I'm just trying to share with the community. Take it or leave it. I'm sorry you don't believe me. We will see in about a month if it's true or not.

What do you do when you just got a GH5, want to shoot, and it's raining cats and dogs on a Texas afternoon?

The FSB is built for pro use/abuse but the pan tilt smoothness is very similar. The FSB 8 has 5 levels of drag ... the Ace and FSB 4/6 have 3.
FSB 8 has a quick release plate and a LED light bubble level ... internally probably a bit higher grade build ... better be at 4 times the price.
The FSB 8 can handle 2 to 22 pounds ... the Ace M 0 to 8. I am struggling to get a decent balance on the GH5 without my cage on the FSB 8 whereas
I was dialed in on the Ace.
Now that I have returned to video I assume that I may push above 8 pounds soon ... I prefer to shoot landscape and wildlife video and will be shooting
with the Olympus Pro 300 F4 ... not that heavy but long enough to add a significant lever arm on the balance equation. Stability at a 600 FF equivalent
    will be paramount.
I previously had a OConnor 1030 which was perfect ... other than the fact it and the tripod weighed over 17 pounds ... not ideal for a trek.
Should Canon introduce a decently priced 4K replacement for the C100 Mk II I will be considering that and their 200-400 zoom. But honestly the
GH5 is so good that unless I move to a RED or other RAW capture device I am unsure that I will see a major improvement over the Panasonic.
The value of the Ace ... tripod included is ridiculous ... cannot imagine anyone passing it up at its low entry price ... and I assume Sachtler is giving
them away in anticipation of future upgrade customers.

Won't be anything close to 4K on 700D. This article should be talking about 7D imo, as it's the best value for money with usable sustained write speeds due to CF cards. (You can almost shoot 1080p 14bit RAW on 7D already, it would benefit greatly from this port).

I downgraded from an OConnor to the Ace ... as video is a plaything for me and the OConnor was a beast ... but the only head I could
do pans and tilts with no jitter consistently. The Ace is not in the same realm but with IBIS it can work.
Mine is on a set of Gitzo CF legs with their bowl. Very light and fast to use. Ideal for the mirrorless cameras and up to a C100.

Sorry for the pic ... had to rotate it as the site cut off the legs as it expects landscape format.

The ricoh does. Nothing fancy but standard HD. I know Bigheadtaco uses it alot for vlogging. But that's probably for the size.

The original was a CCD and no video but 14Bit gorgeous files ... the M246 is a CMOS 12Bit ... as Leica says in monochrome there is no appreciable difference in
the capture ... as a derivative of the M240 color it does capture HD video no 4K. Many are hoping for a monochromatic SL which might give us 4K mono files.
When I settle into the GH5 I will pull the M246 and put it on my WoodenCamera rig and run some video. Need a few Variable NDs for my M Lenses ...
Here is an intro video with stills and clips:

And this looks like it was shot exclusively with the M246:

That is an effect of applying the LUT over non V-Log L capture ... not recommended.
Here is a Impulz REC709 LUT ... perhaps a bit better.

docmoore got a reaction from jcs in Hasselblad H6D 100C Review. Shoots 4k Video MF
4K is not MF ... and JCS is right ... put a Noctilux on a FF A7S II in 4K mode and your depth of field will be
so shallow that nothing will be in focus ... for long.
Give me the Leica SL and a couple of Leica C Summicron lenses ....
    http://www.madeinwetzlar.com/filming-with-the-leica-sl-summicron-c-lenses
    Nothing against Hasselblad ... although I passed on a pre-ordered X1D ... GH5 and a Leica Monochrome
instead. Their lenses ... other than the HC 100 lack much character or mojo ... really sharp but bokeh and
    cinematic feel lacking.
RAW is compelling but if the underlying color science is close ... not that big of a deal.

I actually know how it is when Windows and Mac users sit together. No evangelizing, just respect and acceptance for the other's system. Everybody around is fully aware that this is necessary. Don't frown or shake your head. Don't praise a friend's workflows either (despite your internal disagreement), even this poisons the communication, because people tend to be so touchy (why?) that they sense the false tone immediately and find it unbearably patronizing and dishonest. Keep your mouth shut (as you said). Tell outright that you don't participate in discussions about your or their OS or NLE preference. My New Year's pledge.
But then again, someone makes a remark (I won't repeat them, read above). Keeping my mouth shut isn't easy then. But I will.

I am continually amazed at the lack of congeniality that is exhibited on this forum.
Ad hominem attack is the standard of the day ... disagree with me and I will make you look so low, so incompetent ...
Really guys it is all marketing ... find a platform that works for you ... shut your mouth and show your output.
Ideally if we were all sitting in a pub ... talking then the interchange would be perhaps a bit more civil. Should
    be the same here ...
Started with CPM moved to DOS then to Apple then to Windows then to Unix then to Windows then to Mac OS ....
It is all a window painted onto the reality of the hardware ... nothing more. You like Tomatoe I like tomatoh
But to assume you are my better because of your hardware ... knowledge ... sensibilities ...
Would love to see a mature discourse on this site that did not degenerate into an immature attack that does nothing to
advance the knowledge of those who hope to be informed not entertained.
    Just sayin ...

As an all around creative, I find the new macbook to be great. I downgraded from the Mac Pro 2013 (fully spec'd) to the 15" Macbook (fully spec'd)... I can design huge print files in Photoshop, massive UI/UX artboards in Sketch, edit 4K video in Premiere, create complex VFX in After Effects, create 60+ track audio in Reason... I'm struggling to find an example of where the machine chokes and i'm really putting it through it's paces on a day to day basis. The only time I move over to a PC is when we are testing VR stuff on the Vive.
