  1. Yeah I agree, I had the guidelines on once but forgot they were there. I imagine it could improve with practice tho
  2. It would definitely be very project dependent and only work for something pretty specific. Potentially a dream sequence or a shot trying to demonstrate someone's isolation, possibly trying to create an other worldly look. For whatever reason I am not a fan of this type of look for photos, but it looks really cool in video.
  3. yeah no such settings exist, some not so sticky gaf tape is your best bet.Just out some cardboard on the screen itself so the tape only touches the plastic.
  4. Not a fan of that first shot in the forest but all the stuff by the water was breathtaking
  5. they need to just start putting this in the camera without the dumb ass code, sony has been doing it for years
  6. That's unfortunate, I wonder if a filter could be installed to fix that issue. I am guessing they left that out for greater stills image quality. Hopefully it'll be different on the S1H
  7. Because black magic markets their cameras as cinema cameras. Panasonic falls in with the rest of the DSLR type cameras, which all have superior auto focus.
  8. Having two cameras exactly the same one with and one without IBIS is weird. An A6200 that is really cheap like $600 seems like a good move though.
  9. Only thing with the Z6 is you need an external recorder, which for me kills the appeal of a smaller camera.
  10. Cinema projectors are only 2k so it doesn't matter if you are making hollywood films. If gigantic 8k or 16k digital screens become the norm for home viewing that really changes things.
  11. Really awesome! The before and after is quite something.
  12. Yeah its perfectly fine with a speedbooster or the right lenses. With more inexpensive M43 lenses though I've never been satisfied with DOF on M43, at least for run and gun stuff where you don't have control of location and such. I love having full frame as an option but shooting super shallow isn't always the most realistic. Its really hard to stay in focus at f2 on full frame.
  13. I am very interested in it, slightly out of my normal budget though and of course poor AF in video is a bit of a turn off.
  14. Seems like it would be so easy to add internal RAW. Nikon seems really dumb to me at this point. They have no cinema line to protect, why is their full frame offering not at least as good as the Pana S1 in terms of video features?
  15. A bit more noisy and of course vlog in 8 bit on the GH5 is not a good idea so you are stuck with Cine-D or Natural profiles. If you mostly do flash or studio photography it doesn't really matter. But the extra Dynamic range and low light performance on the Fuji make a big difference for the type of photos I like to take. I've been considering the Nikon Z6, ultimately a better photo camera than the XT3 and it has IBIS. The 18-55 on the XT3 is nice for handheld, I end up using it a lot for photos too.
  16. Tom Antos did a rolling shutter comparison, non scientific, and the P6K was a bit worse. In that test above I liked camera C and camera A in the second test.
  17. I have owned both. The XT3 image is definitely better. Superior at 3200 iso and 6400 iso. Dynamic range is better. 4k 60p and HD 120p holds up better to grading and hold more detail I've found. Auto focus is far superior. Dynamic range and noise performance in stills is far superior. IBIS on the GH5 is fantastic though and the H264 codec is much easier to work with than H265. The XT3 can show moire and aliasing at times where the GH5 is pretty much free of both. That isn't too say the XT3 is bad at all in this regard, just that the GH5 is really really good. The GH5 rolling shutter performance is better, again the XT3 is not bad the GH5 is just great. The XT3 sensor is obviously bigger, with a speedbooster you get the full frame look. That can't be achieved on the GH5.
  18. 6k is closer to 8k, would probably look pretty darn good on an 8k TV. I am not sure how good 4k would look on an 8k TV. I have a 4k PC monitor but its not large enough to even tell the difference between HD and 4k. That said the Pocket 4k is certainly not a waste of money, I mean its only 1k in the first place. You can always sell it and get most of your money back.
  19. MFT seems like the logical choice even over Sony E mount. I mean why not.
  20. Yeah I don't see the Pocket 6k as an update like the A73 to the A72. Big bump in price, different type of sensor.
  21. Depends on the test. But if you are testing for pure detail the best way is no speedbooster and shooting something that is fairly flat with a long DOF.
