Fyi: It's $9k for the Terra 6k Pro Pack. I think a lot of the folks that have nothing but praise also really are not potential customers. People seriously considering this camera will be discriminating. And QC is very important as it is directly tied to reliability.

Anyone who isn't sceptical of any new camera is, well I dont want to be insulting here, but lets just say it's perfectly reasonable to be sceptical.  The flaw of buttons being rotated and even upside down is an embarrassing mistake that makes your product look bad even if it is just a mock up. Red or blackmagic, canon or anyone would get called out on that kind of thing.  Would the new iphone ever have writing upside down? I don't think so.  Im glad it was pointed out, because it does matter if you are considering spending $6000 on one.

Well I guess some people are just easier to please than others. As for judging, as I have not had any hands on time, I can only judge by what I see, and I see crooked buttons. If so easy to fix, why is it not fixed? Just makes me wonder what else is not fixed.

To be honest, if there was a difference in color depth or anything else it was marginal at best. After performing  several test shoots side by side to see if there as any gain to be had by recording to the external recorder, I ended up returning it and now just shoot internal. 
To me the slight gain in quality was not a good trade-off for the much larger file sizes. But after reviewing my post, yes there was a difference, but just not a big enough difference to warrant the extra bulk and larger file sizes. Also, I did not find that I could push the colors further in post by using the external recorder. This leads me to believe that the bit depth is still 8 bit. The difference is sharpness is down to the codec.

Got in the brand new Video Devices PIX-E7 yesterday. Quick observations, build quality is first rate. Tap to zoom is very handy and works well. When plugged into the A7Rii it defaulted to 422HQ 10bit. The resulting recordings looked very good and the unit was not loud when operating. The PIX-E7 does get warm, but not hot. The display is very nice, pulling focus was quite easy and noise was easy to detect when present. Colors looked good. The monitor allows you to add non-baked in LUTS which is very handy. Peaking and zebras are also nice to have.

I would like to see some affordable (read $1k-2k) anamorphic Canon EF mount lenses. 

Much Canon bashing here. Why? Go buy something else if you hate Canon. I for one will be picking up a 1DX Mk II. If it's horrible, I will sell it. But most likely it's going to be with me for a few years. Sony's are obsolete  in six months... Well resale value is anyway. That's why I get my monies worth out of them, and then sell and get the next model. Relax. 
PS: I also bet AR will be getting a 1DX MkII within the year;-)

I'd love to see a Blackmagic take on the DJI Osmo... And have it ship at the time of announcement.

Cry all you want... canon have nailed the vlogger market with this one .... great AF and beautiful footage with minimal/no need to go to post.

You see, I'll agree it looks interesting, but making the move from interesting to taking out my checkbook are to different things. I'll pass, unless prices become such that it's worth the gamble to me. I suspect this is the sentiment of most people here.

That price is for the body only, not a shooting package. 

They need to stop going after Red and Arri and focus on bringing out something affordable enough so that people will pick one up out of curiosity. That way they can build a reputation. Especially if the new cameras are bang for the buck stars.

FYI I will be posting some comparos of settings this weekend. And BTW: just bit the bullet and pulled the trigger on a Canon 1DX Mkii. I'll let yhall know how that works out.

I too love the look of Canon and Blackmagic cameras. I have owned both and currently own the A7Rii. It's a great camera, but I've yet to find a picture profile that really excites me. I plan to do some extensive fooling around this weekend to see if I can happen across anything that has that "spark" to it. In any case, I caved and purchased the Canon 1DX Mkii so I will have something to fall back on that delivers that magic straight out of the camera. I did consider the Blackmagic Ursa mini 4.6k, but from my past experience I'm certain that camera will be filled with bugs and quirks and will be awful in low light. So I'll skip the Mini for now. Besides, knowing Blackmagic it will be another year before the Mini 4.6 is released.
