@lucabutera sure ! Put a warming filter to kill the blue light and give you better skin tones. I use a warm black pro mist. Generally you expose -0.3 or -0.6 enough to preserve detail in midtones then I grade with impulz LUT's over the filmconvert 16mm to add contrast to the grain and texture to the image

Def gonna try this out. I like the fact that you are trying to make the hack as lightweight and unobtrusive as possible. Keep the camera speedy ??

Thank you ! If you have FILMCONVERT you can access there super 16mm grain. It softens the image as well of your after that look. Good for the nx1 sharpening

Damn ! Was it the aesthetic of the smaller sensor or was the codec full of artifacts ? I read on one of these threads you opted for the a7sii. You still like it ? I wanna go Sony but I cant deal with that blue channel clipping shit from the a7s. I found out the hard way it clips blue and ended up getting cussed out by a client lol. @Oliver Daniel

Im extremely interested in picking this up as a second cam. Interchangeable lenses are cool but gets annoying for run n gun stuff where you have no shot list. I missed hella shots swapping lenses at events and concerts before, need something like this that can alleviate that issue for me

@vaga thank you ! It def is a look I would use for one of my projects. I like the video you showed me but I've gotten better results in low light with my settings. Don't mean to sound like a dick but I wasn't too impressed with those low light shots especially at that -5 contrast setting and that sharpening. Some of the shots were really good tho but there's excessive NR. I will do an official 1600-3200 iso test sometime this week.

Confidence plays a big role in our business, it will help you interact better with your subjects. Always act like your SUPPOSED to be holding the camera and everyone will start to act accordingly, you wont stick out as much I guess hahahah

new footage of the nx1 at 180 mbps. I wanted to see if I could get the camera to display macroblocking with high motion scenes but fortunately I was unsuccessful. I graded it to taste of course and used the super 16mm grain to cause it cuts back on sharpness. I can't see myself shooting without the bitrate hack to be honest it's amazing

@mercer it looks good as something to just pick up and go. Im hoping I can get one on ebay cause its probably not worth paying full price. Im eyeing a rx10 ii for $400. If I get that I'd throw the slr magic anamorphot on it

@BasiliskFilm i havent seen anything with a gimbal yet but you are right about the stabilization. If I were to pick this up I'd throw a loupe on it and use mf lenses

I kinda am not gonna lie. Doesnt take me more than 3-5 days to move equipment ! Good thing im not stuck with a shitty body for video like the time I nearly bought a canon 6d. Totally dodged the bullet with that one lol. Theres no full frame or apsc touching it at 1600 and below thats touching the nx1 in quality so I guess the body im waiting for aint even made yet. Im gonna get a "workhorse" camera for general use, anything to avoid wear and tear on the nx1. Canon xc10 and sony rx10 ii seems interesting @mercer @vaga yeah ! What about it ? Any particular thing that caught your eye ?

Yup, I literally only installed the hack for the bit rate stuff. All that other stuff with the focusing and blah blah was useless to me. Like you I rather only have stuff that improves the image quality. 180 mbps has spoiled me. Cant tell you the last time I seen macroblocking !

That article was on the money. Recently it hit me that it makes more sense to rent because it really doesn't matter what camera you shoot with these days. Its you making the images and its you the clients pay for. This is a business of reputation. Its who you know, not what you have. I understand some agencies do ask for an equipment list but I guarantee you they care more about the portfolio you send them than that. Clients can careless they just want the end result to make them feel like they got more than what they paid for in terms of quality. I make sure I have all the lenses I need for passion projects but other than that...renting makes more sense.

I am not looking forward nor am I willing to run two different hacks. Things were looking up when everyone is on the same page. Its gonna be inconvenient having to run two different hacks in the future so for now I will not update the firmware or the hack til I get more clarity on how it would work in the event we actually do have to use two hacks smh

Bro if I only did photo without question the NX1 is it ! Can't tell you one complaint I have in the photo department, the RAW stills are incredible. The differences between all these camera models are miniscule at best now. The nx1 is a good balance in a lot of areas....so yeah im keeping it and hopefully kinoseed unlocks more stuff
