TSV got a reaction from Pavel MaÅ¡ek in Canon 5d Mark IV press release and specs!
What really baffled me here with the 5DMKIV, 1DX MKII and MJPEG, is that the XC10 (Like it or hate it) is a 2000 USD Camera with an inferior Image processor (Digic 5) but comes with a more "modern" codec : XF-AVC 4.2.2 Codec 8Bit internal and 10 external and Canon Log.
If they could have done that on a Digic5 IP, why can't they do that on a new Digic6+ IP??!?!?

TSV got a reaction from Mat Mayer in Panasonic GH4 V-Log L Fail (Not what you may think)
Thanks Mat, this is ok, I have a spare camera (GX7MKII) and I can survive for a week without the GH4. It is just that this Vlog story from Panasonic is a mess from start to end. They should have give it for free. Adding all steps was the prefect recipe for stories like mine. Bottom line if this happen to more people, this upgrade will cost them more than they earned by selling it.

The Camera will cost (in Japan) 160,000 Yen (Body), then if you want to shoot 30" you will need to add 43,000 Yen for the Battery grip and 1 Batteries at 9,000 Yen??? (I presume that you can use the one given with the camera and only need to by a spare one)

It quickly start to be expensive. The price was attractive, after all it is price in Japan at the same price that was the GH4 when launched... But adding the cost of the Battery grip and another battery... Not sure now.

Now even FujiFilm (the brand for a hipster's purest photography) of all people have got an affordable 4K camera!!!! Says an awful lot when even FujiFilm is beating Canon in the filmmaking stakes.

Yes, this is a beautiful camera indeed. A friend of mine has the T1. I like everything about Fuji, except that their lenses are big and expensive... Will wait for the GH5 because of the whole ecosystem. For studio work this is no problem, but I do not go back to bulky systems when outdoors.

If you were wondering how long you can shoot with a Lumix GX80/85/7MKII, well at least 1h04 minutes! Or the full length it takes to ride the Yamanote line in Tokyo ;-)
And, will the trains here are air cooled, the camera after 1h was just barely warm and it had enough juice for maybe another full hour ride... Impressive!

    Note.
    1. The Camera used was a GX7MKII from Japan (English menus are now available on these cameras)
    2. Used a 12-35mm Lens
    3. Tiffen Variable ND
    4. Dual IS was on
    5. Battery was fully charged when started recording.
    6. The video was shot in 4K30p (Update)

So you need a "Hack" that may break your camera warranty, a battery grip with two batteries on a 3000 USD camera to do something that a 800 USD Camera can do out of the box? Just saying...

Yesterday by mistake I pushed the record button on my camera while having a drink on a terrace in Tokyo (28c here). The camera was on the table and 30 minutes later when I took the camera I was wandering why it was "hot"... have been recording for a good half hour by mistake!! So to answer your question, it can do FOR sure record 30 minutes without any problems and this despite being under Tokyo's sun!

According to the manual you only have 5axis if you use the Electronic IS. 5-Axis Hybrid.
It work at least like this one mine. Also this mode crop further the image (did not see sharpness loss)

Just got mine yesterday in Japan (GX7MKII) and LOVE it. It has a bit more moire than my GH4, Stabilisation works very well! It will not replace aany Gimbals, but Dual IS and my Came-TV single are doing a way better job than with my GH4.

There are a lot of new features that I really like too, I hope we will see them on the GH5 too. Now, the most impressive part, for me actually, is that the photos are MUCH better and shaper than my GH4... I am impressed here.

Now a quick question, did any one tested the diffraction compensation on this camera? I am curious if this is something that worth using?

Not sure if any of this will help in your situation, but try keeping the focal length as short as possible, using the smallest feasible aperture (note that diffraction may not be as objectionable compared to image degradation due to heat haze), shoot when the ground and air are close to the same temperature (e.g., at dawn, after a rainstorm, etc.), and maybe try some image stacking/averaging techniques used by amateur astronomers.

●KIPONが独自開発したマイコンによりEFマウントレンズを電子制御、ハイースピードAFが可能 = The mount has a some kind of "chip" and support High speed AF
●IS手ブレ補正機能に対応 = They say it handle IS
●全ての撮影モード(P/A/S/M/AUTOなど)に対応 = They say that is works on all Camera modes
●撮影した画像のEXIFデータに焦点距離、露出などの情報が記録されます。= The Focal Length and Exposure Data are recorded in EXIF
●オートフォーカスエリア(ワイド、ゾーン、中央重点、フレキシブルスポット)の選択が可能 = All AF mode are supported (Wide, Zone, Center-W...)
●全てのドライブモード(一枚撮影、連続撮影、セルフタイマー、リモコンなど)の選択が可能 = All shooting modes are supported (Single, Continuous, Sefl-timer, remote...)

So, I am back from my little shooting trip (See picture below ;-)) and I was testing the LS300 this afternoon (on the balcony) with my 12-23mm since I was not really impressed by the Olympus selection they gave me... Well I have to dig into the settings (I rested the camera) but look at these 3 samples. It look like that the colours are smoothed with some kind of candy effect. Are my eyes deflective or?
Also if you check on the 3rd video, I have some strange effects on the electric poll on the right side, something that I never saw with my GH4 for example.

Thanks Liam... I will make sure to watch this video. And you are spot on, I am not doing a lot of post production, just slightly correct or boost colors if needed. I though of having an external recorder and after toying with an external monitor (that I no longer use) It is actually utterly unpractical in my case. The added weight of the monitor increase risk of shaky videos when shooting outdoor, on a single spot I can move my camera as much as 30 to 50 times in a single hour, ppl will immediately spot you with a recorder... Now, a Recorder without a screen that unload files on an external SSD and that rely on the basic info of the Camera while keeping 10bit output I would really consider it, but as they are and being alone with my backpack surrounded by tourists or in the middle of nowhere alone is a bit tough.

Well so far all points to keeping my GH4, get a speedbooster and wait for the GH5... I will try to rent a A7SII and play with it for a day or two to see, but it does not seems that this kind of camera is made for me...
