Pretty noticeable, but not bad for super-sampled 4K. In-line with the a7 III.

You don't want any kind of HDD for editing, you want a SSD. A high end Samsung one.

Funny the thumbs down with no comments. Truth must hurt? Some idiot actually tried to get that video removed from YouTube with a phony copyright violation claim. Unfortunately for them, it was cleared by YouTube.... but hey, nice try.
Honestly, I wanted to love the Nikon for video, but in practice it’s AF is weak, in both stills and video. The competition has improved... the X-T3 beats the Z6. The Sony performs better than the Z6 under most conditions... but nothing comes close to the 1DXMK2; it can actually hold focus better than is humanly possible.

This post is a preview of my testing of these two cameras. The Canon is shot internal in 4k, while the Nikon is external to the Ninja V. This might seem strange, but this test started out as a color matching test, and later evolved into an AF test. I have long known that the AF on the 1DXMK2 is the best I have used. But it's not until you put it up head to head against it's competitors that you understand just how amazing it is. I can tell you, the AF on the 1DXMK2 is much better than even the C200. It is better than the other EOS cameras. Of course much has been said about the Nikon Z6's video AF. Most have said it is pretty good. Well let me tell you this... watch the test that I am posting. I can promise you nothing was done that anyone could not have managed setup wise. It is a simple test pitting both cameras against each other side by side. Both set to base ISO, F1.8 and shot at 24p with 1/50th shutter speed. The difference in performance is astounding. From what I have seen the EOS R is inferior to the 1DXMK2 in AF. But that said, what isn't?
So my takeaway from all of this is the following: Dear Canon, I truly hate you... Why must you gimp your cameras? Leaving out features that we want and need, just so we are forced to buy yet another body to do a single task.
Ok, maybe that's a bit much, but I know many most here feel the same way. I'll post more shortly.

@leslie oh thank you!! Jasper is a St Bernard/Great Dane mix, sometimes called Saint Danes, Bernardanes... and other things lol. theyre not a recognized breed, but they SHOULD be.
Jasper is an angel – he really isnt like any dog I've ever met. And I love animals, but hes really exceptional.
He's the size of an adult man (176lbs with a 28" neck), so between his incomparable sweetness and his size, hes very human like in the things that he does... all the time. Like when he just puts his arm on you because youre petting him, and he doesnt want you to stop... its like a person. lol im kind of biased tho i rlly love that big guy
the thing he needs is attention, he just wants love and to be with his family. when i had to evacuate my home because of fire this year (dont worry my town was saved), Jasper was SUCh an angel when i had to drag him around for a week
and of course ppl love him wherever he goes. total strangers kiss him right on the face but he doesnt mind.
so, in conclusion, get yourself a saint dane for sure. hes my best friend. i started saying that when he was like 2 years old, as a joke, but hes 8 now and its not even a joke any more

All you have to do is rent some expensive ass car, and find some big Assed Hoe's, wear a bunch of gold shit, and you are in business. All sounds the same, so the sound and lyrics part doesn't really matter. People are only looking at the Car and the Hoe's anyways. ?

It's probably cos they're sold on specs, and spec arguments attract that kinda crowd.

Same with Red. Most high-end is still shot on Arri no matter how many pixels Red chuck in, but that doesn't stop the red fanboys going postal on threads all over the shop.

I actually owned a Red for a while and it was good, but a bit heavy-duty for the kind of stuff we use in-house cameras for.

I always sold Sonys after finding them hard to use in post, but hopefully the next batch will have nicer colour.

Tools are always part of a working process, but for some people they'll always be the real obsession.

What about putting it in like a Zip Lock bag and having the Gimbal part hang out? You could still push the buttons.
Have you guys seen this comparison? I got my new Apple XS phone 2 days ago. Nothing but rain pretty much now.  The sharpness on it is pretty amazing in Photo HDR mode of my shed. Colors on photo are pretty much spot on. Right out of camera, like the second picture I ever took with it, no editing.

I think that’s because when you use it with your phone, it also acts as a charger of sorts, since your attaching  it to the charging port.
So I guess using it with your phone takes more power from the battery than using it stand alone.

I don't really understand it either. It's probably a combination of many things. The way they market their products, concentrating on high profile bloggers and youtubers instead of "real" photographers. Their products are great and for a long time they were the only manufacturer offering small, full frame, mirrorless bodies. Not counting Leica. They concentrated on the big things like full frame and IBIS, ignoring little things like the viewfinder or weather sealing.
I guess some users thought that this, combined with the very spec heavy marketing, somehow made their product and thus them, superior.

There is probably also some fear. Fear, that Canon and Nikon enter "their" market and that they are no longer unique. As we all know that happened. And quite a few users, which still had their old lenses, did switch back.

When I had my rendezvous with the A7IIII I joined some Sony groups on facebook. To be honest, I was quite shocked at what was said there. There wasn't much talk about pictures or even technical details helping you to get better pictures. It felt like 50% of all content was mocking Canon and Nikon.

of course that's not all Sony shooters. Not all are on the internet, not all are hateful and not all are trolls. Some photographers I know use Sony and non of them is even close to what you find on the internet. So somehow the internet makes angry trolls out of Sony users ?

Yeah 10-bit out option is greyed out in FHD.. which makes recording with my Ninja Star kinda useless..
Hopefully Canon unlocks this with a firmware update. it's a very silly limitation.

I fail to see who this osmo pocket is targeted for. My mom would not shoot with it as why would she spend any money on a camera as she has her smartphone, I as a videographer would not shoot with it as it looks non professional, the quality is no where near any real camera. None of my pro or hobbist friends wants to shoot with it for mainly the same reasons. I guess only youtubers are interested in this(for vlogging purposes).

I said "HYBRID enthusiasts". I was referring to people that care both for video and photos, not the general public.
    A) phones are good enough for the masses (so why spend more for the Osmo Pocket)
    B) Alexa, and similar cameras, have no reason to have excellent performance in high ISO and they aren't meant for prosumer use anyeay
    C) Enthusiasts need something more than a phone for their hobby, even if it is only for the statement of it.

because we are not 90 years old, we know that most people will always prefer their mobile phones for photos and video than another dedicated device, however small it is. The future for amateurs is better cameras in phones, not another device, we are past that. Professionals now, is another subject, of course your mom would be able to shoot something with a better spec-ed camera, but I do not see, even a 100$ wedding video shot by her, and usually wedding videos cost a lot mre. There will always be some demand for professionals of sight and sound. Tools are not getting better only for amateurs, but for pros too. Obviously media creating will be mandatory for next generations, something to learn on primary schools, but some people will be professionals, some hobbyists, and the vast majority will do something else in their life - almost like today, or 50 years ago, when the need for media creation was miniscule, and the population of earth half of what it is now.
Now, if GoPro's and 1/3456234564" inch drones are good enough for you you must be very lucky, because you sell your C100, and still got cash on your hand after buying a cheap drone and a cheap action cam.

Because downsampling decreases noise, thus giving more dr in the shadows (at the expense of resolution of course).
