I don't doubt it may happen as the best bang for the buck nowadays but I still want that 8K 60p power as my most perfect dream of hybrid camera today, though... LOL ;- )

Here you have a fair comparison and where one and the other one can sing, respectively:

In any case, it is natural the shooter had often used a very high set of ISO values which will naturally increase noise artifacts more visible in the dark areas such as those blacks and blues.
Not apples to oranges. That's the only way to compare tools.

On 00:14 I don't notice anything but on the rest, yes, you're right although that looks like to me the introduction of compression artifacts, not necessarily coming from the native files : ) You're watching processed pictures, not the original acquisition. Anything adultered is nothing about the ones SOOC.
You can only have an accurate idea when you face that stuff the camera directly produced, shot by the device without any further processing or you can fairly infer that's noise introduced later on.

Another astonishing film editor I can never forget the fortune I had of a personal contact with and I could make part of my own learning from, is La double vie de Véronique and Trois couleurs: Bleu & Rouge's editor, the French Jacques Witta...
Where editing is not a matter of space but much of time... Bazin and Deleuze are there ; )

you should shoot more mono no0ne. Thats rather good 🙂
I'm on my third russian lens. This one is interesting in the fact, there's no play anywhere, its quite smooth to turn and it came with an ef adapter that has the tiniest amount of play i have experienced in any adapter so far. putting on the 60d it seems to focus on infinity going to try it on the p4k tomorrow. The orchard near me is out in flowers so i want to capture it with the p4k.
Downside is the last few days have been 60 km an hour winds. Which isn't really conducive to me videoing anything outside.

I can not believe that Ebay "thinks" my ancient Canon 24 1.4 L FD is worth more than my Canon 17mm tilt shift?
This photo with the TS (with a lowly 12mp "non photo" camera) got a highly commended at the Mono awards 2020 (Australian B&W photo competition that attracts thousands of entries) and highly commended means it got past the second short list but not the final thirty.
IF live music ever starts up again, I look forward to getting back to using the TS for both video and photos of full bands from next to the stage.

Would be a good investment for collector lenses or equipment. I'm sure you could make something yourself for like $10.

Well at least it's got people talking. What are we on the 14th page of a product announced 5 days ago?
A7IV thread I started early September barely got to page 3?! Snooze.
Let's face it, this isn’t a very exciting time for the industry, still recovering from the on-going pandemic. Talking tech is part of doing the research, this isn’t exactly an affordable expense either..
That said, Canon is definitely the most polarising camera company when it comes to video.  And rightfully so with all the shenanigans we’ve lived through the years (blocking ML, being slow to adapt to mirrorless and of course the most recent overheat-gate).
But their strategy seems to be shaken up by RF mount, as they are eager to get people on-board including EF body Canon customers. The C70 with the Raw update will basically have the same exact IQ than the $11K C300 mk3.
And this 5RC? cmon it packs a lot of heat (pun intended) for a price point much lower than expected: 8K60, 5.9K, 4K DCI, 2.9K. RAW Light options, XF-AVC, full cine OS with WFM, false color etc. No overheating, no recording time limits. 45MP still monster. It’s actually the highest resolution cine line product yet priced at entry-level. Crazy.
Perfect though, no. No IBIS & micro-HDMI. No ND’s (then again no hybrid does).
Not too many gotchas imo. YMMV.

Emanuel is right. Are you comparing the digital digitalization in-camera of the new R5C with Resolve from footage of a different camera? This will lead to different results all around.

No problem, I don't find it rude, I just think you're trying to express your point the best you can through a written form, sometimes we risk to seem rude and we don't intend to, only to make a point or even putting ours to debate : )
I did NOT write one replaces another, c'mon... Much different what I wrote.

BTW, I am using IS glass since its introduction. I recall a test done with my 24-105 f/4 coupled to my 5DII 13 years ago even before this community was created by our webmaster. People then found pretty amazing how could an interview be shot handheld using an unexpected focal length going tele with that zoom lens. Still wondering if I hadn't used a tripod, monopod, anything extra to stabilize it, go figure!

I obviously understand the contribution of the conclusions of your test, moreover the whole advantages you've fairly shown with. No doubt on it at all : ) Pretty clear and consensual.
That's not my point. My point is that we cannot compare the digital stabilization of this camera model in particular with anything other from a different capture device, no matter what else. It's apples to oranges :- )

That car test (done with digital stabilization on a R5C vs IBIS R5) is very elucidative to everyone. Just not to people who don't watch it or have any bias or beef against, so better to not pay attention to it. I instead appreciate to rather praise and evolve my scope as much as I can, so I am always open to listen some new insight, no worries about.
If you say, ah but let's change the variables such as shutter speed, focal length, etc. and take a new look? Now we're talking... ; ) So, I find it not exactly hopeful but just interesting any test under distinct premises, camera included.

I'm upgrading my A7III to A7IV, bit disappointed with the lack of FF 60FPS but if you do video work the 10-bit and option for 4K slow mo at least makes it a backup to the A7SIII.
I think 6K/8K is going to be here soon so I don't know if in 5 years any camera is going to be relevant!

A7IV? I wish. I have one on order LOL, but I'm in the US and we won't see them for another month. Right now its the a7III/a7sIII combo for me. All of your S5 points are great and honestly features I would like to see on Sony, though I get monitoring and false color with the Ninja which I don't mind rigging.
The latest Sony AF has been a game changer for me, I need glasses for anything within a few feet and its just made me so much faster, I almost never focus manually because I can't see further away with my glasses on. So I'm looking forward to the a7IV to better compliment the a7sIII - Sony's real time tracking never ceases to impress, its really, really good. The other upgrades are welcome too, and I really don't mind the 60p crop, even if I didn't have the a7sIII.
    Cheers

No worries, kye, you're not the only one : ) reason why these forums serve I guess, people come here to share and put the discussion in progress ; ) I also inferred the same and looked like some interesting add-on to obviously benefit "all camera types" as you wrote. Although, if there is who already is playing with the idea even if only on photo side as Nikon, I think we can estimate it will happen to electronics as well, just a matter of time.
The tweet is coming from this Sony's press release from last Thursday:

This is Pretty Neat. Unfortunately, since the Sony IMX377 and other 1/2.3" sensors, most smartphone sensors have abandoned 12-bit, for photo or video (Staggered HDR sensors do 12-bit HDR for photos instead). So, this is limited to 10-bit video for now. But, the video quality looks pretty stellar. Unprocessed and I am guessing the highlight and shadow recovery maybe pretty decent. It apparently does 10-bit 4-2-2 (most smartphones that do 10-bit video, have 4-2-0).
(The new Snapdragon and MediaTek SoCs talk about 18-bit imaging, which I am guessing may be some crazy HDR, upressing bit-depth, though that may solely be limited to photos).
This RAW video does look pretty neat, and doesn't look over sharpened or over processed like most smartphone footage.
