Neither is capable of handling 4k without significant time consuming frustrations esp with Premier Pro.

You mean a GT650M? Then yeah, of course. My gut tells me the gap vs a 1050 Ti will be so large I don't even need to look that up to be sure, but here you go anyway:

Dell Optiplex is a popular choice for offlease starter PC to use as your base, you can see lots of people have done basically this. Purchased an Optiplex then stuck a better GPU in it, plus maybe some extra RAM.

Some people might recommend upgrading the PSU as well (but then again he is putting a 1070 in there, even the YT Host himself says he'd recommend putting a 1050 Ti in there instead):

OzTalksHW is a channel I quite like, I've watched a lot of his videos as he has quite a few of these low budget builds:

It depends on the region. I see far more Fujis in peoples hands around UK and Europe than Pentax DSLRs, that's for sure. The shops have far more room dedicated to Fuji's cameras than Pentax, and the unit shipments don't take into account the fact higher priced models ship in smaller numbers, but might take a larger proportion of the market by value than by unit numbers.
Of course Canon and Nikon getting into mirrorless is a severe storm for Fuji, Panasonic and Olympus. They are going to get squeezed. It should prompt all 3 to go full frame, so we win in the end.

Dustin reacted to mercer in EVA1 vs Terra 4k or Mavo vs FS5 II - decisions!
It seems the EVA1 is really the only choice if you need the 240fps.
As far as Canon goes... yeah I guess... the RawLite out of the C200 edits natively in both FCPX and Resolve. Sure it eats data, but I am seeing more and more shooters using the RawLite for wedding videos and they go through way more footage than you probably will... plus I believe you can use CFast2 to SSD adapters... or I vaguely remember reading that somewhere?
And also remember that a lot of reviews have stated that the 8 bit 4K Canon Log files have more latitude in post than the 10bit files from the GH5.
Anyway my point is that don’t disregard the C200 quite yet... I think you’ll find it offers a lot of what you want/need... except for the 240p... but almost no camera has that, so it’s kind of a bottleneck for your choices.
Last thing about the C200 and then I’ll stop... a feature that goes unmentioned is that it exports 10bit 2K from it SDI port. So with an external recorder you can get some juicy 2K ProRes with it.
Okay, I’m done. Good luck with whatever you choose.

@kidzrevil I’ve now shot two projects both involving outdoor 90+ degree heat and knock on wood I haven’t seen any overheating! IBIS seems to work best for me when I shoot using the EVF to my eye. If I have the luxury of resting my arms on something it’s dang near tripod like. I echo your above sentiments

Here is some new footage shot with the C200 by the folks at Film Riot. It a short, granted YouTube compression is evident all over the place, but still nice to see something other than slowmo, weddings and plant life.

Nice. Your talking a camera in the A6500 that you can make  pretty darn good footage with. Not a lot it can't do. Well Whip pans are probably out with one. But most people don't even know what Rolling Shutter even is or care. So don't let that slow you down. If you do 1080p, 4k down sampled is your best best. It is pretty good that way compared to 1080p OOC.
Simple to do also if you haven't before.  https://dslrvideoshooter.com/how-and-why-you-should-downscale-4k-to-1080/

@IronFilm I figured heck 30 day return policy thats MUCH more reliable than an eBay rando-seller.

Couple things: I've received my dumb adapter and I have to say it looks fairly quality for being $17. Going to be trying a 28mm on it first. I also purchased Caleb Pike's at DSLR VIDEO SHOOTER's a6500 guide and it has given me a much better run-down on how the camera works. I figure it's like having a video version of the manual. Has me pumped for its Tuesday arrival!
Finally, I won the Sony 35mm 1.8 OSS prime on eBay. (Wasn't much of a hassle). I've been pouring through recommended color profiles/settings and will likely be purchasing Pro Color 3.0 / Pro LOG Bundle as well! Can't wait to open up new filmmaking possibilities that just weren't possible with the Nikon D5300. Just wanted to say thanks everyone for the advice in leading up to this purchase. Hopefully after playing with my setup for a bit I'll have some footage to share in the coming weeks.

It is not just that a dumb adapter gives you more focal length options, but also it is important to always have back ups for when something fails, and this is a very cheap way to keep your ass covered. (it doesn't even have to be an outright failure that might encourage you not to use the focal reducer, maybe the glass in it is creating flaring you don't want)
Same here, I like buying secondhand stuff from Adorama / B&H as they have a generous rating system I can trust.

Final update here: I've purchased a used "Excellent Condition" Sony A6500 from Adorama. Saved a couple hundred bucks from new price. Funnily enough, I bought my current camera, a d5300 refurb from Adorama. With a 30 day return policy I'm going to give it a go. Settling on the 35mm 1.8 OSS Sony and a Lens Adapter for my two Nikon Primes. Should be a fun next couple of weeks!

The 18-105 would be *the* perfect lens, spec-wise. If it didn't have that kit-lens-look. With OIS and an additional monopod, it's indispensable @105 mm. Also good for gimbal work, because it doesn't protrude.
Good starting point. I have the Sigma 16mm f1.4 only since a month or so now. Never would want to go any wider (24mm FF equivalent), that's nailing down this side of the spectrum.
Manual focussing is perfectly possible with EVF (and not so much with shitty display), but it definitely is more precise and more fun with an external monitor. Just practise and see how good you are. May I suggest a "rig"?
See attachment. Made of these parts, all Amazon:

Didn't find this on Amazon.com. On Amazon.de it's called Nicna universal bracket and costs €8,99.
The Arri-rosette and the grip both are Smallrig products (the brand name fits, since I want to "reduce to the maximum"). That particular grip is also not available internationally, it seems, but imo you don't need all those mounting points, and the Camvate grip is 10 bucks cheaper anyway.

That cable is USB to microUSB. Like I wrote, I feed the camera with an external powerbank on my belt the whole day, and then it's still charged. The little cut-out on the "base plate" is for the cable of a dummy battery.

    Have fun and enjoy.
Gary Friedman might have some free videos up on youtube about the a6300 / a6500. He often explains the "hidden" features of cameras.

Maartech has good videos on "video settings" so you might want to check those out as well.
Learn how to set up the Fn menu and the M1 and M2 settings. Without those, you will go crazy.
For 4K video, you need a 64GB card.Don't get a 32GB card (or smaller). It won't work. Forgot to mention that. One of the quirks. Welcome to Sony land...
I use a Sony SDXC U3 10 95MB/s card (that's what it says on it... heck if I know what it means).
If you are ok with manual focus and want to pick up a cheapo minolta lens, look for an LA-EA1 (about $50 used), and then you could put a Minolta AF lens on it and it will read the EXIF data for IBIS on it. Don't confuse Minolta AF lenses with minolta MC or MD lenses, which are older manual focus lenses (nice, but they required different adapters).
The placement of the video record button will drive you crazy. There are little clear rubber buttons that you can buy that will stick on to any of your camera buttons. I don't have a link to them. I keep meaning to buy them and put them on the Fn button and the record button.
If you are going to be using your Nikon manual lenses, then you want to set 1 of your custom buttons to punching it to confirm focus.
As good as the focus peaking is on the a6300 / a6500, I find that punching in is still more accurate for critical focus.
The 35mm f/1.8 OSS is supposed to be a good lens. You will probably get a lot of mileage out of it.
You might be able to rig up a very lightweight dummy battery to use handheld / on a monopod. It should allow you to shoot longer and (theoretically) help reduce the likelihood of overheating since many people claim that the heat from the internal battery accelerates overheating. Pulling the LCD screen away from the body reportedly helps with overheating. I saw one person who had a rig with a small fan on it. He says it works well.
    a6500 doesn't have a headphone jack...
Here is something to just tease you a bit:
A lot of people like the AndyCine monitors. I would avoid the IKAN monitor. It is supposed to be nice but it isn't all that much bigger than the LCD on the a6500.
Hope this helps. Despite the quirks, and the naysayers, lots of people use the a6300 / a6500 for videos and they create some really nice stuff.  Check out Brandon Li's stuff. Or just search youtube for "a6500 cinematic" and you will come up with lots of nice stuff.

Man have you guys given me stuff to think about. The a6500 / G85 have my attention. I will need to make a chart and figure out which one makes more sense.
