It would be cool if we had the ability to save luts in place of the 3 custom picture profiles. Could be the path to LOG imagery on nx bodies

@fuzzynormal some are intimidated by the fact that gear has become very accessible. Maybe these "pros" fear that people will realize the amateurs can now obtain the same equipment ? Lets not forget how artistic and innovative the amateurs have been in the past lol.

I don't think that was tested well enough because it definitely doesn't "just desaturate the greens" it shifts the entire color balance of the image. I wouldn't mess with those sliders but if it works for you then fine @iamoui

Only using it for grain to add texture for now. I grade using impulz luts as a base to color correct and deluts for the grade

gamma c -3 saturation, -10 sharpness +15 master pedestal (raised mp to mimic technicolor cinestyle 16-255 range) 0-255 grain added in post with filmconvert. Cant wait for filmconvert to finish the Samsung NX1 profile they are working on. That's gonna be fun

@fuzzynormal bingo ! For the most parts its the hobbiest ready & willing to kill each other off of specs. They can talk you to death about how a camera is better because it can do 4K at 120p and yours only does it at 60p. Thats the defining criteria for them : some #'s on paper. If we are in the business of creating images then show me the image such and such camera creates. Thats where I stand with cameras in general. You see a bunch of people here talking up the xc10 here, some say they own it but I have yet to see a link to things they shot with it. What I do hear when I visit forums is people defending or berrating a camera they haven't seen nor touched because of something Philip Bloom said (for lack of a better example). These are toys to some people for real.

@fuzzynormal bought the RX10 ii for the same reason, documentary work and street photography & a street photo aesthetic for video work. Spec debates are nonsense these days. Im sure many will buy either camera for the same reasons & not because its some hyped or underrated messiah :-D

Def understand where you are coming from. Wish they didn't force us to use these fly by wire mechanisms with manual focus. It just doesn't feel the same as a true MF focus lens but then again I guess they aren't built to behave like a true MF. Having the same issue with my RX10 but I think you just gotta keep using it til you adapt to it

Just show me the footage lol, I hate getting into spec wars. Show me what you can create with the xc10 or any other camera you praise and shoot with. I have absolutely no brand loyalty im just a very hard sell when people start spitting out #'s and tech specs without the footage to back up their claims. A camera in the hands of a Philip Bloom or Whatever is gonna look good because they are great camera operators. What I wanna see is how your footage looks with the xc10 because just because it is a dedicated video camera doesn't mean its a good one. I dont care what its dedicated too to be honest.

?? Rx10 ii & iii are def hybrid cameras for photo & video. Do your research bro. I think Andrew only made the comparison to the RX series because they are both 1" sensors

I admit Sony color is terrible...until you learn how to tweak the picture profiles & grade admittedly the xc10 looks like a fun little camera...would've been even more fun if the price wasn't so overinflated. I hear what you are saying about Canon color & aesthetic but the xc10 is clearly an experiment by Canon with a mix match of ideas. Im sure you can get great images out of it like anything with a lens & shutter these days. Idk just not impressed with what's being pushed on us for $2000

I'm confused cause not too long ago there was an article on this site that made the xc10 look shitty in terms of concept, it was ignored for the best cameras of the year article and now its leaps and bounds better than the sony rx10 iii ? if the image quality is similar as the rx10 ii then what changed ? The 0.95 green thingwill throw the calibration off. I'd advise against that color shift thing. Idk where ya'll got the idea to do that but in my experience it affects the color accuracy cause all its doing is removing green from the color channel and throwing everything else off. You better off shooting with -2 or -3 saturation to prevent channels from clipping and it will also ensure compatibility with filmconvert when its released @NX1user

the image quality of the nx1 is leaps and bounds better except for 1080. The 1080 slow motion from the rx10 ii is incredible and even cuts well with downscaled 4k footage. Can't say t he nx1 does that

I tried using 1/40 shutter and I like it. Good call ! I never cared for those "rules" anyway. Learn the rules so you can break em...that's how I see it.

got the rx10 ii but I doubt the xc10 is the big jump in quality people are looking for. No big jump in quality but a big jump in price in comparison to similar options. A friend of mine is gonna pick one up so i'll wait to see what he can do with it ! The Canon colors are incredible but I am kinda upset it isn't constant aperture
