Sorry about this post guys.   I was a little harsh and came off as an asshole.
I don't like the magenta cast on @John Brawley 12K footage.
His technical break down about the sensor was awesome and @John Brawley does some incredible work.

Why is @John Brawley being pushed on us so much across the EOS and the net today?  I thought real DP's don't hang out on the EOS?
The proof will be in the footage not how technical someone talks about the NEW sensor.
Let @John Brawley compare the BM12K to Alexa, RED and Venice and see if it falls apart.  How much you wanna bet he never does that test?
I really don't need a BM cheerleader to push their cameras.

I guess that it is impossible to build a camera without one or two flaws (not saying that is the case of the new Canons, they have more than this). And even only with one or two flaws, will be people calling the camera "completely unusable".

If Panasonic release a GH6 with 4k120 no crop 4:4:4 12 bit ProRes RAW, clean ISO 12800, Ibis with 15 stops, S35 sensor and $2000 price, someone will shout "but it is not full frame, it's crap" or "I need 4k240 ALL-I, it's crap".

Best (at least in my point of view) is to wait for the real world reviews, with real people using it for real jobs, which know what they are doing. Now it is only paper specs talk and sponsored reviews.

Both cameras don't have LOG profiles; the GX85 could be used in Cinelike D with the magic provided by our own @BTM_Pix. E-M10 MK III have a Muted profile (it is not the Flat Profile from the E-m5 MK II), but never played with that.

I'm in  the camp that thinks that PDAF and IBIS are very useful - still thinking in get a E-M1 MKII or M5 MK III just because of these two points.

Just did not call an Alexa not useful because don''t have both. Could not be useful for me, but don't make the camera unusable.

It was shot from our own @John Brawley, if people come back to treat him well here he could give some useful insights.

Maybe even for the troll of the other thread which says that a camera without IBIS or PDAF is not useful...

Olympus was known for their quirky features.
Nipple detect AF would have rounded out the starry AF feature.
Maybe canon took a page from their book when they implemented brown eye AF tracking?

Marcio Kabke Pinheiro reacted to rawshooter in Canon EOS R5 overheating vs Panasonic S1H and Sigma Fp designs
This is not my point. My point is that Canon - as opposed to all other camera manufacturers that are not part of bigger electronics manufacturers (like Panasonic/Matsushita and Sony) literally manufactures its own chips, in its own three Japanese chip factories (they're listed on this Wikipedia page), which use completely dated processes and chip technology that is far behind current microchip technology.
This is the reason why Canon's electronics and sensor performance has been behind the rest of the industry (which mostly uses Sony sensors), why they noe have bigger heat problems than the rest of the industry - but also why Canon has been more profitable than other camera manufacturers in the past (because it didn't need to buy its chips from other manufacturers).

I enjoy his channel but if ever there was a wrong camera for him it is this one as it would have overheated by the time he got to his second point.

Marcio Kabke Pinheiro reacted to Neumann Films in Andrew Reid AMA
Long time member, infrequent communicator here.
I got into it a bit with Mr. Reid the other day for the first time. After discussing it with him privately, I found that he and I were much more similar in our views than I first thought. He and I both just had bad days...on the same day. So that got me thinking...I spend time here, it has been a resource for me in the past (whether educational or casual reading/browsing). I think it's easy to take a site like this for granted. We tend to just assume there's a team or that it is all automated. It's not, it's one guy and it takes time from his day and other things.
So, I wanted to do an AMA and get to know him a bit more. I will start it off. Please post questions in bold + italic and tag "@Andrew Reid".
@Andrew Reid What art form interests you the most outside of film? Also...what is your favorite CURRENT local restaurant (no chains)?
PS...I know Andrew is too humble to make this sticky or pin it. But I think it should be. If it is sticky or pinned it's because I'm requesting it.
I think it would be good for the health of the site for people to have a better sense of who is behind it. It would add a personality that would make things more civil and you would probably notice that you don't get stressed as much. 🙂

Always thought why cameras with flip screens do not use the back part of the body (exposed when the LCD is flipped) as a passive radiator.

    1) Are they going to make a new DVX200 based on the GH5 internals ?
    2) Are they going to make an L mount EVA1 ?
    3) Have they had a refund from the market research company for that new vlogging camera ?
