It looks like you could shoot a clip with a grid or checkerboard by walking around it a bit to get some parallax and then 3D track that in the Fusion tab with the 3D tracker node. As part of the track it will calculate a lens distortion model+values that can be plugged into the Lens Distortion node, or maybe it will auto generate a Lens Distortion node with the correct settings already. I haven't used Fusion, but it seems to mirror the process in Nuke.

Same clip I have used for my YouTube video posted above. Recorded at ISO 800 => so ISO 100 in reality. Just so, that the sky highlights would not clip. For obvious reasons I could not prevent the sun from blowing, but thought it would be a good idea to have it in the frame as the ultimate highlight.
Maybe I will do another clip with ISO 3200 in complete darkness soon, will also publish it here.

One valid reason not to ETTR on every shot is that it creates extra work in balancing exposure in post, versus exposing for middle grey where the same correction should work for each clip regardless of highlight level.

I think the compression acts as a denoiser in someway. But overall that footage looks fantastic. The camera has dual native ISO at 3200 so it should look very clean.

I will probably get the side viewfinder eventually. I am not quite sure if it offers a full hdmi out, which could be beneficial.

I think I will buy the tilt screen modification.

There's the whole issue with uploading to youtube as well, so yes it's better to look at the full quality frames to assess sensor noise. I don't even know if youtube applies a denoise before compressing the hell out of the image, but it would make sense if it did.

I've been importing the cDNG through SlimRAW as 3:1 and they playback much better and I'm able to upscale slightly to DCI 4K for monitoring / exporting.

I should clarify that I think when working in CDNG and 'naked' without BRAW or ProRes RAW it does appear to show the correct false color values on the rear lcd screen with the new firmware, but that false color reading is in conflict with the waveform, zebras and preview.

Inconsistent truly is the word for this...You can use the native preview, it will indeed show correct highlights, BUT false colors are not working and you would need to set the zebras for every ISO value to something different...not exactly an easy workflow.
My goal was to have a workflow which gives me reproducible results and I am glad I have found one. Form factor etc and building a nice rig out of the camera with high quality parts (like the Sigma PL mount adapter and its shimming options) and all is perfect. Software connectivity between Sigma and Atomos is not...
Maybe they get this right in a future firmware release if the word spreads.

Yes, I am afraid that is the case. At least if you consider sensor clipping as the point which it should be at its maximum.

Forgot to mention that you don't want an input transform applied in the color management tab either.

This is a little out of date, but that's the general idea.

Damn someone got a sweet deal on an A7S3!! I agree though, I severely dislike Alpha bodies and rarely if ever use EVF for video. FX3 is the first Sony mirrorless hybrid that doesn’t look/feel like consumer grade photo camera. The active cooling is probably the most significant addition on such small high performance cameras. If Sony indeed adds a few missing cine features like DCI, scopes etc FX3 could be a bombshell!

@TomTheDP Canon R6 uses 1DX3 sensor and hence has abysmal RS in 4K25p (30ms) switching to 4k60p halves the count down to 15ms though, so for fast action better to shoot in that mode on that camera. R5 has much better RS performance.
A7S3/FX3 are the FF mirrorless kings with a whopping low 8.7ms in 4K25p. This alone places them way ahead of the curve for fast movement shots.
FX3 is growing on me, seems like a superb camera for stealthy run & gun.

    S1H has 29.7ms RS in 6K and 24.2ms in FF 4K which actually places it around 1DC (25ms) & A7S (24ms).
Definitely poor RS performance by 2021 standards.

I use Resolve too, but I ingest raw to dpx, exr or prores444 so it's not a problem for me. There's a bit of a trend at the consumer level to edit in raw,  but I only see it as an acquisition format.

There will be several major firmware updates for FX3 to differentiate it from A7S III. They are not made available at launch partly because Sony do not intend to cut into A7S III sales too much.

How would you ever stabilise in post without crop?
This basically has the SteadXP built in. Something all camera's could do with, and Blackmagic previously suggested would come for their cameras, but so far never has. Maybe now it'll start to become a standard.

Welp, it's a very sexy design with Sigma FP vibes, but I'm really surprised it does not have true 24P and shutter angle control at minimum. It does not seem like it's truly compatible right now as a B or C cam with another Sony Cinema cam. And of course I was hoping they would add TC in.
I do think there is bandwidth for further features to be added due to the active cooling. So maybe that is Sony's play here, and we will see some divergence from the a7sIII in the future. But we'll have to see.
At this point I would definitely still look at the FX6 over this camera though.

I can find lots of faults with Fuji, but their colour science is just great...  I think he is confusing smaller cameras destined for Asian markets where skin over-processing is something that is sought for with what the X-T series can output. My X-t2,3 and 4 are stellar in this.  It all sounds like a bad YouTube video reeking of fanboyitis shouting for Full frame good, aps-c bad. I will concede that Panasonic has improved , there was a poster here with one of the S series cameras that posted some great footage, but even that has a video look to it in most cases. Prores raw externally may come eventually to Fuji but I am very happy with great 10 bit log footage as well. Take the C70 for example. Its 10bit output seems better to my eyes than Blackmagic's raw efforts. I have found the 10 bit footage from the X-T3- X-T4 very malleable to correct/transform if exposed decently enough.

Back to the F-X3 now. I read that They just released Cinetone for the A7siii

It's true, the Fuji colours are exceptional at times. I'd love it if the X-T3 was able to output ProRes Raw or something.

We'll soon know what they are thinking. For interoperability with the FX line, at minimum true 24P and I suspect DCI will be required.

Alexa's rolling shutter performance isn't that impressive.
Alexa XT: 8ms in 16:9/4:3 2880 sensor mode, 13ms in open gate sensor mode.
Alexa LF:  14ms open gate mode.
Alexa 65: 15.6ms open gate mode.
