Not really. These cameras are much user friendly. Easier to shoot with one than with any mirrorless camera these days. Boring automated devices fully messed up IMO. P4K seems an old film stills camera centered on ISO & WB controls but for motion picture in hybrid age. HFR or not + shutter at the distance of a button or alike without forgetting the best of the digital world: zebras and focus assist. Not even need for other tools very easy to get from the most intuitive menu I've ever found in a camera and you can set off by default. Set up your lens aperture and that's it. You can even select a LUT of your preference. Import anything you want. Lots of free stuff out there BTW. A breeze, my friend. What else a shooter can ask? Test one Don to begin with ; ) E : -)

In this Christmas eve, a brother of mine who is self-centered in still photography quoted this MFT format as the most versatile ever for motion picture because of glass options. I second all that with an extra add-on to his comment, my known perspective as well. The most affordable path a filmmaker can find. The indie tool per excellence. Coppola's dream 3-4 decades ago. For somewhat reason he ended to choose the GH2 over Alexa & RED, I guess. Much of these manufacturers (with their respective departments line) work on Saturday and can even surprise you to answer along their Sundays. Without mention they are competently responsive. Pretty impressive : -)

Although, not enough to convince you to join us Pocket 4K lovers ; ) Yet. LOL This Z Cam E2 is the only one closer to match. Pity they didn't add a 5-inch monitor for 50% plus. May they build a worldwide support channel like BMD, they would be able to compete with then.

Everything you say it is correct. Certain truths concur as well though. You may have no need of a much higher bit rate and better codec or a larger and more useful monitor experience for example. These or those features are yet there. Z Cam E2 4K/120p, as for instance. No matter they fit your cup of tea or not. Impossible to ignore or underestimate them. I just make mention for the sake of objectivity, regardless personal tastes or affections of your/my/their own : -)

But this applies to every case, isn't it? Where the Osmo Pocket can be the only one to fit your pocket where the Arri doesn't serve to even open the Pelican case, isn't it? I mean for most usual situations where continuous autofocus as said and for instance won't help you anything, one is preferred over the other. People focus in nonexistent or insignificant issues to justify to themselves to be out of the boat for some other reason : -)

I have used both. It is not in any aspect. I'd even dare to say coupled to a gimbal, go figure, if AF hadn't been updated.

Have you ever shot with this camera? Do you have in mind the body design and how useful that monitor actually is?

Can you explain what this means, please? This makes little sense to whom had played with this camera... Do you know something? This P4K is the EASIEST device to work with! Dare yourself to play with one... ; -) Try to shoot SOC with any without lens, media, etc and you'll get the meaning of it LOL P4K doesn't even have the need for any extra monitor at all because has the BEST one of the playground! ; ) I can only infer you don't believe me... I've posted all such mantra from yours is a complete myth. You still post it like an undoubtful truth, spreading misleading ideas about this camera. I am not Grant Petty, if I would be him, I would simply be pissed off with you when they put their best to design such lovely piece of filmmaking. Seems RED has served more as model for Z cam, even though, pretty unfair when this E2 ends to be more than a vague promise to comply. Blackmagic milestone is beyond to my book. Agreed. As much as Panasonic with that $500 extra added to the GH5 series for their S version, it doesn't make any sense this premium adding those features they seem to be able to implement it from scratch... If so, why that? Panasonic, as for instance, seems to be towards the 4,500 mark now for their new upper FF flagship. Does it make any sense when seems this segment is losing market for their most affordable offers? Thanks @DBounce to you and rest of the gang too! : -)

Must you know them before they're entitled to be widely accepted? Is that so? It is a perfect myth that perspective. Not more than many others out there. Trust me, this is an user with so many cameras along the way for 30 years now. I have several professional cameras (4K 7 units + 1080p 5 units) when I write these lines... P4K is definitely my fav one ever. And I am really shooting with one, not lurker anymore today : -)

BTW, speaking of devil, will it be able to control tap-to-focus feature from smartphone touchscreen as much as happens with the camera LCD without any lag/delay? Both on camera and smartphone will be available at same time without issues? Have you already test it if so?

I hope DJI and other players may find a way to overcome this threat to everyone, honest drone shooters as well ; -)
