"Itchiness" is only relative! If you have a beard then go clean shaven it feels damn weird and itchy like mad! But then after a while that too passes.

That's the sole reason I stopped visiting the site too. It smacks of too much bias. They have brands that they glorify, and others they try to run to the ground.

Canon and Nikon have legacy advantage, Olympus/Panasonic have advantage of a well established and very well supported mount, Sony has advantage in sensor tech and huge IP assets in that field. What's gonna be Samsung advantage? Higher framerate? Thats far from enough.

One of the most insightful non-technical things I've ever learnt is that you hire crew to make you look good. And if you're hired as crew, your job is to make the boss look good. That's it -- your technical specialty and how good you are at it is just the barrier to entry, your actual job is to make the producer/director/whoever-your-boss-is look like they know what they're doing by hiring you and not someone else. So as crew, if the client is around you should know better than to have your phone out on set. If it's urgent, let someone know and walk off set. I mean how does anyone make it as regular crew anywhere unless they have a sense for what's appropriate or not appropriate on set? And if you're a producer hiring people you can't trust to have that kind of sense, then you need to hire better people, full stop. The buck stops with the person holding the cash.

That's Shane Hurlbut, and Christian Bale spent quite a bit of time apologising for that outburst. Regardless of what crew did or didn't do, Bale's reaction was deeply unprofessional and has no place in any workplace.

Hey Glenn, G7 even fits better. Just the buttons are worse regarding size and clicking. Colors are great to grade. And it works well at iso 1600 in lowlight, better than G6 at 800.

FIRE! Everything is more fun with that :-P

Are those special stunt bricks, rubber ones? Or just normal bricks?

Is about three years and a bit I've had it.

But once it was only a year or two long then it pretty much stopped growing any more.

Did anyone notice the seat created out of apple boxes that DoP was leaning/sitting on? I found that amusing.

Oh, and the hat I was wearing I got given the day beforehand for FREE! :-D
As we were shooting in clothes store.

or anyone to operate it?! Haha!
It always amazes me how people underestimate sound. In 20 years of working experience and a degree in sound engineering (plus others in filmaking) I still can't tame sound as I want.
Anyway, there are such mics, with long active cables and capsules on their end, and goose-neck type (but not strictly for podiums or just speech). DPA has a bunch of everything, Scoeps and even Rode has a few. But I guess, the DPA ones cost 1.3-2K of money, and I know most people wouldn't pay more than 200€ gor anything sound related! Proven again and again.

Fast zooms are not as common as they should be. I wish there were like 2-3 zooms for the M43 ecosystem that could relieve filmmakers and photographers of the headache of constantly changing lenses to reframe shots. Also if they were Fast, low light wouldn't really be an issue.
I wish Olympus and Sigma could perhaps collaborate on the following Zooms:
    1. 12-25mm f2.
    2. 24-50mm f2.
    3. 45-100mm f2.
Also if they could have good OIS and smaller sizes, along with being under $1500, it could be a runaway success.
DO you think they should some other specifications for zooms in the M43 ecosystem? Or would you prefer constantly changing lenses?

i think banning phones is going to make people hate you, so Id just ask for phones to be on silent, making the point that some boogeyman producer wants NO PHONES AT ALL, but i thought that was unreasonable. see im nice ?

If you're hiring people who you can't trust to keep their phones from ruining takes, then you need to ask yourself why -- not to treat crew like school kids. If I've caught up on what I need to do and I'm ready to roll at a moments notice, but we're just waiting for one thing or another, I see no reason why I shouldn't check my email. Besides the fact that quick responses to emails gets you more work, I wouldn't work for a producer who can't trust me to know when I should look at my phone or not.

Also, if you see the time you pay as "your time", then it's your responsibility to make sure that there is as little down time as possible. If you can't keep your crew occupied, then that's your fault, and it's frankly unreasonable to demand your crew not check in on the state of their own business when they have nothing else to do.

Sad to see that Cinema5D is still spreading their damage even today.
That review in particular along with many others is one reason why I just stopped reading Cinema5D.
Wonder how many sales of the Samsung NX1 that Cinema5D caused damage to?

Firstly this review was with the old firmware and Samsung addressed most of the issues with the later firmware.
The credibility of Cinema5D is probably less than Mata Hari the double agent. And their ability to take criticism is worse than Uwe Boll.
The sheer number of rude comments on this very post of Cinema5D highlights the very problem with brazenly biased reviews. They wrote a scathing initial review of the GH5 too calling the Vlog a joke or unusable or something on those lines. I believe Panasonic threatened to sue, so they took down their article to re-write It, removing all the vitriolic rubbish that had made itself to the initial review.
This kind of shamelessly biased writing dismisses any hope of credibility.

That's more than a lot of full frames of that time (including the 5D Mark ii and iii).

Sir, you are, to put it mildly, talking out of your ass. I'd shot Canon for years before jumping to the NX1 as my main photography camera (commercial, portraits - studio and outdoors), and it's not even fair competition to the Canon (ever tried lifting the shadows off black hair on a Canon?). The NX1 has an insane dynamic range, and I find it does comparably well next to a Nikon or Sony. And I say this as someone who still uses the NX1, and has done photo shoots side by side with a Sony A7R2 and a Nikon D850.

A pair of the flat type over ear headphones with enough grunt could do the trick as well where you just cut the left one off with a pair scissors. We could market it as the Van Gogh solution.

Actually the 5D Mark ii and iii had pretty low dynamic range (lower than the Panasonic GH5 cameras at base ISO). And let's not forget the soft HD for video. Evey camera has its issues and limitations, somr way more than others.

If they do come back with a new camera it would be hilarious if they announced it had RAW and was being released on April 1st.
This forum would turn up outside their door like this.
With a lone voice pleading to think of the children.
