PannySVHS got a reaction from Mark Romero in How High An ISO Will You Go On Your GH5???
Hallo Mark, that is a reasonable among other questions. High ISO in low light, shooting at 1600 Iso without any problems at all. I shot it at 8bit 420 HD, very gradeable footage and it´s an easy to grade camera. Shoot it at Natural profile with contrast at 0, noise reduction -5, sharpnes -5!!!, color -2.
HD is already very high resolving.
So the smallest mode of this camera is already delivering awesome and quick results. Try it out. If it don´t fit you after testing, bring it back to the store.
I´d say, it´s the perfect camera for your needs, the very best, durable, great battery life, quick results in REC709, IBIS, great color out of the box, if you
use White Balance. It´s a winner. No, I´m not working for Panasonic. I would love to though

1600 is my max, 95% of the time... 3200 in a pinch. Nothing higher though.

Haha, classic game, played in the late 90ies though. My favorite game is the all time classic. Awesomest platformer I ever played.
Okay, back to the OST. Thanks guys. No easy task it was but your answers helped me to decide for a rearrangement of the Suzuki track. A musician I know
is hopefully going to do it as a favor for a favor:)
very unsettling it is!:)

By the way, I meant play them simultaneously.
Its not entirely clear in the first post I did!
The interaction between the two pieces when you let the first one play and skip around to random places in the second one makes it particularly unsettling!

Have a browse through these, some of which ('Kingdom Of The Japanese' and 'Oriental Landscapes' for example ) might be in the ballpark for you.

The music for the Amiga game (late 80s) Xenon II Megablast was almost the same as the AOP13 theme. I think they just changed it a bit here and there.

Yes, that is an excellent looking article!

After discovering that gravity, concrete and a faulty ladder are bad for an a6300 (not to mention for an ankle) I am in need of a new camera.
So of course I am looking at the GH5 because... well... it's a GH5. Or getting an a6500
For those with a GH5, how high of an ISO will you go before you really start NEEDING noise reduction software / plugins?
How high will you go if you DO use plugins / NR software?
And is the GH5 a good camera if you want to do MINIMAL post processing? I know that the ability to record in 10-bit is great for grading. But what if you want to avoid grading (but need to do color correction because no one nails white balance in camera... especially if you will be dealing with a lot of mixed lighting like tungsten, daylight, and fluorescent all in the same shot)
I would be using it fro real estate videos and I need something quick, easy to use, good dynamic range, good stabilization (will be on my Zhiyun crane), and decent enough HIGH ISO performance.
The thing is, I will only be getting about $300 for a finished two-minute video. So I can't spend hours grading it / color correcting / stabilizing etc. I need something that is going to require minimal massaging.
Thanks in advance.

Are you are up for a bit of experimentation to make something unique ?
Of course you are!
Open two browser windows, both with YouTube on
In the first one, put something like this, which is a royalty free suspense type piece
And then in the other one, put something like this.
If you move the play position of the second one round then you can create some sinister and interesting stuff.
When you're happy with two pieces that you find then you can then just do that properly in your NLE by sliding the tracks around to create your own composite.
More fun, more creative, more exclusive and generally cheaper as 'Royalty Free' stuff generally does still have an initial licensing charge.

Thanks @PannySVHS we've been posting videos on Instagram mostly. There are 6 up so far with 3 more to come in the next few days, one min from each city we are in. On Instagram his name is (at)md_woods_ if you'd like to check them out. Any video posted recently on that page I filmed with the same GH5 setup.

Yes, Andrew, it is impressive! I´ve been a fan of the potential of the Panny codec/color from G6 on. It´s been giving me exiting possiblities for color work.
This weeked I shot my short on a GH5. I completely trusted that pixel perfect HD and its least color mode: the glourious 8bit 420 REC709 Natural profile with contrast at 0.
This is a screenshot, quickly graded. Hope to get it through the edit and music and postprod quickly. If 8bit rec is already of such beauty, the other modes will be massive.
By the way, I shot it 8bit and rec, because of older hard- and software infrastructure available at the moment:) Nothing more uncomfortable than having footage laying around unedited
EDIT: We know about the advantages of contrast 0 in rec709 on the new Lumix cameras, sharpness and noise at -5 of course:)

A nice piece showing off the GX85 in combination with a 25mm CCTV lens. I enjoyed this very much and really like the colors.

The plustek has flimsy negative holders and handling. The Kodak is very robust, has been used by newspapers back then.
Still think the DP Merrill cams are the best marriage of sensor and lens. Still got my GF1 for the combo of an optical viewfinder for estimated manual focusing.
Have not tried because of worries about screwing up. Meanwhile have shot so many crappy pictures with EVF. "The process dictates way more than specs", very well said.

Here's a 1 take long shot I did in Budapest a few weeks ago. I'm traveling Europe with my good friend and musician MD Woods, we were in Budapest for a few shows and I shot this performance for the record label.
Cam: GH5, handheld. Interesting setup: I used a camera neckstrap around my neck for stability and had a mini tripod (very small) threaded in the bottom to use as a little grip. That and being very conscious of my movements let me do a long shot I ended up being really happy with. Of course, we did 3 takes and my favorite take visually was not the musicians favorite musically but I found it fairly easy to get a good take. This in body stabilizer is so nice to have.

PannySVHS reacted to Mattias Burling in Sigma's secret weapon - SD Quattro review, an incredible filmic 8K timelapse tool with infrared capabilities
My point exactly.
One need the tool that suites once needs, not others.
For me its all about the image I end up with and the process dictates that way more than specs. I dont care about the LCD because I dont use it. So they could remove it completely for all I care
And at the end of the day image quality isn't even measurable either. It to is just a personal taste.
Specs does not and will never mean jack.

PannySVHS reacted to Mattias Burling in Sigma's secret weapon - SD Quattro review, an incredible filmic 8K timelapse tool with infrared capabilities
I get it. Either you adapt to it or not.
My DP1 is just as fast as any other camera and actually faster than most due to the excellent manual focus.
1-2 sec from wakeup to fire, max.
The LCD doesn't matter to me. My film cameras dont have LCDs and some doesn't even have viewfinders, but I don't let that stop me
Its never going to suite everyone. The point of my comment was simply that you shouldn't buy a modern Sigma. Because it doesn't seem to be for you anyway

PannySVHS got a reaction from jonpais in Camera reviews written by AI / AI Predicting Image Popularity
Easy to manipulate or devide people on an online forum. Especially for AI, because it doesn´t know effort and never tires down.
The communicational structure of an internet forum is very vulnerable to AI or other intelligent efforts with doubtful conduct.
So watch out for who you are paying attention to. The best thing to do is to appreciate my beautiful comments
AI will be hard to impossible to be recognized as such. My intelligence is so massive, so that some consider me the superiour AI and
neuro network connected to all other networks in the most meaningful way. I am god of bots, I am BOTTOGOD.
Data Analysis did not make the original joke work well, but Borats follow up. So it´s a Not Nooot Joke.
The original not joke is the content which modern dataanalysis has been providing us with for decades.
People swallow it and laugh about it. AI pushed this to perfection, premanufactured, remanufactured/reproduced content.
Always see the originator to see the original intention behind all the talking.

PannySVHS got a reaction from EthanAlexander in The Ability to Improve at Cinematography
That is a most foremost thing, staying on topic! About working and training muscle memory and beforehand being in a good shape: At one thing handheld shooting made my shooting better conceptually, simulating a jib, a tracking shot, pan- helpin all in laying out and planning a sequence.
What it also did though, it made me miss that one or two important locked medium shots. So best is to have physical practice and to have the very basic film grammar down. Anything else can be rooted from that. Having shooting styles of the greats boiled down into one liners and standard vocabulary.
Tony Zhous video essays are great examples of that. And writing or writing stuff down improves cinematography fundamentally, as a great master of cinema gives a great example of:
