  1. @Wild Ranger Love what you do with color on the GH5! Really dig the videos you have been posting on here. Can you post the video above?
  2. Puh, couldnt watch this. Nasty, these two jerks. The girl in the shorts and super red shirt though from the last clip, she looks like an actress from the expressionist films. You just gotta turn down the volume and everything is much better. Maybe turn the color down too. She has some talent for expressionistic facial expressions for sure. Hidden gem you found there
  3. Thanks Glenn! The GH4 has a HD all intra codec with 200mbit and it costs less than 1000usd now, or the Fz2000 you had, 200mbit, also in the sub 1000 dollar category. Right, like Shell64 wrote, the 72mbit all-i is to stay away from, the 50mbit interframe codec should be pretty nice.

    G7 in 2019

G85 and GX85 don´t have unlimited anything. 30min is the limit. Don´t know about the GX9. Would seem the same. HD on the G7 is much nicer. Now that is a bummer! Anyhow, G7 is a great cam if you like nice HD and 4k better than GH4. If you need IBIS and HD is not so important get the G85. Exactely! Have been wondering about that for a long time! Think his film was called Andromeda or something like that, all shot on several G7s in 4k.
  5. On G7 I use Natural with contrast at 0, color -2, sharpness and noise reduction at -5. So, not messing with the 709 curve, nice potential for grading. On G6 I shot everything at -2 and found my own grading workflow to get nice poppy colors. Just ISO 1600 was too much for the slim HD codec. 100mbit 4k codec on the G7 is very good though, so much better thant G6. Anyhow, some G6 example after heavier grading with -2 on everything on natural profile.

    G7 in 2019

G7 has the best HD quality of the Lumix G series, even better than legendary GH2 imho. G85 and GX85 got worse in that regard. So for the HD alone I love my G7, pretty amazing codec too. But, my personal to go camera is the GX85, nice n pretty and beautiful to play around with. I use it a lot of times to get ideas and to design shots. The G85 would not interest me because of the worse HD quality.
  7. What a charismatic appearance he was and is on the screens of this world! Awesome actor! Best to you in paradise, Rutger!
  8. Wow, 3ccd 10bit raw, 720p, global shutter, with a leica- pana zoom lens, lens stabilization and legendary ergonomics. Keep on posting, my friend!!!! Maybe you can resurrect the hardware hack and @BTM_Pix can join the process. We better get our DVX100 cams cheap now.:)
  9. Panoly! Really like the Pana Lumix Color Science a lot. G6 graded is awesome, wish it had a 50mbit or 100mbit codec. From GX85 on and GH5 on footage is super easy to grade with beautiful results! Canon R in HD and CLOG has a nice image ooc with 709 conversion, but hardly any wiggle room for stronger grading. GH5 in 8bit HD 100mbit is already super strong for grading when recorded in 709. Have not graded 709 material from Canon R though.
  10. Hallo, congratulations to your new and super cool camera! Here are my questions for you. Oh, man!:) Does the camera provide 10bit HD with 100Mbit data rate after the update? Does VLOG work in 10bit HD? cheers
  11. Thanks, guys! Will keep you posted. Been on vacation. Yeah, would be cool, F3 form factor with LCD side panel. 4000 EUR price tag, for 2K only, FS7 codec and classic F3 color science
  12. I Exactely:/ Hopefully will figure out the trick soon. Like I said, no raw out options in the menu unlike shown in the pdfs files you linked to. For now, thanks for trying to put some light into the issue and sharing your great finds!
  13. You wouldnt guess for how little I got that beautiful body of a FS700R camera! @BTM_Pix thank you for posting! Still, I don't have that RAW nor 2k nor 4K out option, which is seen at the beginning of the video. So question would be if a software update would be needed, since the infamous hardware upgrade should not be needed due to the R version of my camera. Maybe software update from 3.0 to 3.1? Would be cool if any FS700 lovers could chim in and put some light into this. Thinking of @IronFilm, with his love for the beautiful F3. That is a pretty looking camera! But back to topic, I have the R version, so I should every reason to look forward to some fat n juicy 10 or 12 bit files! Hmm, just saw in the Odyssey video, one can record proxies internally while being in raw beast mode! Right now very happy about my purchase, will be even happier to get the raw option figured out, will be even more happy to shoot some kewl video for it! So much happiness. Not just yet!
  14. Thanks, Andrew, for chimming in! I am going to rent a Shogun Flame. There are just no 2K or 4K raw output options in the freaggin menu though:( I was fortunate enough to buy the R model in nice condition for a price I could not resist.
  15. No andromeda hack unfortunately. Bought a FS700R instead now! Trying to figure out the Raw out options, which are not to be found in the menu just yet. But that should calm my GAS for a DVX100 Andromeda, which might never again to be found on the webs againg:)
  16. Hallo friends, I pulled the trigger and bought a FS700R. Now, where is the freaggin option for RAW output? All it's showing me are the obvious 8bit HD choices. Afaik the R model is does not need the hardware upgrade from Sony but should be ready to give me some beautiful 12 bit 2K and 4K raw output. So, friends, please let me know how to proceed. Do I need the firmware software updates to version 3.1 or 3.2? Help is reaaaaaaaaally greatly appreciated. Help me out on this, please. cheers
  17. would love to see some dvx100 andromedas for 200USD. anyone wanna sell me theirs now? @Andrew Reid Hey Andrew, no actors at all or just no professionals, buddies would be okay? cinematic andromeda footage, inspiration time:
  18. You rascal, you almost got me, except that I, uhmm, I, well, I didn't:(
  19. "You can now get an Arri Alexa for £4900" Not anymore. Sold. Edit: Andrew, Dave, what´s up with that!:) Exited to see you using it again. Would love to see some classics revised, esp. the Mjpeg hacked GH1!
  20. Btw, blackmagic ursa mini pro 4.6 prices running low on the bay now. like 3500 usd low, the pro version! What is going on there? Everyone dropping their cams for the awesome canon c200 or c300 II. I wouldnt think so, to start my complain or disregard towards the c300ii. How so? I have not had that great experience with grading either the 10bit 4k dci nor the 2k 12bit. It sometimes feels like grading dslr footage, with codec falling apart surprisingly quick. I have had better results with grading 8bit gh5 100mbit codec. What you guys say about the c300ii codec flavours? Dynamic range captured is nice, robustness of codec rather not.

    Lenses

old c-mounts and ibis are indeed a thing of beauty! I shot a video today with a friend, all GX85, awesome Fujinon 12.5mm with a bit of fungus. That lens is the only reason i still have that camera. So this is from today, with grade and edit right after it. I should do that every week. 1hour shootin, no planning ahead. fun thing: shot in vivid, full contrast and sharpness +2, color at +4, though at the lit parts at -5. Finally my first "real" video with the GX85, after almost two years owning it!

@Matt Kieley, lookin great, as always. So what you think about the GH4 compared to your BMCC? What profile, settings did you shoot the video? I have been enjoying the Fujinon 12.5mm 1.7 for photography and doing video in 1:1 format. This lens is the only reason I have not sold my GX85 yet. Such a pretty outfit. Love to crop the photos in the raw developer in the classic aspect ratios like 1: 1.85, 1:2.0. Raw really makes that lens sing beautifully. Shot the image below last summer but edited it only two days ago. I guess I gonna keep this combo for another summer:)
  23. Please full VLOG curve and gamut with possibility for NR dialed off and ALL Intra for HD and 4K!
  24. Was close to buying one, with the pocket speedbooster, halfcage and 2x128 GB SDs. I sold for little over 500bucks. Crazy, I didnt bid in the end! But still looking for a BMCC mft package or good deals on FS700s. Fancying a F3 package with rigging and loads of extras for super low money!
  25. Great stuff. Still, to put into perspective, a FS700 with update for 12bit output can be bought for less than 2000 usd these days. I am close to getting one. Loving the 10bit prores image it gives with the shogun. Massive indy cinema image!
