Didn't think of that. What about a camera with an intel i7 chip, nvidia graphics card & SKYNET artificial intelligence that shoots & directs for you and assures you that its not a consumer camera ? Sound cool enough ?

Anybody compared an NX1 w/ 18-200 to XC10, RX10, FZ1000?
kidzrevil replied to Shaun Walker's topic in Cameras
Funny, I haven't ran into the RX10 II 4K softness issue you mentioned. You think your copies lens just may be messed up ? Could be worth looking into it. How is the stabilization on the 16-50 ? @Andrew Reid @Shaun Walker it may be worth looking into the xc10 or the rx10 ii to travel with. I have the RX10 ii and its pretty good -
@John Matthews my guess is stabilization will be the new wave. I can see companies trying their best to give us good in body stabilization i.e. panasonic

people sleep on these cameras because the average joe could go into B&H and buy it. They perform admirably as seen here. Whether you pick up the G7 or a6300 you aint losing but the film "I shot on a RED before !" snobs refuse to admit it.

I shot an event with an rx10ii yesterday all in 1080p and loved the image and how quick it is to grade 1080 footage on my system. Shot something last week with the nx1 @ 4k and loved the color and the way the image looks like moving stills. I acknowledge that both these cameras have different aesthetics so I've been using them on different shoots where I can exploit their strengths. Point I am trying to make is pick the camera that looks good to you and ignore the technical stuff like resolution cause its not hard to adapt a workflow for 4k & 1080.

Turn your external mic volume up and the in camera audio volume down. It helps lower the audio noise floor When they allow us to load film stock into our digital cameras you'll get the non-video image you are looking for ?

@Sekhar this is why I said "I" as in myself. Reframing in post doesn't work for ME. It is not MY style so I always aim to get my composition right in camera or I just delete the clip. im glad that it works for you though as it does for other people :-)

anyone have the contax zeiss 35mm f1.4 ? PM me
-
nah in your media browser you have to select ingest, and make sure you adjust your ingest settings before hand though
-
I shoot 4K to deliver to vimeo in 1440p. Computer monitors,TV's and streaming services are capable of displaying resolutions up to 4K and it doesn't hurt to take advantage of that. I personally do not think 4k or "consumer" 4k is overrated or some how makes your work look less pro but I seen that flying around this thread and found that to be very interesting. As for cropping/reframing in post I stay away from stuff like that because its usually a sign of bad composition on my part. If your 4K looks too sharp you can try using a diffusion filter, softer lens (at your own risk) or a gaussian blur filter. all in all I see great benefits in 4K but I would agree it isn't the only thing that makes a great image. Figure out how it fits into your workflow or get a camera with 1080 full pixel readout.

I had the 35mm f1.2 , 50mm 1.1 & the 70mm voigtlander, super sharp & beautiful OOF rendering. Too bad I could only use em on e mount cams
-
Is there a thread on here that shows all the c-mount lenses that can cover a m4/3 sensor ? I like the look of these lenses but I shoot stills as well so it would be dope if there was a list setup somewhere
-
Im still dying to know if these cmount lenses will cover a gh4 or g7 sensor. The samples you guys are posting look beautiful

Here's my wants and needs while still being moderately realistic IBIS 200mbps High Bitrate 4k @24p Full Pixel Readout for HD modes up to 120p VLOG L @ 14 stops Pretty much a Panny GX85 in a GH5 body
-
Do you still use the fast color corrector for conversion ? If so do you apply it before or after grading ? @Pavel Mašek
-
@Pavel Mašek yup ! Now I can edit NX1 files without wanting to kill myself LOL. All I need to figure out now is how it handles 0-255 files. Should we use 0-255 or 16-235 ?
-
Contax Zeiss 28mm f2 for sure
-
Yup ! The new ingest setting will create proxies or even transcode the h.265 to cineform if you want. a life saver especially for our hacked footage
-
That proxy workflow is awesomeee tho
-
really wish sony would create a 35-85mm f1.4 constant aperture lens for the next RX10. The RX10ii lens is surprisingly sharp across the board check it out
-
Canon XC10 versus Sony RX10 III. The Canon is underrated!
kidzrevil replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
really love the results I been getting out of the rx10ii. I would love to see a rx10iv with a 28 or 35-85mm (full frame equivalent) lens with a constant 1.4 or 1.8 aperture. And if they can make the zoom and focus system mechanical instead of fly by wire I would give up every lens and cam I own for it. Never realized how useful a bridge camera could be when shooting events -
thanks for this Vasile !
-
@kinoseed that sounds very interesting. HEVC with I-frames only is basically ALL-I mode on the NX1. That sounds like a very promising way of squeezing a bit more IQ out of the nx1 or nx500
-
this just makes me even more excited for the Fuji xt2. oh btw cine1 gamma with pro color is a good alternative to slog with the sony's
-
@vaga not that I know of. If we could find out how they are made that's a big step forward
