With the announcement of bankruptcy we thought this was all over?
But no!
Fran is the camera which keeps on giving!

I love his response!
"you can do that once you've refunded everyone else first...."

IronFilm got a reaction from kye in ARRI ALEXA Mini LF
There certainly is some content which ends up on YouTube, I'd have worked on a few like that.
But yeah, most would be going to TV/paid streaming/TVC/theaters/etc

"To start from"??
They're better off chucking out everything they've got into the fire and burning it to hell!
Then starting again completely from scratch. (or even better.... not starting it up again)

IronFilm got a reaction from webrunner5 in Arri Alexa. No Camera is Perfect!
LOL! And that is just on the "big boy" Alexa, it has only got worse since then for audio! (exception: AMIRA)

Awesome! Arri is set for another 10 years of camera domininating. Hopefully one day I can afford one.
Also prepare for the following posts:
What no IBIs, what no autofocus, noisy at iso 3200... what a dealbreaker ?

How about the RX100 M1 or the G7X M1?
Either can be gotten below $200 used. Both have usable autofocus and usable 30/60fps 1080p
The G7X has a 3 stop ND filter and a touchscreen and it will achieve the same level of background blurriness as an APS-C kit lens while having 100mm FF equivalent focal length.
They are both pocketable and cheap enough to not worry about losing them/theft
Both don't have mic ports though

From my perspective it has got a slightly somewhat smarter body design for audio, at least compared to the original Alexa Mini which was pretty awful.
The timecode connector is in a more sensible location, and it has gained an internal scratch mic (wish it had four track recording, like say the FS7 has, then you could have both internal scratch mics plus an external audio source being recorded all at once). Plus the audio input is no longer in the awkward spot at the front, but why oh why did they have to change the Lemo connector to a completely different type??? (previous it was 5 pin Lemo line level only, now it is a 6 pin Lemo connector for audio. Oh well, I guess that is yet more audio cables I must buy)
No.

IronFilm got a reaction from Mark Romero 2 in Budget Video Camera for 13-year-old son (and wife's vacation)?
You might get lucky finding an Olympus E-M10 III or Panasonic G85 secondhand for near ish to your budget?
Otherwise go for the older Olympus E-M10 II which can be found even cheaper.
I remember filming with my a5100 years ago and it would overheat after every take! So very frustrating

IronFilm reacted to Kisaha in Z CAM S35 camera
Hey, Mr Zhang, I want my Z E2 to have a sound man build in as well. Modular design of course - who needs those all the time?
......{waiting for reply}......

Internal ND's are a must. Would be nice if they threw in an SD card slot as well for lower bitrate recording.
The awesome thing about this camera is the recording options. RAW as well as H264 and H265, and Prores(I assume they will put in Prores as well?)
4k 120fps would have been a really smart move even if it means making the camera larger.

That would be a great solution for a reasonable person.
But it is my wife we are talking about here...

You sound jelious of Sony. Canon is back in 2008. Nikon is kicking their ass. Fuji is biting the other butt cheek. Canon and is going to be Casio down the road if they don,t wake up. Casio was king shit also back in the day. So was HP and Kodak. Everybody bites the dust, man or company I don,t give a crap who you are.

IronFilm got a reaction from Emanuel in Huawei P30 Pro - Means business?
Yup, their prices are still too inflated for me to bother with vs a more modern and massively cheaper smartphone.
Am considering buying very soon a secondhand LG V20 or a Moto G5 (not the Plus version, lacks a replaceable battery) or a LG G5

Wake me up when they put a 1" sensor in a cellphone again.
Sadly the Panasonic CM1 is still the only smartphone to do this.
You should start up an "AudioHD" (Audio4K? Audio16K??) forum as well!
