Kind of like the story of MLraw. I still look at footage I shot with MLraw vs GH5 and think it looks better somehow... and that's comparing 1080p to 4K.

Make it 40... to me this camera doesn’t even exist. 
Eventually we’ll have footage from John Brawley or Frank Glencairn or Noam Kroll and the footage will look amazing. More people will love it but a few will find something wrong with it...
Eventually card info will be released, and more people will complain.
Eventually AF tests will show up comparing this camera to the PDAF of the a6500 and more people will complain.
Eventually low light tests will show up comparing this camera with the GH5s or the a7sii and more people will complain.
At the end, when it’s released, a bunch of people will complain because they hate that they have to use an IR Cut filter and they will complain that they only get 45-60 minutes of battery life and that they wish it had IBIS...
And eventually the usual suspects will be the only people that have the camera and the footage will be absolutely gorgeous.

When their cheap monitor was announced, I tried to buy it but the shipping & import rates to Spain made it too expensive.
Finally i got a Lilliput A7s with same funtions and identical menu layout.
Another topic of conversation would be the aggressive strategy in introducing a product below its cost to break the market to get publicity or notoriety.

Thats the way it is.
 

Honestly I don't care if it's exactly the same camera (or product) as something already existing as long as there's no hiding or misleading people about that fact.
My friend has a few of their monitors, they are exactly the same as some I have (Feelworld and a few other names). The only thing I think is weird about that company is it's misleading/confusing pricing of monitors and the way in which you order them. That being said people can operate as they wish, it's up to you as the consumer whether you purchase it.

This is where I have face palm every-time someone says it's the same sensor and then go onto extrapolate on why the images aren't (or are! ) the same.  
There's so many things about how you set up the sensor, from how fast you clock it to what other behind the scenes image processing and pre processing you're doing.

Thanks, tweak. I just noticed the scroll bar on the menu... now I  see all the other anamorphic settings, 10bit 4K 4:3, etc.
Didn't see any for 6K as yet, which might be due to the lower megapixel count than the GH5?

I freakin' loved the VX1k! I had it for about 5 years when I first started filming, mostly skateboarding. Then, like many, I upgraded to the DVX100 when that came out. That was a game changer back in the day haha. 
To add to this thread, I recently did some work for a company that had a bunch of Sony PD170s in back of an old cupboard. I asked about them and was given one with a power chord. I'm planning on digging out my old DV tapes and capturing them all, but also want to give it to my kids to play with when they get a little older. I figure it'll be like if my dad gave me a super8 camera.

I wasn't necessarily talking about hybrids. This camera (if it lives up to the claims) punches well above it's weight/price and could give us a better chance of getting similar competitive  products from the other brands (if it does really well). I'd love a product like this from Canon as an example.

Certainly. Brands have been setting themselves up for failure by holding back features in certain price ranges. It only takes someone like Z-Cam to disrupt that, they could really shake up the entire market if they pull it off. Great news for independent filmmakers.
 

I couldn't agree more. They could do a DJI, wherein they suddenly capture a market that already has many players, but nobody offers the features that they do, especially at the price point.

I am not sure why Blackmagic isn't offering higher frame rates for 4k higher than 60p. I am guessing it is to protect their URSA and other cameras? Which may the case with Panasonic too?
If the Z Cam E2 drops their prices slightly, and collaborate with someone for supply chain and after sales, they could actually pull off a mini coup.  
Also, for some curious reason the Z Cam executive Specifically stated the dynamic range as 13.5 stops. It's like they seem to have implemented something unique to them. 
 

... Anywayz.... I got to test the Atlas Orion 40mm on the Kinefinity Mavo. (am also the talent in a few shots since it was just a small number of us). Some of the shots are from another test the night before. I like performance of both lens and camera:

I can't be bothered reading all this cr@p, but anyone who repeatedly brings up a "rumour" with zero proof to it's existence, either has something against whatever it is, or is an idiot (possibly both). It's pretty childish  to perpetuate rumours, if you were ever on the receiving end of such a situation you would understand why.

Maybe Nikon should build a robot with enough AI to work out how to take mirrors out of their cameras

It is most certainly a rumour unless proven otherwise. I see no evidence what so ever to suggest they are re-housed projection lenses... Atlas even provided us with early stage prototyping videos where he's grinding his own glass.
