  1. I have been recommending everyone I know who shoots sony to use HLG over log. Sometimes clients like things to be delivered in log though.
  2. They aren't going to usurp the Pocket 4k. Anything they release will be something below it in specs and price(unlikely) or something better than it for a higher cost.
  3. Panasonic needs to release one like this again but with 10 bit in with a GH5S esque sensor.
  4. Yeah I think you have a great very marketable idea, its just the execution. All the advice in here is amazing, I am taking notes haha. To add to what everyone is saying I agree, the video wasn't catching my eye quick enough. I just wasn't seeing the emotion or animal cuteness that I think is probably there.
  5. Yeah bro I wasn't commenting on your work. Most couples like the type of stuff you do. That's the type of weddings I usually shoot as well. Being someone who shoots that stuff all the time though it doesn't really excite me. The reason I'd want it is just to be able to look back on the day years later and see it. But yeah short wedding videos are much more fun to make and edit. Doing those full length 2 hour cuts is a nightmare.
  6. I'd want it but really just coverage not any of the fancy editing with music or staged stuff.
  7. Well to be fair they are really only meant to entertain the people in the wedding.
  8. Seems like the S1 is a pretty darn good choice still, and I am sure the S1H will really take the cake. That said the Z6 will likely be my first full frame camera. The prices on it are just insanely low used. Like any other camera if you get decent exposure and nail white balance your stuff will look good.
  9. Great job man! Preserving highlights and shadows is definitely a lot different with video. You just have to choose what you want to expose for and stick with it, that usually means crushing some shadows or blowing highlights unless you can light your scene. The A73 or A7R3 is definitely an upgrade in terms of auto focus and color. It depends on your shooting style but it can be pretty hard if not impossible to manually focus when shooting solo. More so if you shoot really shallow.
  10. The Internet provides a ton of solutions to many problems for many people. You can choose to focus on the bad part of it. YouTube is also a very useful tool. Entertainment is really meant to appease our more animalistic senses. We could all just be monks but where is the fun in that. Of course some amount of balance is the key. You can be very intelligent and still enjoy stupid comedy. What you enjoy laughing at isn't really a choice. Ethan doesn't only pick on big channels. Ethan Bradberry's channel is nothing in comparison to H3H3. We are talking 35 thousand views compared to over a billion on H3H3, and that doesn't include there podcast and vlog channel. Ethan from H3H3 has said his videos are mostly entertainment and not meant to be malicious and that can be seen when he has people on his podcast. I'd say this is true for most people with the exception of a couple people like Jake Paul which he clearly strongly dislikes. Its a fail your way to the top world on youtube. Do something stupid, people give it attention, and you get more views. Regardless the world has always been a terrible place. We have more resources now to live in comfort and peace than ever before. That's only a good thing in my book. Its pretty easy to forget about the internet when you unplug and spend time with working class people. Most people are just working working working to get by like its always been.
  11. It is but at the same time most of it comes from a vlogging perspective, which Sony and Canon are ultimately better for.
  12. All misfits and crazy people have a place now with the internet and its not going anywhere. Internet is a saving grace for a ton of people though. Easy to look down on it when you live in a first world country where the thing you worry about is some dumb teenager making a prank video. Ethan is cool but he gives a lot of publicity to jack asses like Ethan Bradberry. Most wouldn't know about him without H3H3's videos. Like everyone else he's trying to make money. If the most we have to worry about is Ethan Bradberry I think the world isn't too bad off.
  13. How did that get 15m views tho, gosh Ethan Bradberry is pretty funny tho
  14. I have a hard time faulting a camera for sharpness as long as its not the artificial kind. You can soften things in post can't sharpen them. Would be interesting to see it against an 8K RED. That was a complaint in a comparison of the BM Pocket 4k to the Fuji XT3. The Fuji XT3 is a 6k sensor though, so it should look sharper or more detailed at least.
  15. IBIS to me is a pretty niche thing. Nice for quick shots and travel. Whenever I used it for longer shots I always wished I had a tripod instead. Can't really replicate the smooth pan you get from a nice tripod. Of course a nice tripod head costs you. Definitely pretty useless as a gimbal replacement. Maybe dual IS on some level. It is nice for quick shots though and again I'd buy a Olympus m10 mk3
  16. CineD may have a bit more dynamic range but a lot of people find the color hard to work with. I know a lot of people who use natural on the G7 even GH5. I don't feel like there is a huge difference until you jump up to log recording which neither camera has.
  17. Yeah the G7 is great over the GX85 if you really need those mic jacks. However I'd go for the Olympus EM10 MK3. Its going for $350 now on ebay. You get mic jacks plus IBIS. 4.6k oversampled with a 2x crop. To me that is by far the best deal, plus I liked Olympus color. Of course IBIS is a plus. I am honestly tempted to buy one even having an XT3, XT30, and BM pocket.
  18. GX85 is nice but not mic jack. With the Olympus being so cheap I'd probably go with that, though it doesn't have a flat profile like CineD.
  19. Hasn't Pentax been a niche camera company for a while though.
  20. Very nice for handheld but sucks for gimbal haha
  21. They should make a 1DXMK2 with full frame 4k and log and sell it for $2500. Would be huge probably the top selling camera.
  22. Pretty sure they have the tech. The beloved 1DXMK2 would be a hit now with a couple more features and a reasonable price tag.
