When the idea was posted of doing a contest on here a few weeks back with the GH2 I looked at eBay to see the prices and was really surprised to see how much they were going for. I feel like I looked about 2 years ago and they were well under $250, but now they were $300 and up. Heck, I bought my GX85 for $250 in January, so that seems like a lot for the GH2!

The 7artisans lenses are actually quite decent for the price. I think you'll be happy with it.

Yeah, when you have people saying the overheating warning came on after leaving the camera on for 20 minutes before even hitting record, they're gonna be in for a rude awakening for sure.

On some videos skin tones look decent, on others though they look bad. It's strange, because it'll happen in the same video.

Agreed. I just need reassurances that M43 is going to still be relevant, otherwise it doesn't make sense to invest more into the system.

It wouldn't let me edit my last post, but I wanted to add that the Olympus situation has made me reevaluate M43 a bit. I think it can survive, but Panasonic can't keep denying things like PDAF when that's what the majority of customers want. While it isn't that important to me, the growth/sustainability of the system is because I'm heavily invested in it. I want to know that it will be around and competitive in 5 years, and a big part of that is meeting the expectations of the customers.

I think the GH6 will likely have similar specs as the S1H, with a few extra ones that take advantage of the M43 system. I really hope I'm wrong but I don't expect either ProRes or PDAF. Maybe they'll surprise us, but they really seem dead set on DfD auto focus and I think it's a big, big mistake. It matters little to me personally, but it's clearly what people want / expect. Not doing it would just be a bad look, perception wise.

Remember how Canon flew people to a tropical island for the EOS R announcement? Imagine the R5 in those conditions! 😂

The argument you made wasn't "the vast majority," it was that no one would use it for anything but a crash cam. That's factually not true. Your comments re: the screen and lenses is a tell that you don't know what you're talking about. No one is using the S1H without rigging it up, unless they absolutely need to. They certainly don't care if they have to adapt lenses, either. You've done nothing but shit post on this forum. Please stop.

Mark is great. One of my favorite YouTubers. I mean, I literally refuted what you said and showed evidence that the S1H is being used on an actual Netflix production. Now share evidence of your production experience, please.

What's your name? Resume? I really do think @Andrew Reid should require people that talk like this to use their real names so we can judge how much credibility we should give what they say. It's way too easy (and common on here) to hide behind "working in the industry" when people disagree with you when you're anonymous

Who knows? Who cares? You said no one was using it for Netflix, outside of it MAYBE being a crash cam. That's not true. I'm guessing his point is that you're speaking as an authority when, truthfully, you probably don't know and have little real experience working on a major production. There seems to be a lot of folks like that on the forums lately.

I assume it's because it seems to happen under specific conditions on the Sony, as opposed to Canon where it can happen by just turning it on. Either way, overheating cameras are unacceptable. People need to stop accepting them. Panasonic's auto focus isn't prefect, but they've never overheated on me during a 6 hour shoot in a 100+ degree venue filled with hundreds of people in the middle of July. That's the kind of dependability I am looking for and is the one thing I'm not willing to overlook personally.

It feels like you've made this post a couple dozen different times and it's dumb every time.

Short of a redesign, how do they even fix this? What a disaster.
