  1. But will it do 4k with no crop? It is not as much about sensor for Canon as for their out of date image processors.
  2. Well, it was faster then I thought. Waiting for upcoming tests. Yeah, I know that is looks artifical from this video, but it is a start. Who knows where we will be in 5 years from now.
  3. I would still love to see a combined GH5 like IBIS + GoPro HyperSmooth digital IS eliminating the need for gimbal for good. That would be super cool.
  4. That update is seriously mind blowing. I was just thinking about that only feature in Adobe AE - content aware fill, which would make me use it separatly for this effect only, and I hate this program.. but noup, Resolve got me covered baby Will wait a bit for a 16.1 version to make sure it is a stable build.
  5. Yes, that 5.5 almost bezeless FLIP-OUT smartphone-alike screen is GORGEOUS and I dont undestand why other camera manufactures dont use those kind of screens. Three key things missing for me in this camera - IBIS, high frame rates and AFC. But it is still an acheivment and I am glad that Sharp joind MFT game. Also impressed by the sensor lowlight abilities.
  6. What is the best profile for 4k60p excluding Vlog? CineD, CineV or Natural and with what settings would you use?
  7. Have you ditched the Panasonic/Sony controller you were previously working on?
  8. That would be really nice if they did it, but they wont. I guess I will have to ditch m43 anyway as Panasonic refuses to incroporate PDAF on their sensors. And my hope for a magical organic sensor which will even the odds has vanished some time ago. Looking out for Sony a7S3 and whaever Fuji might come up with. A bit sad about that cos I love my GH5 but really need AFC to be reliable and smooth for some of my shots. My dream Panasonic camera would be: - Super 35 or at least multi-aspect ratio Organic Sensor with build in ND, shitload of DR and Global Shutter and at least 20 mpx - Reliable AFC - I dont care about technology but I want it to work - Best physical IBIS in class + best digital one like GoPro HyperSmooth combined giving me a gimbal-like performance - 10-25 1.7 Lens which would be equal to at least 3.0 with 1.8 crop factor of multi-aspect sensor - 4k 120 with AFC and sound - Big flippy screen, maybe 4.5 or 5 inch with FHD (not essential) Thats it. But I highly doubt we will see anything like that anytime soon. Also I feel a bit seduced by Sony FE lens lineup. Like Tamron 28-75 or Sony 24 1.4 and lots of cheap 3rd party option like Samyang etc.
  9. Their pricing will scare away lots of potential buyers. Specially the lenses. But the camera prices should also be competitive with Sony A73R and III, which they are currently not. Another mistake - aiming for the photo crowed, when their strongest side is video. Wired choices.
  10. Dude, Resolve playback should work perfectly without optimized media on such a monster card as 1080ti, there is something very wrong if it doesnt. As I sad my built-in 1050 plays back 4k30 inside Davinici and can actually handle 4k60p on its own but not in Resolve (for some fucked up reason). RAM is sufficient. I am asking BM but they did not respond yet. Right now Final Cut seems to be the only program that does this right. Tested in Premiere. Its plays 4k30 but 4k60 is choppy. I am actually amazed that none of major software video editing companies except Apple solved that thing with smooth playback of freaking video files. Do I need to buy a damn Macbook now? Shit.
  11. It is a Studio. I found a way to turn GPU compute off - you need to set GPU choice to Auto. Didnt help though. No the media is not optimized, well 1070 should handle it fine this way, I've seen tests, that is the reason I bought in the first place. Even 1050 handles 4k30p without optimized media. Dont think its about my RAM or other specs. I think it has something to do with a driver. I will test Premiere 2018 soon. Its defiantly not RAM, as Resolve uses 2.2GB of my RAM when do those tests.
  12. Updated Nvidia and TB drivers, and here is my screenshot from Resolve attached, noup that doesnt help I can disable 1050 and it doesnt effect anything, same as "Auto", only if I choose 1050 manually and disable 1070 completely (or just pull out the plug from it) it works. Didn't find any "use display GPU for compute" box though So Resolve does use my 1070 and does see it perfectly it just doesn't work as it should. Thats the bummer. Now the interesting thing - I did test the GPU usage and my 1070 shows 70-80% usage when I try to play a simple 4k24p clip in resolve. Which it cannot play smoothly anyway. Now when I playback a 4k60p file in windows directly, I get around 40-50% GPU usage from my 1070. And when I try to playback 4k24p file in Resolve with 1050 only it shows 13% GPU usage for 1050 and 70% usage for Intel HD 630 which I though doesnt participate in any kind of decoding in Resolve at all. Very wired. For 4k60p in Resolve 1050 gets around 30% usage, CPU spikes to 90-100% and intel HD 630 is still around 70% and the fps is around 45fps. In windows if I use CUDA player to play video my 1050 can actually handle 4k60p with no problem getting around 35% load and 22% CPU with 60% HD630 load. Wow. I previously was using HD630 trying to play it and it could not, but 1050 does it with only 35 load. So how my 1070 gets 50% load at the same task? Haha)
  13. I just purchased an external 1070 e-GPU (Gigabyte Aorus) to properly work in Resolve on my Notebook. To my surprise it works awfully just unusable. H264 24 fps clip are played back quite fine on my internal 1050 card, but 1070.. shows around 16 fps average! What the hell is going on? I actually have both GPUs enabled, I tried to use 1070 only - same result, but if use 1050 only - it works just fine. My setup: Lenovo Yoga 720 15 inch Laptop Windows 10 Resolve 15.1 Studio 16GB RAM 7700HQ internal 1050 2gb + 1070 8gb Aorus e-GPU fast ssd (around 2.5k read speeds) H264 4k files shoot on GH5 Also my notebook has only 2 lanes thunderbolt port but I doubt that's the problem, should still be much faster than my castrated 2gb 1050. Games run fine btw. I also tried to playback some GH5 4k60fps files just through the file system - they run perfectly smooth on 1070, and on 1050 they are very choppy. So the GPU defiantly works and it seems to be purely Resolve problem. There should be no reason why it shows only 17 fps in Resolve in 4k24p GH5 files. I even tried watching 8k30p on Youtube and it works with no visible lag. I posted it on BM forum but they are very slow at responding so if anybody could help me out here that would be great!
  14. So if Yea, but for video its fine. I shoot most of my b-roll starting from 60p, and they can always add mechanical shutter for photo considering they already have build-in electronic ND. Don't see a problem here. If its an Super 35 sensor size with 36mp, we can expect around 24mp for m43 sensor. Which sounds pretty reasonable.
  15. Ah I see, you are right. The description of their sensor was identical to the one we got half a year ago so I thought its the same old news. Well.. it looks they are sure about their organic sensor being ready in a year which is good news, however the delay is still possible. I hope to see it in GH6 around the same time. I dont need 8k in it, 4k 120p and 6k 60p would be fine.
  16. That's half a year old news. We dont really now when the actual product will be on the market and what that product will look like.
  17. Well technically it is the second one, but the first I am not ashamed to show to everyone This is mostly b-roll footage, it took me 1 day of shooting and 2 days of non stop editing. Shoot on GH5 with 14-140 and 25 1.4. I did most of the shots hand held in 120p and there are a few gimbal shots (like 6 or 7). I know that some of my transitions are pretty lame, but I forgot about in-camera transitions using motion blur and remembered about them only during editing. Now that is the next skill I want to master - more in-camera transitions of all type. Any critics is welcome.
  18. Ok, I figured it out. HEVC is just a h.265 codec. HLG could be used on most of H.264 codec presets except 4k60p and any sort of VBR. Right?
  19. So, it is not possible to record HLG in any other formats than those two?
  20. Can someone explain to me how to turn on HLG 4.2.2 and something over 72 mbps? I can see only option for 72 mbps 4.2.0 10 bit 30 and 24 fps when I choose HEVC codec on GH5.
  21. This is all just completely mind blowing! You are my hero BTM! Waiting for a kickstarter compaign with anticipation. Still wonder how did I miss this topic. Thanks for pointing me to it webrunner5.
  22. OMFG! I want it now! Give it to me!! :)) Joystick is fine, I dont need a wheel personally. Maybe some video demonstration of this magical device hmm? I will pre-order as soon as you make it available! What about latency btw?
  23. You can see it in works at the end of this video: Which leads me to believe that anyone can build a device with similar or much more extended functionality using GH5\s\9 tether option via usb-c. Now it is just a matter of time and initiative for someone to build a remote control like that which could work on any gimbal, not only DJI. Yeah, they have a connector right under the camera plate, but you can work around that by using a very flexible cord that will be attached to the gimbal axis moving down to a control fixed on a handle itself. Or you can even go wireless if its possible. The main thing though is that you can do much more than just follow focusng. Couple of my ideas: - do an iOS\android app for full control like a desktop tether app - do a remote with FF wheel, but also add other buttons, like: 3 buttons for focus transitions, 2-axis joystick to set those transitions and navigate any other menu - I would also upgrade a classic focus wheel like the one from DJI itself, adding some sort of lever on the side that you can hold with two fingers giving you an ability to smoothly pull long distance focus pulls without interruption and a need to re-grab the wheel loosing momentum and overall smoothness Now who has the guts to do it? I know only 1 guy who is capable of such an endeavor here, but he is currently busy working on his ND filter prototype and he is only one man anyway, I feel like you need a team here to start a successful kickstarter campaign. If such people do exist, please contact me and I might try to organize something. I am no inventor, I have only ideas)
