cut to people crying some Jerry springer type show or something... etc you need more wide shots perhaps you could get a friend to sit there... or you could shoot a plate from the perspective of the bed looking at you sitting in the chair the chair and shoot your back in the same perspective... I still dont get the power strip with the light coming on.... I get the impression this is a person talking to himself in an inner dialogue....like he is deciding to go Kill? or is he just getting drunk?? Also all the stuff was in focus and I could hear it pretty well and the color looked like early morning to me. I know saying this stuff is alot easier than doing it... I should a been a critic! its alot easier to put paint on somebody else's house than to plan dig a foundation and build your own! I wish I could flow with ideas like this for my own shit. Dude has been gone for two years and now presidential scandals, exploding phones, exploding dryers, and scandalous exploding MICROWAVE spy cameras! Hi I have been using my new to me BMPCC and I am dying using the screen on the back... Looking for tips for a good cheap monitor I can use... I see the most popular size is 7" but unless Im missing something that seems huge on top of your cam?? Would I appreciate the 7" over the 5" in the long run? I would like to use with both my BMPCC & NX-1 if needed so I guess it needs to do 4k Im trying to keep the budget around $200 Don't mind if you can suggest a model that's a few years old that I can snag off ebay.... Hi thanks for the input no IR filter I just got this cam about a month ago its just naked FD lens with ND no Speed booster and I did the edit and grade in resolve!

Great vid man Ive been studying this cam may get it Some say you may need ND Filters @ night when the Light source is in the shot but it didnt bother me in your vid.

As im considering getting rid of my NX Gear Ive put it in boxes and am trying to act like I don't have it for a week or two.... we are separated not divorced... Finally got a ND Filter for my FD len only things I can get on my Pocket atm ATM Shot this stuff RAW trying to figure out what is the best exposure on the histy I suppose on RAW you want a flat valley not peaks to the left or right? Its all hand held with some serious (bad) stabilization all done in Resolve Im learning that just just because I have all that dynamic range perhaps I shouldn't keep the Whitest whites and the blackest black alot of grades have milky blacks.... All Canon FD 24mm 2.8 + $13 NDfilter

Seems like they are trying to really change the game like maybe you keep the same body for years and they sell you a 6k sensor to stick in it in 2 years.... I just came across this vid @ 30min he talks about URSA Pro he was sponsored by them last year and says he has some connections and claims BM is DEFENETLY releasing more gear at NAB What else could it be? Must be BMPCC 2.0? or a capture card for Ipads...

I was like him as well like I need to keep what I got. But now Im not sure... an acquaintance/friend that's a pro director here in the LA area has really started taking interest in me a bit... He has been giving me books and a great one was Nestor Almendros Man with a Camera a great book on the philosophy of a DP.(get it if you can its pretty rare) He shoots with a FS7 -FS5 and has been strongly "Suggesting" I get a A7s2 Im not sure but I think he would like to invite me on set to maybe shoot some behind the scenes stuff for him I dont think he cares personally but I get the impression his circle will think Im a buffoon showing up with my Kitted out NX-1 and 2 S Lenses and in turn look at him funny for inviting me.... or maybe he just would prefer to work with all sony It seems silly but this town is really that petty some times... out of curiosity I got a quote for all my NX gear from a big store in NY and they said minimum they would give me $3200 if in decent condition more if better... said if I would trade in they would sell me a used A7S2 for $2200 (said they will cut me a better deal if I trade instead of cash) Its just if I do it ill be knocked back to the stone age lens wise and have to learn a new camera (it seems it the opposite of the NX-1 where you underexpose for best image you overexpose a bit on the sony) but at least Ill still have my My 5 FD lenses that will probably sing on the A7s2... But right Now on I have I have 12mm- 150mm in lenses all 2.8 or faster. And then @webrunner5 had a great point THERE IS Some URSA MINI's Going for around $2400 on FeeBay. Geez... they may drop a 100 or so low when the PRO drops. I just need to decide if I want to be a lone wolf or possibly break into that "scene" its just I have an INTP type personality Im not to fond of the the Machiavellian bullshit required to flourish there. Ill probably just think about it till all the options pass lol
