The commlite af with a7rii is way way inferior to the af with metabones v4 adapter. Its amazing how much difference the adapter makes. I'd also add in that i shoot 50% video 50% stills with my a7 and use manual focus primes for everything, i have a beautiful set of fast nikkor ai's.

Panasonic G7, Canon T6i, Nikon D3300, or Sony A5100. All are great entry level cameras that take great stills and competent video for the price.

Has timecode disappeared from the menus altogether or has it just broken over HDMI?
In the HDMI menu there should be an option to display the camera's info over HDMI for the monitor.
Maybe the firmware reset the default settings?

dont know your budget but the d750's 1080p 60fps is pretty darn sharp and clean, it also has a massive DR

So in other words the 8bit LOG is broken, kaput.
It shouldn't be. No need for it to be. Canon LOG is 8bit on their cameras. Works fine. GH4 V-LOG is 8bit internally. Works fine.

BrorSvensson got a reaction from Marco Tecno in Sony A7RII 4k versus NX1 4K
Well the nx1 takes the 28mp 6.5 signal and downscales it to 4k which is absolutely incredible, the the super 35mm crop on the a7rii is just above 4k so that imo is the reason for the detail aspect.

My dream Chinese product is a battery grip that also connects to the hdmi port and allows prores recording to a secondary SD card.

yes i agree but sharpness is a though one to messure because the sensor changes it so much. The vingetting, chromatic aberation and distortion is equal on all sensors.

I was only joking cause I wish they added this functionality to the A7rii. Renaming things we want as "issues" seems to grab Sony's attention. Although black spots is more of an actual issue.

BrorSvensson got a reaction from exomonkeyman in Lens Help EF mount version or E mount?
First of all a adapter with no glass will not effect image quality so the E mount version of the sammy is not less sharp than the canon mount.
I'd push you to buy the nikon mount samyang 85mm becuase nikon mount is the most adaptable and can be  used on most cameras.
"Iv'e seen that some lenses have a lower scores because of there mount (nikon, sony, canon) is this because when a lens is adapted from EF to E or the other way around, it get's reduced sharpness because it simply works better on EF fit."
That is because the different mounts have difference sensors, lets say canon has a 50mp sensor and sony a 36mp sensor. The lens will score higher on the canon because you can see more detail.

After having the luxury of EVF for manualy focusing video/stills i would find it very hard to go back to dslrs. But who knows, maybe canon will release something interesting.

So yesterday i stumbled apoun this product on ebay ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/new-Nikon-F-G-focal-reducer-speed-booster-adapter-to-Canon-EOS-M-EOSM-M2-M3-/361376870358?hash=item5423bd6fd6:g:u84AAOSwHnFV4muu ), its a Eos m to nikon g focal reducer. I knew that the Eos M have some magic lantern raw capabilities and after further research i found out that it can shoot at a resolution of 720 x 1280.
A eos M can commonly be found for about 150$ (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Canon-EOS-M-Body-Gehause-black-schwarz-TOP-wie-neu-OVP-/151853015439?hash=item235b25218f:g:vYQAAOSw~bFWI-fz).
If anyone has tried a common combo i would be interested in knowing more.

Thanks Liam... I will make sure to watch this video. And you are spot on, I am not doing a lot of post production, just slightly correct or boost colors if needed. I though of having an external recorder and after toying with an external monitor (that I no longer use) It is actually utterly unpractical in my case. The added weight of the monitor increase risk of shaky videos when shooting outdoor, on a single spot I can move my camera as much as 30 to 50 times in a single hour, ppl will immediately spot you with a recorder... Now, a Recorder without a screen that unload files on an external SSD and that rely on the basic info of the Camera while keeping 10bit output I would really consider it, but as they are and being alone with my backpack surrounded by tourists or in the middle of nowhere alone is a bit tough.

Well so far all points to keeping my GH4, get a speedbooster and wait for the GH5... I will try to rent a A7SII and play with it for a day or two to see, but it does not seems that this kind of camera is made for me...
