zerocool22 reacted to Emanuel in Let's go 4K on the big screen at home for 1 grand and a half...
The funny is the fact the parade doesn't end there at 10,000 lumens... Take a look on this example here:
And the utmost is when the 10,000 lumens theory proves to be the spot number. If not, the difference from 10,000 to 20,000 should duplicate the impact. It simply doesn't at all. Interesting to say the least. @zerocool22 you got a home run here, pal (E :-)

Why the hate on 10000 lumens? Its a fair and simple questin though. Not sure why it called for pun.

zerocool22 got a reaction from mercer in Canon 5D mark iii RAW video 2018
Yeah I shot this video with the 5DIII ML RAW
I still own a 5D III, but mainly for shooting pictures and shooting some clips of my little girl. I upgraded to a URSA mini pro. And It is hard to step back from such an image, so atm I do not use the 5D III for any projects anymore. Allthough the 5D III RAW has some serious mojo going on, and I like that its so tiny so for travel its so lovely.

Ha! But more seriously, if a person wants a very strong projector at a low cost maybe buy a cheapie then swap out for a stronger LED themselves??

I really don't think Philip Bloom ought to endorse Any product at all. Test them, tell it like it is, and don't take money doing it. Anytime money is involved it is easy to get the results they want you to get ,maybe not the truth.
Now if he needs money go out and shoot for a living and give up reviews. Pretty simple concept. I just don't think a person ought to do both for money. And he Ain't doing this Kinefinity just for the hell of it. He is getting gear, or money, or both.

zerocool22 got a reaction from EthanAlexander in Are we going to talk about Netflix's "Bright"?
You guys must be mad high when you watched bright. As the movie was such a let down. I found the idea kinda fun with LOTR thousands years later. It started off ok with the training day kinda vibe. But it went down the drain really fast with the magic wands, magic, weak plot and weak character development.
I feel the same about those kingsman movies, I really dont get what people like about it. Its one of the only movies I actually stopped watching because it was that bad.

So... if I switched to youtube, my biggest concern is I feel like I'd never be able to get my videos even close to the right audience or be able to discover other decent filmmakers in the same way. Tips on how to use youtube more like vimeo in that sense? Is there an equivalent to "groups" that I'm not seeing? On youtube I just always feel like the views I get were accidental clicks by people looking for.. you know, bad videos.

I finally got new GBs for my Vimeo (speaking of downsides to vimeo).
So I could upload my test video which had a lot of grain in it, and again compare to youtube.
IMO, Vimeo does a better job.

zerocool22 got a reaction from maxmizer in Kinefinity Terra 4k has landed
Yeah marketing is one aspect of it, but support is the main issue. I do not want to buy a camera overseas, and if there is a problem need to send it back to China.
I actually really like the image. But I will not buy it, because I am afraid it will break and I need to send it back to China. + When I am tired of that camera and I want to sell it. There is not a big usergroup looking for the kinefinity camera's, so thats also something I always consider.

Try Bruxelles Midi station - they sell it there (although it might be the international edition). I don't have a subscription, I'm afraid, as I read it online. I can buy a copy and post it to you if you like. PM me your address.

zerocool22 got a reaction from webrunner5 in ARRI Alexa cheap enough to own now?
I guess the new alexa's will also come down in size a lot. Probably the size of a ursa mini pro. Which makes grip life much better. And yeah the image will blow away the current alexa image probably. But I am happy with the current Alexa look :), so for me it would not be a deal breaker. Its still better a better look then any RED for me. But I do not have the money for the supporting grip atm.

zerocool22 reacted to Fritz Pierre in Opinion Thread - Body-mounted Stabilizers
@Riadnasla you are referring to an actual steadycam style stabilizer with vest...is this correct?....If you are, I would look at a Came TV or symilar cheap knockoff style vest arm system, and the actual mechanical "steadycam" you buy that carries the camera is where I'd spend the money....although they take practice, IMO a gimbal will never equal the beauty of footage from a good steadycam operator. As the C100 is not that heavy and gimbals are the rage now, you can probably find a glide cam or something symilar quite cheap used.

zerocool22 reacted to IronFilm in Best cinema camera for me?
Is tricky to give advice without knowing your budget range, but here are some suggestions I'd give:
Varicam LT: arguably "the best" camera right now (short of an Arri 65 or Sony F65 etc... those truly ridiculous priced ones!). Yes, even better than say the usual Arri Alexa. Plus, you can pick up an EVA1 or GH5S as a great B cam for the Varicam!
Sony F5 / F55: the F5 is going very cheap these days secondhand, is packed with more features perhaps than any other camera at this price point. (and you're F3 could stick around as a lovely B cam for its "free" price! ha)
Sony FS7: basically is a "baby F5", very similar in picture quality, & capable of 4K 60fps 10bit as well. But lacking many of the extra bonuses you might see on the F5, such as TC or genlock, but you said you don't care about those anyway.
URSA Mini Pro: best bang for buck of all of these that I'm mentioning! (unless you get an absolute bargain for an F5, which I've seen occasionally them go for FS7 secondhand prices) The URSA Mini Pro is a lovely evolution forward from the URSA Mini 4.6K (which is itself a *lot* better than its brother the URSA Mini 4K, so don't get those two mixed up when reading reviews!)
Kinefinity Terra 4K: gives the URSA Mini Pro a hard run for "value for money", coming close behind. Has an eND option with the Kinemount with EF lenses. (also can do PL lenses, but I don't know of an eND for PL, however I imagine with PL lenses you'd be more ok with using a mattebox as well)
EVA1: the most compact 4K 10bit on the market! Super lightweight for a camera with those specs plus S35 + NDs + TC + SDI + etc... and you've got the option between EF or PL with a third party accessories.
Ones I would *NOT* consider (but you might, but probably won't... as you're stuck with EF *or* PL, not both! But all the cameras I mentioned above, at a minimum, can switch between EF and PL):
Canon C200: lacks a middle codec, you only have the extremes of 8bit or raw!!
C300 mk2: overpriced (although, its price has massively come down since launch. So not so crazy to pick it now)
