    Your fav late 2023 cams?

Damn, that’s a much better price than I paid even just a few months back, but hey ho. I am really intrigued now what it can do video-wise, especially with the current RED luts and anything future that may come in that regard. I guess I really need to shoot a straight heads up against my S9 because I think it could easily slip into that role as at least a run & gun video unit. That would then mean a switch to Nikon for all video needs which is something I have been complementing for 2026 anyway…

    Your fav late 2023 cams?

Oddly enough, I actually had a dream last night that I had a Nikon Zf. Based on its excellent performance in that dream, I can concur with @MrSMW that it is a great camera. Then this morning I got an alert that the Zf has been reduced to £1400 on Amazon. This might be a sign. Possibly a sign not to eat cheese before bed as I’ve never had such a vivid dream about a camera before. Particularly not one where I was shooting an intimate portrait of the Loch Ness Monster with it.

    Your fav late 2023 cams?

First time back out with the Zf (late 2023 camera!) shooting stills alongside the A7RV this weekend after ditching it (the Zf) in favour of moving over to the Sony early last year. Glad I bought one back. It’s such a great stills camera, my favourite ever now taking over from my previous faves which were the Fuji X100 series and X Pro2. The Zf is like an X Pro2 on steroids. I need to try it for video because that could be a little bit special…

  6. Visited Jikjisa Temple yesterday, which was founded in the year 418, and looks straight out of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Everywhere you turn there are compositions that make you gasp. The main challenge with full sun like this is the high contrast scenes, and then grading them so they don't look faded and also don't have half the image almost while or half of it pitch black. This one has slightly more contrast than I'm happy with, but it gives you a sense of the look things start to drift into. When I'm grading them for real, I think I'll likely use large power-windows and pull things down or up using those. As a reference, here's the kind of shot I'm talking about where the contrast ratios are just overwhelming. The information is all in the files, so I'm capturing it all, I just have to pull it out.
