  1. Funny. I didn't find any delay. Yesterday, I went to my nephew baptism. I arrived very delayed with traffic coming from another town. I forgot to add the SSD, used to the SD card to record ProRes. In a few seconds, I picked up my SSD from a tiny photo bag and started to shoot BRAW Q5 practically instantaneously... I did find zero delay in-camera to be pretty honest : -) BTW, in a word: BEAUTIFUL. This is more than a camera, more than a format, this is a dream to finally become true.
  2. Really? Real world feeling is instantaneously... as much as ANY other similar device. Actually, it is. I feel people outside tend to see it as a RED ONE. It isn't in every aspect whatsoever. Not even 5:1 compressed raw. You can reach 3:1 or constant quality mode(s) recording raw, let alone not complicated at all, so...
  3. Exactly the same impression from some little information so far though, so yours counts indeed : ) Thanks for your input expressed here. : -)
  4. Seems they rule all the other areas except electronics: https://leica.pt/assembly/?lang=en#
  5. As matter of fact, same thought here and asked exactly that. The people with whom I've chatted with, they were very proud of their product. Their info seemed legit to me. Thanks for the link. I'm afraid this is not the whole picture of the real thing, though. I just reproduce the contact I had in person. Maybe some models are in one factory, other models in the other one. But even when I asked about that, they hinted me the Portuguese factory is their main production house. I just know what I listened in first hand, that is, from people working there. I will even try to reach them again with that one and check that.
  6. What I've heard from people inside there, is: Design and final assembly, as well, packaging happen in Germany. Everything else in their Portuguese unit in V. N. Famalicão, which means the most part indeed. I've retained something like 80-85% last time I heard, a year ago or so. That 'made in Germany' is well worthy and one of their major selling points. Reason why they do it like that. Other than that, they would probably have the whole manufacturing line in Portugal. Not my words though : -) I can give you another example. In 70-80s my family was used to pick up TV sets only about 20 kms away of Leica's factory today, from Grundig factory in Braga (our first two color TV sets came from there... Blackmagic color science was still a bit far away then LOL my father was friend of their man in charge there, a nice German engineer BTW, I was their volleyball team's player in mid-80s, we were used to put our eyes on those girls with German surnames from mixed marriages : D) and every units had that famous 'made in Germany' graciously inscribed there despite to be fully manufactured and assembled in my native country (I guess, only packing was used to happen in Nuremberg, very likely, not sure of this latter one though ; -)
  7. Mate, Portuguese origin can't be plastic... Our country sums 9 centuries of history! LOL ; -)
  8. Germany? I don't think so... https://leica.pt/?lang=en German Design, made in Portugal... About 40 kms away of where I am now : -)
  9. That weight would be really nice, expensive though : )
  10. Indeed. Missed the video. Shocking for superb in fact or anything else?

Indeed. There's no similar monochrome anywhere else... Absolute. Magistral. Unique of a kind. Your glass match perfectly fits to couple your luminous framing as well, keep up your good shooting : ) Just waitin' for X-H2 to arrive in 2020 very likely to follow the promising Nokia 9 Pureview B&W much earlier : -)
  12. Not only him, as well, more than two hundred of commenters so far there in the respective comments section to follow 1.2K likes vs 16 thumbsdown, about 100 against 1 actually ; ) Fully agreed, Glenn. Alas, human beings are not so linear to live with their own options route : ) Well, not really a surprise when people thoroughly catch a glimpse of their own resources to become wastefully outdated, let alone when they were prior seen as pure first-rate just a few time earlier not so long back : -)
  13. Some criticism is welcome, some other is people getting a justification for themselves why they don't need to perform some investment instead : ) Most part of time because they've just oriented their funds in some other direction. Worse when people pretend to convince the world of their own choices in disguise of intended facts.
  14. Thanks for the thread : ) We've been discussing the topic this afternoon: I guess the achievement is well worthy hence the new discussion corner for.
  15. Anyone interested to put some sort of questions not exactly suitable to answer here, address them in the right place, not OT not in this thread please : ) You can easily reach me with a private message to my inbox. Thank you all for your understanding : -)
  16. Even 4K. Unless events are your game. 5:1 can save you space in the case you want the highest quality but keep space for it. 3:1 is the new "uncompressed standard" but I'd tend to frankly use Q0 for.
  17. For sure! : ) You might use 8:1 though if you'll want to keep your slowmo or shadows pretty safe.
  18. Yes, I believe you're right : ) I guess we have now both Q0 and Q5 as the best PRO and casual routes respectively, at least to me. 8:1 as general setting, 12:1 for other than slowmo and non demanding brightness shooting conditions, even though, I'd rather select Q5 instead then. source: https://ymcinema.com/2018/11/06/blackmagic-raw-braw-vs-cinema-dng-cdng-comparison-and-insights/
  19. God, that's just made my T5 931GB obsolete! What a buyer's remorse, right now! LOL : -)
  20. LOL I have the first gimbal designed for P4K under 1 kg and a half for you! ; -) I thought about that. That's not good indeed, even though, if Peter Jackson didn't need it, will we? In any case, they should keep it there. You can always install it backwards as you wish and need, I guess, isn't it?
  21. Yes, Filippo has become the "name" of this sensor class LOL : ) Because BRAW will join Resolve to mainstream name as much as DaVinci was before to be bought ten years ago by their own hand. https://library.creativecow.net/article.php?author_folder=wilson_tim&article_folder=blackmagic-design_buys_davinci_pt1&page=1 CinemaDNG is also ten years old now but looks like pretty clear they didn't feel the need to buy it from Adobe then. Seems to become outdated now. Blackmagic is what RED declined to be... a proprietary system has the right timing in order to be introduced. Without mention a mandatory rule they've decided to comply, that is, to let it open. E : -)
