tweak reacted to Andrew Reid in RED respond to Apple in compressed RAW patent battle
No, that was Canon by accident and Panasonic on purpose.

Ebrahim saadawi sr or jr?

Stutter and judder. Canon and Sony raw works natively in FCPX. The RED plugin doesn't exist. The P6K can only shoot videoish. The P6K can not shoot videoish. He has said so much weird stuff it's impossible to keep track.
Plus he always puts naive flame baits and personal attacks in the posts to try and derail them and shift focus when he knows he is wrong. Classic troll behavior or that of a juvenile.

Don’t confuse my lack of caring as “riding the fence.” I come to this site to learn and to discuss filmmaking and filmmaking gear, not to argue with people that are incapable of admitting when they’re wrong.
24fps has a stutter/judder, end of discussion. It is a fact! In all honesty, the word FLICKER, is probably a better choice, but with semantics aside, 24fps is anything but smooth.

Just read the thread, what a rollercoaster one.
Just waiting for the revelation that the real patent holder for internal RAW is Ebrahim Saadawi.

Looks like it'll cost a few squid.

The rebuttal to the legitimacy of RED's patents from Apple's imaging scientist might as well have said "In summary...This is like Vanilla Ice claiming he owns the rights to Under Pressure"

Why can't canon just do something half decent? I'd kill for an APS-C canon version of a6500 or GH5 etc... Yeah I know why, but still it would be nice.

I've said it countless times, but the internet will facilitate the end of mankind in one way or another.

tweak got a reaction from IronFilm in Z Cam E2 will have ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FPS in 4K??
I don't see any noise issues what so ever with my shots. I mainly shoot Proress 422 48fps.
If you expose properly (as you must with most cameras, just don't overexpose) the colour, detail and DR from this camera punches way above it's price point.

Oh, very much. I've given up on gimbals altogether a few shoots ago. They always fail. And look mechanic.
As for the weight, I'm pretty flimsy, so when I have my Iscorama rig up, (rails, follow focus, v-lock, evf, I'll already feel it at the end of the day. And I only shoot handheld.

Might depend on the size of battery?
This I don't want to have to do to be honest. I could probably live with it. But the point for the C-fast over the ssd for me is easy access and quick turn around.
This is very good to know. First straight answer Ive gotten and I have asked a lot of reviewers. Thanks
I know. But it so far doesn't have it in all frame rates, which are the main attraction over the BMPCC4K for my usage.
But since I recently sold my second BMPCC4K last week its main competition is now a Fuji for 120p. And then it might win

Swapping batteries is actually super simple, it looks like it would be an issue but once you've done it you realise it's easy.
With a smallrig cage Cfast is easy to get to. Mount your handle on the nato rail with a quick release and it's less of an issue (I've found myself hardly shooting with the side handle anymore though).
Image is great. You're right that not much good footage is floating about, it's something that held me back as well.
Crop factor is the same for all codecs/speeds as far as I can see, the only change is if you use the 2.7K super16 crop mode.
You're correct that most reviews online for the cam are rubbish.

You're right, they should stick to one model like every other camera company...

I've mentioned a few times over the years that this lens is limited & not very practical for many filming situations, but I suppose most people don't like searching too far back into the forum's history. It is a nice little lens & the glass is superb, but best for situations where you don't have to film past 5M & you'll need low powered diopters.
You can rack a little, maybe a meter or 2, but not over a long distance - you need a taking lens with a decent amount of focus throw at the 5M mark & the use of a +0.3 or +0.5 helps, as does stopping down the lens a little. I used it for filming concerts, so it was ideal for this as you could focus a little without having to change the diopters all the time & with strong stage lights it flared as well. You can film past 5M, but it won't be tack sharp & Infinity is not an option.
I've no idea how much they go for now, but you'd get better value for money going for a dual focus & then add a variable diopter.

Give a youtuber an Arri and see how they do... you'd probably think it's a bad camera afterwards as well .

Number one advantage: 7D - CF card like 5Diii, higher continuous write speeds.
