The only thing I am missing from the NX1 is the focus magnification while recording video. Just that, but it is a quite serious omission.
The ergonomics and menus of this camera is out of this world, in my whole life (and career) I haven't ever used anything so consumer friendly, ever. People haven't used one, do not know what I mean.
Yes, it is starting to show its age, but the 28megapixels BSI sensor, the H265 codec, the unicorn 16-50 2-2.8f workhorse, and the hack/modding happening in this forum, is keeping it near the top almost 2 and a half years after its first release, truly the first prototypical hybrid camera of the 21st century, equal photos and video.

Not one of your better reviews, Andrew... I mean... you didn't even mention if I had too adapt the lens to attach to my ANUS... and is it rectalinear?

The young guy in the video makes a lot of sense - you have to give him credit for being uber-sensible. 
My mantra is: If there's noise in my shot, so be it. I got the shot. And it works.
Light, composition, lens choice, perspective, location, filming style, people.... all these things have way more impact than filming with a better camera. It's easy to kid yourself that you need a better camera, but SO MANY forget the bigger picture of having a camera in the first place. A better camera will have very little influence on making your stuff "cinematic" if you don't apply the key principles around it. 
Right now - I have the FS5 and the A6500. I have the FS5 to cover all my jobs as a great all-rounder - plus due to many requests for HFR, it does that too. The A6500 is used for gimbal work, B-roll and stills shots. For every job i do, I'm covered. New GH5? Ursa Mini Pro? Nice, but not needed. A waste of money. 
Have these Sony cameras had a dramatic impact on my overall content quality? No. It's the artistic choices like lighting, lens choice, grading and style. It's the casting choices (spending more on talent). It's using a location in creative ways. It's editing and rhythm. It's getting everything synchronised. It's publishing work to be proud of. 
The cameras are now at a point where we don't need to be concerned with them, or have to jump through hoops to work properly. We're in a content age where video is the biggest type of media on the planet, and to stand out, you have to wake up from the merry-go-round of camera obsessions and make some really engaging stuff.
I really couldn't think of any big reasons that I'd part with my cameras just now. There would be little benefit to upgrading them, just another hole in the wallet. 
Frankly, I'm done with the gear acquisition illness many of us have. It's incredibly distracting, time-wasting and not creative at all. Of course, it's part of my job to keep up to date with it. But losing time due to thinking about new cameras, not anymore. 
There's a lot of camera gear blogs now. Many of them are sponsored because people have to make a living. They are a good source of news. Opinion pieces are subjective. BUT...there is a gap in these blogs. There's barely a focus on the craft, experimentation and artistry of film making. Maybe because these topics are less hyped, monetised and clickable. 
 

Hi thanks for the input no IR filter I just got this cam about a month ago its just naked FD lens with ND no Speed booster and I did the edit and grade in resolve!

Awesome footage, Juxx.  I love the Monochrome B/W opening -- very film-like.  I love how the Pocket can pop out colors never thought possible.  With all the talk of GH5, the BM camera rocks in my opinion.  Excellent grading.

As im considering getting rid of my NX Gear Ive put it in boxes and am trying to act like I don't have it for a week or two.... we are separated not divorced...
Finally got a ND Filter for my FD len only things I can get on my Pocket atm ATM
Shot this stuff RAW trying to figure out what is the best exposure on the histy
I suppose on  RAW you want a flat valley not peaks to the left or right?
Its all hand held with some serious (bad) stabilization all done in Resolve  
Im learning that just just because I have all that dynamic range perhaps I shouldn't keep the Whitest  whites and the blackest black alot of grades have milky blacks....

That looks really cool. The Pocket is such a wicked camera and those FD lenses really sing on it. Which lenses did you use? Did you use any IR filtration? And finally, did you grade this in resolve?

haha! I am sure they do!
Nuh..they are not that sensitive, cameras do not broke that easily, you see in various forums that only a few complain about broken NXes, and usually the top dial somehow do not work properly. They seem very well implemented, plus there are quite a lot new ones from Korea.
From various sources around the net (and your Fabebook as well) it seems like there are a lot more NX users than I though they were, just not enough obviously.
As it seems, my NX1/NX500/NX3000+all the lenses I need (except the 50-150 I do not have) will keep me good company for a few more years.
The things I mentioned above are the only concerns, but a breakthrough in any of these could keep the cameras relative for at least a couple more years (until 2020), do not even want to know what will happen if we can extract raw, somehow, out of these, people are buying 5DmarkII for their Magic Lantern capabilities!
We will see, it is an interesting journey nevertheless, and thanks for all your effort, much obliged!

Hi, this is my short demo shot with Ursa mini 4.6K with canon 16-35 f2.8 L II lens. Graded in resolve 12.5, edited in premiere cc.
 

Seems like they are trying to really change the game like maybe you keep the same body for years and they sell you a 6k sensor to stick in it in 2 years....

What else could it be? Must be BMPCC 2.0? or a capture card for Ipads... 

I ended up getting these two.... It was pretty cheap and with a rod for $14 I can rig my NX1 with a batterygrip and my BMPCC with the same kit..... makes it modular and universal even for future cams...

Cinema5D is sending some bad juju. 

Many example videos using EOSHD Pro Color settings are either taken exclusively at night or mucked up with Luts that completely alter the color, so you cannot see what the Pro Color settings do.
So here is a video shot using the Sony A7s ii in daylight with no Lut applied in post. The main subjects are flowers - nature's color palette (although there is also a cat). There are plenty of blues, greens, yellows, whites, reds, etc (though no human skin).

I'm thinking a lot of y'all need to take a break and go into the screening room here on EOSHD.  Look at stuff that actually exists as a creative endeavor, for better or worse.  Get motivated to create rather than pixel peep.  Even if you have the latest and greatest camera, all that resolution is for naught if you're horrible at framing a composition and editing.
 
And try not to get all sad and mopey if someone doesn't like a piece of kit that you like/covet.  It happens, so what?  Does your self-worth run tandem to the gear you own?  Really?  Someone owns a BM cam and you want a Pan4K.  Fine.  I'm not sure we need to hear convoluted rationalizations about your future purchase here online.  Do we?
 
(I'm attempting to motivate myself with this plea as well...too much dry corporate editing and procrastination forum reading.  Making a dry training video turns me grumpy.  Not enough creativity going on in my life this week.)

Lets talk about art.
 
The example posted by Miller is too soft. Making the entire video soft is not beautifull, its a flaw. Whats the point of using expensive lenses to deliver a soft video?? You can soften a skin texture, but making the entire scene soft is wrong. The video will look like a low resolution out of focus video. With high end codecs, like raw, you can make the skin look soft and sharpen the eyes, for example. Eyes need to look sharp, otherwise the person will look lifeless and the video will look like a distant dream. He is also throwing away good dynamic range. He is blowing out the face of the main subject. She is like a pin up girl, but he graded her like a zombie shot on a low dynamic range camera. Her skin tone is green. One thing is to add a graded color to the scene, to create a mood, the other is to add a color cast that makes the skin tone look horrible.
 

 
I said it once and I will say it again. Applying pre-set looks like mojo, film convert tools, LUTs etc are not the way to do it. Grading is REALLY easy. You dont need those tricks.
 
And here is my simple grading for commercial use.
 
What did I do?
 
- Made her skin look soft
- Gave her a pin-up skin tone
- Increased the sharpness and contrast of her eyes, to make them stand out
- Changed her eye color, because I like blue
- Added a lot of saturation in her lips, to create a sexy look
- Increased the sharpness and the saturation of the yellow, to make her hair stand out
- Added some split toning (blue and purple) while mantaining her skin tone
 
Now I can see me gaining the contract for the commercial, while James grading would be only usable for an underground alien movie.

he took it even further on this next video he put it next to an ARRI  
 
 

Wow seems like you maybe in the right place at the right time to break into the big time. Hell go for it. You will regret it if you don't. Not many get That chance. It is more luck than skill to make it, we all know that.

I was like him as well like I need to keep what I got. But now Im not sure... an acquaintance/friend that's a pro director here in the LA area has really started taking interest in me a bit...
He has been giving me books and a great one was Nestor Almendros Man with a Camera a great book on the philosophy of a DP.(get it if you can its pretty rare) 
He shoots with a FS7 -FS5 and has been strongly "Suggesting" I get a A7s2 Im not sure but I think he would like to invite me on set to maybe shoot some behind the scenes stuff for him
I dont think he cares personally but I get the impression his circle will think Im a buffoon showing up with my Kitted out NX-1 and 2 S Lenses and in turn look at him funny for inviting me.... or maybe he just would prefer to work with all sony
It seems silly but this town is really that petty some times...
out of curiosity I got a quote for all my NX gear from a big store in NY and they said minimum they would give me $3200 if in decent condition more if better... said if I would trade in they would sell me a used A7S2 for $2200 (said they will cut me a better deal if I trade instead of cash)
Its just if I do it ill be knocked back to the stone age lens wise and have to learn a new camera (it seems it the opposite of the NX-1 where you underexpose for best image you overexpose a bit on the sony) but at least Ill still have my My 5 FD lenses that will probably sing on the A7s2...  
But right Now on I have I have 12mm- 150mm in lenses all 2.8 or faster.
And then @webrunner5 had a great point THERE IS Some URSA MINI's Going for around $2400 on FeeBay. Geez... they may drop a 100 or so low when the PRO drops.
I just need to decide if I want to be a lone wolf or possibly break into that "scene" its just I have an INTP type personality Im not to fond of the the Machiavellian bullshit required to flourish there.
Ill probably just think about it till all the options pass lol
