  1. Those are some lovely footage!
  2. That's just a normal Sony camera. *ba dum tsh* Joking aside, that sounds like a specific problem with the battery holder inside, or whatever you call it. The part needs replaced, possibly. I had that same problem with my Canon 7D. I did use it for half a year without doing anything about it. Just kept the battery out when I wasn't using it. Then again, that camera needed an entire day to drain. Not 30 minutes.
  3. I'm not too familiar with the technical details, but I've always gotten much more pleasing images out of 0-255. Perhaps the increased bitrate hack would solve this.
  4. To be honest, any camera should do the job. Worry about your lights more, if you really want to spend some cash. That's where your production value will go up a notch.
  5. NOooooooooooooooooooooo. I don't even have a single S lens.
  6. Glad to see Nikon getting on board the 4k train. But guessing from its omission, it's still 8bit. How is it that the pocket is the only one that can do 10bit internal?
  7. Haven't used this, but this looks promising for $360: LILLIPUT 663/O/P2 7" IPS (waveform, vector scope, peaking)
  8. Looks pretty typical of Indian mainstream cinema, lacking nuance in color. Just saturated indiscriminately. If you enjoy bright colors, I suggest anything by the Chinese director, Zhang Yimou.
  9. I'd been struggling with that. Supposedly the H2 has longer battery life, but even that can vary dramatically. Battery is in-built, which kills the deal for me, especially since I need spare when I'm in the field. I decided to go with the DS1 this week. So far consistently good reviews.
  10. Oh, that's good to know. Thanks.
  11. That's worrisome. Do you guys import it to the computer (two separate cards) simultaneously whilst shooting to make sure it's working?
  12. I wonder how the higher bit rate affects the 120p 1080p mode. Any tests?
  13. When I tried ML raw on my 7D, playback on the camera was choppy (difficult to judge without importing it to the computer). How is raw video playback in the 5D Mark II and III camera itself?
  14. Thanks, will give this a shot.
  15. Just another way of saying the argument is flawed. Which doesn't do anything for clarification. But ok, I'll take your word for it, since dismissal seems to be the standard clincher. Still, I am interested to understand why does certain glasses have 3D contrasty images. Any thoughts?
  16. As much as conciseness is appreciated, we would simply like him to share some of his insight (instead of a dismissal), especially those of us who aren't as experienced with lenses. I think that much is fair in a forum, isn't it?
  17. This topic needs to be discussed more in length. Perhaps everyone could list lenses they've used with beautiful contrasts. It'd be great to hear about more of them.
  18. But does it ouput 10bit 4k? I second that. I love my NX1. It's almost the perfect camera, but I can't, for the love of god, get it to focus perfectly inside a studio using modeling lights from a strobe. It always seem off by a hairline.
  19. Living in a place where you can't easily buy gimbal stabilizers can be a pain. I have an opportunity to buy a DS1 this month, but it won't be enough time for the H2, which looks like it's worth the wait. Especially its ability to switch to two holders.
  20. I did always love the image out of the 5DII although never having owned it myself. I might just exchange my 7D for one now.
  21. I noticed something strange with this charger during a recent trip to shoot. The batteries charged a lot faster (about two to three times) when plugged into my laptop than when it was plugged straight into a wall plug.
  22. I wonder if this is how Magic Lantern got started.
  23. I shall consider getting both the prime and the NX 50-200mm. That should have me covered for all video work. Thanks!
  24. Does that mean no need for a computer to calibrate it?
