When the A6300 overheats at 10min it's total crap. When Fuji does it it's brilliant because it can be increased to 30min with a grip, nevermind the fact that one can be used on the A6300 for the same effect

100mbit in 1080p 60fps is a very welcome feature to 60p lovers like me.

If the refresh rate for the viewfinder is 100 fps, that to me suggests that the readout speed is 10ms. My reasoning for this is that presumably the refresh rate is maintained in video recording and I cant think of any simple way that two readouts could occur at the same time, beyond interlaced (comb filtering? I dont think so). Much simpler to increase the readout speed.   So I think rolling shutter will be fairly reasonable for 4k.
I too have seen a video which was an interview with a fuji employee that said that F-Log would only be via HDMI out .  Hopefully this was a confusion, as this would be disapointing for me.
Unless its 10 bit out then it would seem like a massive ball ache to rig up an external recoder just for a flat picture style.  Though I can sort of understand why they might to this. So non video pro's will never be able to complain about the "dull colour" for example.   If this is the case then I would be more interested in what the inbuilt picture styles can do.  Maybe they can be tweaked a little to get more highlight latitude.

Thanks for posting the video shot with XT2. I'm absolutely intrigued by it and if GH5 won't be something exceptional I'm seriously consider the switch to Fuji.
As I see it now, XT2 is what I always wanted: an APSC sensor camera with beautiful 4K video from resizing (no crop, no line skipping etc), great colors, low noise, no overheating (with optional grip) a nice design without ergonomic problems, very good photo quality, good AF and a very good lens collection!

Looking fwd to seeing how this thing compares to a hacked NX1 (at 160mb),  both in 4K and in slowmotion FHD.

Yes just $599 more than the A6300 for a camera with better ergonomics, better EVF, weather sealing, better colour science, better styling, better menus and seemingly no major overheating issues with the vertical grip.

I threw the .apk file for this app on my nexus 7 a day or two after that dude first posted about it on github and it worked pretty good! I paired it with my NX500 and had full video control, photo control, etc. For an alpha version, I thought the UI was really pretty slick too, I tried it with both manual and native glass, and I had an image coming onto my tablet from the camera just fine. It was quite laggy though, and definitely had some pretty bizarre colors, but I hope he keeps it up, it could be very useful if he gets it working just a little bit better.

The more tech-talented enthousiasts that jump on the NX hacking train the better it will be for all of us!

interesting. I'm always watching the nx1 hack pages. Never even heard of this. It has potential but doesn't quite work. I could control the camera but never get an image on my phone.  Looks like it offers more camera control than samsungs. Was this an early test that got abandoned or what? no posts there in last 7 days. It installed and uninstalled without incident.

I think you mean the Han river located in Seoul, South Korea
On a related note if you ever do any international business in South Korea or Japan I would highly recommend you don't mix the two up because to each other they are kinda like that neighbor you don't like but are nice to because being rude would just make both your lives a living hell. Kinda like what we Canadian do with the US lol.

It is truly a shame that there won't be a NX2...my NX1 (with the help of EOSHD's NX1 guide!) has given me amazing 4K video quality for over 75+ productions to date and I'll still be using it until I receive my RED Raven (whenever that may be...) Hope to see the GH5 announcement really soon to see what Panasonic has to offer though.

that would be cool. The camera says, hmm, don't like that shot, how about we frame it up this way - then downloads 50 reference shots to the monitor:)
"based on your preferences, we suggest this shot" - download a Scorcese director profile etc

if u just rotate a camera then RS still there just in other direction. But if u applied anamorphic and desqueeze in post u got 3.25x/4.2x (for 16:9/2.35:1 ratio) less RS, which is pretty nice i think

This one is pretty useless, you somehow have to obtain the file created and configure it in some program on your PC because the options for it are shit, you basically just making a preset for your camera to shoot after, you select it in the smart mode on your NX1 or NX500, its same as those other fancy stuff they have, its basically just a pre filter they add on afterwards but instead of doing it yourself the camera does it for you.

This doesn't come as a massive surprise. To me Digital Bolex always seemed like more of a specialty item than a workhorse camera (even though it may have well had the potential for the latter) and I didn't see any of my local colleagues using it, or very many productions in general.
I think the camera's reputation was a double edged sword, it intrigued people, but also caused a lot of people (including myself) to not take it seriously, but more as an expensive novelty. Coupled with feature set that had more than a little similarity to the more established BMCC 2,5K and the lackluster footage from the early adopters (apparently caused by using wrong Resolve RAW profiles), the camera faced an uphill battle.

What a shame. Imo the most complete cinema package and most bang for buck one can get for raw video. Way more suited for pro work than a Pocket and also much more fun for the enthusiasts.
But, like it or not, its pretty logical. They only make one model and sooner or later they need a new one or pull out.
I actually have mine out for sale, thinking I can buy it again sometime. But now I'm gonna rethink.

Shot with vasile's 140 mbps. Still from 4k on 1080 timeline. Andrew's gamma DR settings but no LOG LUT. Just used visioncolor impulz rec.709 tetrachrome FC + Curves, saturation boost and vignette. Used 16-50S lens.

Sick footage everyone! I'm surely having fun with the NX1!!

Good focus pullers. A lot of high speed SR3s. NFL films shoots "cinematic" content for highlight reels (a friend used to edit for them); the game itself, of course, is shot and broadcast on video.
Not sure what NFL films is shooting now, but it's a separate category from broadcast. They have a lot of money. The NFL is a big organization.

I ave tried it and it is great.
I was hoping that playback of original files will be better - it still uses only CPU on 100% (which is pretty annoying) even I have GTX960 with full HEVC support... I will report it as bug again.
However - proxy feature is big step forward (even Sony Vegas has this few years ago)

I work at a school and all the kids edit on Macbook Airs. This proxy workflow is going to be great as well as the new hardware decode support, those laptops cant deal with 50mbps XAVC-s let alone 100mbps gh4 stuff. Now I just have to set the project up once and it will give them an optimised experience when I give them a copy to work on

Just finished upgrading to 2015.3 and none of my NX1 MP4 video files are read as Video files. Instead, they show up as Audio files. This worked fine in 2015.2. Anyone run across this?  Can I just downgrade to 2015.2?

The interpoliation of frames - how it combines them and yes, sensor readout - but the smoothness of a frame into the next.
That to me seperates cameras just as much as other things such as skintones.
The C300 has a blockiness and harshness to it, to me that doesn't feel organic.
Cameras I feel are organic in motion is the Canon 1dx, digital bolex, and blackmagic micro camera.
The FS7 and the Ursa Mini 4.6k also feels blocky and unnatural.
There is a science behind it all that I don't understand, I just know what I like unfortuately.
Not to discredit these cameras - I have seen amazing things out of them.  I just have a particular aethestic.
