How I wish we could get a EM1mkGH5, Olympus' 5-axis kills it. Can't wait for SOOC video samples.
    Want.

I was one of the very first who bought the original a99; still my most regretted camera choice ever and I've owned many.  Video quiality was "VHS-like" and the lens was stuck in video mode in AF @ F/3.5 or whatever the next fastest stop the lens would offer.  I got ran out of town on DPreview for mentioning this; I was happy Chris came in later on and provided actual samples that backed up my claims.  Anyway I'll guarantee you stick an F/1.4 lens on this it'll only AF @ F/3.5 in video mode.  For fun I put tape on the excellent Zeiss F/2 / 24 holding it wide open and the AF still worked just fine.   I would avoid this like the plague - still same crappy menus and colors, and the worst mount EVER.

    Exactly but you forgot some
A7 series has the FF and noise control
    GH5 the recording specs..
    canon the ergonomics..
We need Olympus stab, GH5 video specs (4k60fps and 10b422), Canon colours and DPAF and ergonomics, with an A7R2 sensor and with canon lenses. Now imagine that camera ? Fully stabilized with amazing AF, amazing sensor for stills, great DoF, great everything actually.
now one needs two lens system and two cameras to get 95% of this.

The Chris reacted to Viet Bach Bui in Sony seem to have botched their menu re-design
You missed the page titles under the "camera" tab. You got 12 pages because a) Sony put most of the items on the first menu level instead of a multi-level menu and b) there is no scrolling required.
I have used Nikon for a while before and their menu isn't really better. And Olympus' menu also has 11 pages which are organized as vertical tabs (vs Sony horizontal tabs where you can use the left-right button to quickly move between pages).
As I said before, the current grouping in Sony menu is not very intuitive and if this is fixed then there is nothing much to complain anymore.

The Em1mkII has 121 cross type PADF points and a touch screen, should be able to pull focus in a manner similar to Canon's dual pixel - something Panasonic's DFD cannot achieve. Olympus claims a much faster readout for less rolling shutter.
For handheld work I'd much prefer IBIS and PADF over a gimbal. The tracking on the a6300 absolutely blows anything DFD out of the water, its just a PITA to move the focus point if your subject isn't a person. YMMV.
10-bit external out of the GH4 wasn't a dramatic improvement for basic corrections, we'll see what the new cam brings. I'm not buying 1+ stop improvement claims, since no m43 camera has come close to that and we've already seen what the sensors are capable of in current cameras.
Its nice to have options though.

    Damn!
Count me as someone that never thought a A99II would ever become a reality. FF4k, 12fps, and Sony's best sensor. 1dxII - who?
The SAR guy - as usual - had no clue this was coming.
$3199 makes me want to dump all my E-mount stuff, the A99 had the best egos of any camera I've ever used.
    Damn!

There is storyboard specific software, but as mentioned pages or word works fine. You could create a custom template (or just modify an existing one) with photo and text boxes, so when you drag images they resize to fit the box automatically.
Edit - a quick google search shows others have already done the work, find your favorite and bust a move.

Sony please take note of the touchscreen on this camera - high resolution, touch to move focus point - even when shooting through the EVF (so you don't have to push a button and then fiddle with a dial), touch to magnify and check focus (so you don't have to push a button and fiddle with a dial), touch to move around the magnified frame (so you don't have to push a button and fiddle with a dial), touch to pull focus while shooting video with a AF lens (so you don't have to push a button and hope the focus box stays on your subject - though it does that remarkably well) and so on. Please pull your heads out of your collective asses, steal this concept, and add it to all future E-mount cameras. The a7rII and a6300 are my last E-mount cameras without a fully functioning touchscreen.
Video on the M5 obviously aimed at what the promo videos talk about - people looking to upgrade from a phone - so it no longer interests me. But that damn touchscreen, love it. Hopefully Canon putting touchscreens on its flagship cameras will finally prompt Sony to add them as well. If you want people to use a shitty focus by wire system to shoot video with E-mount lenses, moving the focus point needs to be easier. Its my favorite feature of the a5100, but I can't get it on a higher end body, grrrrr....
Edit: And its not just Sony. Panasonic, please stop trying to sell that crappy DFD system as a competent AF in 2016, the capabilities of a decent PADF array make your offerings look laughably bad in comparison. The GH5 needs to move into the PADF realm if you want to try and convince stills heavy hybrid shooters to buy a G/GX/GH camera over the competition.

Personally I prefer flip locks on my video tripod and monopod, I make lots of height adjustments and fiddling with three twist locks slows me down, YMMV. Been using the Manfrotto video monopod with the cartridge on the feet for years and it has no issues at all. I also have the Benro carbon tripod with the s8 head, locks are perfect after over a year of regular use. My photo only tripod has twist locks, which is fine as I'm not adjusting it as much.

Check the results from the XC10, looks pretty good to me. And it's silent, unlike the constant hum you get from a suspended sensor.

I have to admit, even though I've read Canon will never make a camera better than the NX1, this one has me intrigued. DPAF and a touchscreen combined with 5-axis is everything I wish was on my a6300, despite the lack of 4k. Very tempted to take this one for a test drive with the EF adapter and the 17-55/2.8 IS.

There will never, ever be a camera as capable as the NX1. I know because you come to every thread about a new camera and remind us.

$3500, brutal. That's quite an arsenal of Sony glass or a speed booster and a slew of (insert your favorite lens here) lenses. I liked the 28-135, but there were so many two zoom options that were better optically and could be had for less - for example the Nikon Bourne zooms and a speedbooster - that it just didn't make sense for me. Its great that Sony is producing top quality lenses, but their pricing is really out of whack.

Why? It only does 1080p over HDMI.
The A7rII looks like it was in FF mode, S35 is much cleaner, and would still have less of a crop than the other two.

Having owned many gimbals by now, I would say that the Z1 Crane is the gimbal that everyone has been waiting for.  It's probably as user friendly it's going to get.  So if he did get a broken one (which is very unlucky because it does come in a nice padded carrying case that should survive pretty rough shipping) I would say it would be definitely be worth the trouble of replacing it.  Bad luck happens, but considering the other options out there and how much they cost, I would not go with anything else.

The Chris got a reaction from Lintelfilm in Monitoring Headphones Recommendations Please
My over ear phones are the Panasonic RP-HTF600, bought them as a cheap knock around set of phones. I like them so much I've sold my 7506's. They're lighter, have a straight cord and sound great. But I mostly use phones while shooting, I get ear fatigue while editing with headphones, so I prefer studio monitors when working on a computer.
For monitoring with earbuds I use the MEE audio M6 Pro. I personally like shooting with earbuds, keeps my kit more compact.
    As always, YMMV.

The Chris reacted to JurijTurnsek in Sigma re-housed their stills lenses into cine bodies
There is not a lot of initiative for developing dedicated FF short-flange distance lenses (with AF), since they only make sense on FF E-mount bodies. APS-C short-flange lens designs can be used on a few more mounts and can make sense even on m43. If Canikon ever joins the FF short-flange party, then Sigma will follow.

The Chris got a reaction from Marco Tecno in GH5 10-bit 4:2:2 internal?
I picked top end m43/aps-c (Sony, Nikon) and just for shits I threw in the RX100. Guess which one the m43 is closest to? Unless your vision sucks too, it's the 1" sensor, not aps-c. If you use the d810 or the a7r/II the difference is wider. Picking an old Canon is a waste of time. But my point is easily made, the difference is easy to see, not "almost indistinguishable" as the poster spewing bullshit hyperbole said.
But to use your example, which camera is better at high ISO? Hint, it's not the GH4. So your point is bunk as well.

You're blind if m43/aps-c are almost equal. It's improving over previous generations, but so are larger sensors. There will always be a DR gap. Same with FF vs aps-c.
