I think this is good advice. Finding a camera that you WANT to shoot because it is enjoyable is going to be a very big factor in how much you want to shoot.
Sometimes I dread shooting with my a6500... The dim, small and not all that sharp (yet highly reflective) screen, the stupid recessed record button, the funky menu system, the difficulty in seeing the AF point selection when using the touchscreen, the inaccuracy of focus peaking (at really shallow DOF apertures)...

I'd say - keep or buy what ergonomically makes best feeling to you and best suite to your needs. Even 500$ difference will be easy compensate if you really like and with enjoy to use your tool. One camera, one or two lens that make you can fully concentrate to and accomplish your goal. Maybe to think of shooting as to some sort of peaceful meditation - only relevant is that you could not be distracted by anything... everything else is in yourself.
Of course, I'd say it more to myself than to you - because I'm always starting with presumption that you or anybody else knows better and more than me...
 

Wow, what a nice clasic balance of tonality - blue with pale face and creamy pastel of compounding colors in the background! And glance down to the side - immediately composition angle reminiscence of La Vergine Annunciata by Antonello da Messina (sadly reproduction is bad)...

I have to say - and sorry, It has no anything especially with this quote - that now I really don't understand why GH5 evolves so much antagonism?
Even one glance at calendar will simply show that at the moment when  BMPCC 4k started distribution GH5 will probably be 2 years old camera...

He was meaning they could already film with it in the lab, but they can't take it outdoors into the open to film with because it is an unannounced camera!!!

Of course now everyone knows about it, they're quite free to take it out into public to have a play around with filming with the BMPCC4K rather than staying confined to the insides of a lab.

Of course it would. But also glory of BM would stay intact or even shinier - it would force Panasonic to make such firmware

More likely GH5s... GH5 will better keep its position simply because of IBIS.

I think that you know very well what I'm talking about... But to say clearly: about your (for me personally annoying) pretension to show yourself as quasi calm-maker, but with continuous using of BTW-poignancy about men or comments that you dislike.

Exactly. But I think that it is out of discussion price shaking moment - and marvelous including of Resolve 15 studio for free. Blackmagic with huge step does democratizing cine art community - others simply have to follow.

My experience in the past with BM products is to not preorder, and wait till they start shipping. You'll be able to find a small retailer on ebay selling them that no-one preordered from and have it before most people.

If you’re at NAB, you should walk by the Z-Cam booth... you’ll probably find a Z-Cam E2 prototype in the trash. 

Since almost all of use are going to have this soon, I believe it's time to rename the site

Why not have options under sharpening (OFF, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10)

It would be so nice... But, from my experience with usage of BM cameras, I always at the end had to add at least little bit of sharpness in software... So, for me it seems also logical question - weather is possible to make even better sharpening algorithm in cameras that use them (obviously because of consumer part of aimed market)?

I really can't see how this camera will disturb the Lumix shooters. Apart from all the good stuff which BM is known for (such as colour science, colour science and maybe colour science too), the lowlight performance is expected to be worse than GH5 and the crop factor is a deal breaker for many shooters. You can't go wide enough with a 1 inch sensor, nor handheld. CFast cards are expensive too and the majority of GH5 users are still bitching for the terrible autofocus performance, oh wait to see this baby  Don't get me wrong, i believe this will be a monster tool for many of us, but it won't be GH5's Nemesis in any case. A better cinema camera? Yeah why not. But don't expect to see this used in weddings & documentaries. 

It's a personal choice. I won't bore you with all the details but the EVA1 is a head choice - pure business - but it would mean using EF stills glass whereas this would let me use my s16 superspeeds (heart choice) and still get tasty 4k - and hopefully 12bit instead of 10.
