People are getting huffy about Kinefinity not being on the approved ProRes license list and are using that fact as a club to knock anyone who praises the company and their cameras. I think.

If I had the capital, I'd plunk down for one of these today. Looks like an amazing package, and the image off the 6K Kinefinity sensor is just beautiful.

As you have Nikon lenses I'd recommend the NX1

If you'd have Canon lenses you'd be stuck... as then you couldn't use the NX1 And Panasonic would make more sense then.

Two new Blackmagic cameras that will feature amazing specs and "will ship in August."
I'm already mentally prepared to preorder and then wait for a year for it to actually ship based on previous experiences. 

Nikon will be removing the tiny 4K time limit on the D5 in a future firmware update I read on NR.
 
As for the issues with the D5/D500,  have we forgotten already how *bad* the first ever HDSLR was from Nikon? But then fairly quickly they got ok, and then eventually surpassed Canon.
I reckon the same will be true with 4K, this is just their first 4K camera. Give them a little more time and we'll see a Nikon D5700 come out eventually which does wonderful 4K for cheap!

Yes... some great stuff there to see though. 
There's a thread on RedUser about the Terra - bloody hell some of those guys probably wear pyjamas with the Red logo on them. Lots of negativity towards Kinefinity. Insane.

I don't understand how a 4k option would at all, impact those who don't use the video function. I also don't understand why 1000 people feel the need to vote "I don't care" if they truly don't care. It is annoyingly passive-aggressive.

That  would be the KiniMINI which has dropped in price to US$2K

Problem for me is ignoring the price difference with the c300ii and the added features compared to a c100ii.

From the decent footage I've seen from the Kinefinity cameras, I think it has one of the best images on the market. 
These new Terra cameras almost sound perfect, so what's the catch? (yes, they come from China and only have HD Videoshop in Berlin for distribution in Europe). 
The features look great, but i'm mostly impressed with the weight/size. 
I'll be keeping an eye on this one. 

Maybe someone will make a control unit for it that attaches to the COM port!

This was shot all on Kinemini 4k (except the drone shots).
 
Some pretty weighty grading especially where we had to coax magic hour out of scenes shot at high noon. I would say I pushed the camera pretty well but still had more latitude to give.
Lowlight is an area where the camera suffers- shadows can be quite noisy. I am currently upgrading to the KineMOUNT which will allow me to attach a speedbooser (Kinehancer), getting the crop factor down to about 1.15x and adding another stop of light.
I am considering grabbing a KineMAX as well, but feel as though while it is a great value camera, my money would be better invested in glass right now. But I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade to a cinema-style camera.

My Kinefinity is currently in China receiving a mount upgrade.
This system has a lot of potential. They're like the inverse of Black Magic. No buzz/hype about them, but they actually deliver.

Yeah I've loved the look of these guys and always wanted one. Their Golden 3K cineform on the 6K is my dream format to work on and it would allow me to use my Nikon glass on a native mount. Tempted to get a loan and buy two just to rent them out, no one is doing that in east coast USA and a ton of cinematographers I think would be interested in trying them out. Hopefully this new camera pushes the prices of the old one's down.
