LOL In fact : ) I guessed so. I also love 42.5mm f/1.7 on MFT. I know your love for that other f/1.2 ; -)

Yeah M43 gets expensive as they have to make those extremely fast lenses to compensate for the sensor. I am more of a fan of APSC.

For me M43 only works that well with cameras like the GH5S where you can boost the ISO so you don't need super fast lenses. Not to say the GH5 isn't a great camera but its very limited in low light compared to other bigger sensors of the S.

I just looked up on You Tube at footage on the mk III and on average it looks no better to me than any modern Smartphone footage, other than maybe low light stuff. Now the video Andrew did was damn good, but he could have damn near done that with his cellphone also. I just don't see it. I'll stay with my iPhone X. Like I said in another thread, I just don't see most m4/3 cameras anymore as a great buy.
And I don't know how long this thing has been out, but this is one hell of a Gimbal for a phone. And it is cheap and light. Pretty amazing. I think I will buy one.

You make a very good point, but then you are getting away from native lenses, and particularly Panasonic can't focus it own native lenses worth crap, let alone a Nikon or Canon lens on a SB. Sure MF works fine and that is a plus. But then there are plenty of cheaper Cine lenses that are already fast and wide with a MFT mount.
But the draw of a small, light camera has gone out the door since the Sony A7 came out. Most good Panasonic bodies for video are as big as DSLR's anymore. Even the G9 is a Moose. I can take my A7s and put my 55mm f2.0 Super-Takumar on it and be as small as nearly any m4/3 camera. And I can set it to say f5.6 at infinity and never have to touch it focus wise unless I am taking shots of really close stuff.
But yeah the new Olympus EM10 mk III does seem like a good option for the money I can't argue about that camera. I am not saying m4/3 is useless at all. It is I am just not going to buy any new ones or lenses anymore. I would go the Fuji X-T3 route now over m4/3. I personally don't see the advantage they have now, the GH5, GH5s is an exception on the video side, unless you are into birding, sports. Then something like the Oly 300mm, or the Panny 100-400mm on a EM1 mk II makes a lot of sense, at least to me.

A lot of it is laughably blatant.
Whatever happened to subtly and subliminally pushing your brand at people?
Anyway, I'm just going to have this cup of coffee and watch this develop with a keen interest.

As always Jon you have proven to be the biggest fucking asshole on this site. When you venture out of your post office and stop acting like you are a professional cinematographer then maybe we can have an intelligent conversation until then spend your entire retirement money on equipment that is wasted on you and keep your tired old jabs to yourself. Otherwise have a good day.

I am surprised it even had 1080p in it that long ago. I think most Olympus stuff back then was still 720p..

I assume you think you are one of these $10k level photographers?
Seems odd that you waste your days being bitchy on a forum and filming test footage with early teen children.
This thread was a really nice one until you arrived, just professionals discussing craft. Like many other threads beforehand, you've filled it with your brand of negativity.

girlfriend or not, his review was extremely fair.  He put it through its paces, as Jon said.
also, it's a free review.    so don't complain.  you spent no money on his hours and hours of work on the review that he puts out for free, or maybe for some advertising on their page.
excited to test out the camera when it becomes available.

You are the most sensitive little Farang I have ever come across.
And I think you are a bit of a coward when editing your post like that. You know as well as I that that wasn't your original post. But two can play at that game
Unlike you I dont believe that my needs and wants apply to every one and everything.

Liar. I said that some didnt care. But what ever, I care so little about your opinion of me that its not even funny.

This thread is probably dead in the water until the camera is released so I will leave it until it is. I suggest you do the same and film some "students" or what ever you crazy crackers are calling it.

Jon, here in Greece the couples that are getting married really do not really care about image quility. They care more about the brand(if the photographers are famous). I have seen some terrible video in the wedding industry and people are loving it because they are just... bad. And also the wedding industry will always be male dominant. She just got famous of good marketing as you can see because her image is terrible. Marketing is key.

I was going to film a wedding in a Church and I saw those two guys before me shooting there with 2 a7sii without lighting and I asked them. Where is are your lights? 'Muh a7sii shoots at 25000 iso'. I lost it there. And these guys are booked a full year.

I think like a lot of gentlemen of a certain age, I have an attachment to 50mm as its what we all had as our standard lenses when we got our first SLRs and used them to shoot dinosaurs roaming in the local park.
I'm sure Google has a way of generating EXIF from any image so when they tire of snooping on us electronically and invent a way of physically sifting through our cupboards and drawers undetected they'll scan all those negs and slides from latter part of the 20th century and we'll find that about 75% of pictures were taken on a 50mm.
I never really bought into the 50mm being closest to what the eye sees - or at least concentrates on for want of a better expression - but its not totally far off.
I suspect its probably even less so now though for people who have grown up looking at the world through a 28mm equivalent on their iPhones as they have developed a wider (yet simultaneously narrower  ) viewpoint of what is standard.
Anyway, a couple more from the 7Artisans 50mm f1.1 at narrower apertures to balance out the previous glowfest examples of shooting it wide open.
