Jonesy Jones reacted to Oliver Daniel in New music video for British legends "The Damned", shot on GH5
The video was shot with a single GH5 (with a little A6500 in there) in 10 hours, edited, graded and effects done in 4 days (by me).
The new album (last I heard) was at No.7 in the official UK chart.
I'm a big fan of what Panasonic has done with this camera.
That said, the shining star of this video is the band.

Had a chance to screw around with the  SLR Magic Anamorphot Compact on the GH5S over the weekend. Hell of a  time pulling  focus,  just could not  make out the screen and left my SmallHD behind as I wanted to keep it as light as possible.

Jon you know what dude... screw you. You are single handedly ruining this site because you can’t have a civilized discussion with people. You do what you want. But don’t act like other people are wrong for bumping up ISO because your Leeming LUT rules tell you otherwise.
There are a lot of impressionable beginners or people that don’t have your disposable income and need to raise their ISO because they don’t have access to whatever lighting kit you’ll spend thousands of dollars on.
I could give two shits what you set your zebras at... real filmmakers use light meters anyway.
Good point on sLog2. But there does seem to be a pattern with Log profiles and higher ISOs.
Traditionally DSLR’s and DSLM’s base ISOs were at the lowest setting but once Log profiles were introduced, those base ISOs were bumped up. I assume it has something to do with each individual Log curve and how the information is stretched on the curve? So some curves need the additional brightness of the higher ISO to get a cleaner image?

That video is sort of proof that 4k has Really narrowed the gap between cheap stuff, and Oh My God expensive stuff output wise. Sure the iPhone X doesn't have 16 stops of DR, but I certainly didn't see where it was lacking in that video, and you have to put yourself in the vast majority of peoples shoes, they have no clue what the hell DR even is LoL
I have the X and it has just about every trick in the book, especially if you use the Filmic Pro App. It has more video stuff than my Note 8. Better specs, but I still sort of like the Note 8 output. It maybe the screen, and the screen size that has more to do with it on the 8 than being "Better". Either way both of my phones are capable of some unheard of output even 3 years ago.
I would be damn proud of that video, to most people that is a winner. And what it was taken with just Wow when you think of it. And in your pocket all the time, just a miracle.

I finally got a chance to use the GH5s in a real world interview setting. I'm matching it up with the Ursa Mini Pro and it's looking gggreat. Leica R 60mm.

    BLOCKER by Afternow
A new way to previs with your phone. You can program which camera you'll be using, and different focal lengths. Drop in characters, adjust their height, and sun/light placement. Then figure out blocking. It has a few funky bugs but it's freakin amazing for a free app.

They're primarily designed for seniors but they're equally practical for de-cluttering and making things more useful for those of us who only use a few apps.

I saw the movie a few weeks ago but only now read about it because of this thread.
I can say that this is an interesting genre but the problem is that it only works if you haven't read about it.
So while it worked for me before, had I seen it now I would be much more dismissive.

I watched the entirety of it and only after JJ said to watch it.... And, to be honest, I was highly doubtful in the beginning especially when the artist said something along the lines of hoping/believing what's there less than what could be there....
Made me think that the artist planted the whole thing... It was a back and forth battle thinking that it's real or not real.... "How can there be coral on the statue if it's fake?".. "How can that huge statue be transported on ship?"
I figured some of the dates being presented were fake....
To be honest, I totally missed the Mickey statue... Don't watch this if you have kids running around. Only till you guys told me that I had to go back and rewatch it. I found it weird that there was a statue of a rat at the end... But never put 2 and 2 together... Again don't watch it with kids running around.
In my opinion, they could have taken this another route...
A pirate ship stole most of the items... Some items really show up on eBay.
After the credits- Easter egg that it was faked.

I know this thread is mostly about the content that YouTube chooses to promote in terms of exposure,  but today there has been a lot of rumbling on YouTube and around the internet about the internet browser, Brave, and Basic Attention Token.
I reckon it's worth mentioning here because it seeks to cut out middlemen like YouTube to make a better advertising experience for both creators and advertisers. The browser blocks all ads and third party scripts, then users can choose to watch ads to receive BAT, which they can then distribute to the owners of their favourite blogs, youtube channels, etc.
It's a really fascinating idea. It blew up a bit today because they're giving away $5 worth of BAT to everyone who signs up, which must be distributed to your creators of choice in 90 days.
Read more about Brave here: https://brave.com/million/
And if you're a creator, you can sign up to receive BAT here: https://publishers.basicattentiontoken.org/
Just in case, no, I am not affiliated with this company. I just think it's a cool idea.

It seems like the GH5S is geared more towards production companies, rather than run and gun and hybrid users, which is fine.  My only concern would be that they don't pull features out of the future GH6 just to differentiate it from other models, like many camera manufacturers do.  The hybrid user doesn't want to be compromised in stills or video just because of marketing positioning.  It should have everything they can put in, while keeping it a premiere hybrid camera.

I follow a photographer on Instagram named Adrian C Murray and his work is just breathtaking... there’s a modern day Norman Rockwell feel to his work, even though the subject matter and mediums are different. I believe he shoots with a Fuji.
Also I am a huge fan of Sebastian Kortman, he posts a lot of screengrabs and photos on IG and his compositions and color is gorgeous.
And obviously, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention our own Mattias Burling. His IG page is inspiring. Somehow he manages to get hundreds of likes and views in a matter of minutes. My most popular screengrab has 23 likes and it took about 8-10 weeks to get there... LOL...

I like Amos Chapple (http://www.amoschapplephoto.com/) because (1) he shoots cheap, small m4/3 equipment (smaller bodies, some of the consumer glass) and  still seems to have great results, (2) his stories are very, very interesting and unusual, (3) he goes places I'd never go, (4) his images seem fresh, much of it is content I've never seen before.

This video proves that GH5 "S" is not only a low light camera, but a lowlight sea MONSTER. It also works underwater, as the scene gives us obvious clues to this feature.
Also the use of boats suggest that it will be shipping soon.

Let's ruthlessly dissect and analyze Neumann's first comment of 2018:
First of all, let's look into his first sentence, why did he write "Happy New Years" and not the more common "Happy New Year". Or the more grammatical correct "Happy New Year's Day"?!
What deeper meaning can we mine from this?
& why did he next say "everyone", does this hint at a well rounded GH5s being a camera for "everyone"? Suitable for wedding videographers, news reporters, film students, doco shooters, Bollywood and Hollywood big productions too?
