That 14mm 1.8 is the most interesting to me! Truly an unseen focal length with that aperture! Going to produce some really unique looks on a full frame image!

Awesome -I've been thinking about trying to rationalise my cameras to better match what/how I'm shooting now and have been wanting to get a good hybrid for both stills and video so I can just take the one camera.   I just don't gel with a sony, and want a full frame sensor for stills -so the SL looks mighty tempting especially being able to use m glass on it.  I see it has 1.33:1; 1.66:1; 1.78:1; 1.85:1; 2.35:1; 2.4:1 aspect ratio guides - hallelujah.
I see some have commented that the EVF is in the same class as the F55 or RED Bomb EVF -so that makes the price seem slightly better when you look at what they go for

You guys are surprised about the xc15? Why? You already knew this.
Its a xx5 update. Usually that means an SDI port and nothing else. And now its all of a sudden a surprise. Find it strange.
As I see it the audio port was all it should have gotten. Waveform is a huge bonus.
I don't know anymore. People get happy, angry and sad over weird features these days. Same when a new camera (forgot which) had moved the mic jack away from the screen. People where upset even though it's a massive deal. It makes rotating screens actually rotatable. And instead they go apeshit over some bogus feature.
I mean I get it. I got as much G.A.S as the next guy. But Im not emotional and I don't get all psychotic demanding this and that for free, calling people idiots or lay awake at night because of a frame rate.
This whole looking at gear and hanging out on forums is imo supposed to be fun and relaxing. Don't get heart attacks over it. Bcause at the end of the day its just meaningless and stupid cameras.
And professionally none of us "need" anything that isn't already out there to do our job.

Interesting. So the $30k market has another new competitor that operates the same as all of them.
It's body is big and long by the look of it, so will be interesting to see how it sits on the shoulder. Reminds of the original URSA.
Anamorphic de-squeeze, assumedly for 1.3x anamorphic lenses, as the sensor doesn't appear to be 16:9
And a 'modular design' - you know like every other camera manufacturer out there nowadays.
DPAF is nice for some productions, but is it enough to keep it competing?
    At around $30k:
-RED has 6k raw in a small body, at up to 75fps in 6k, 120fps in 4k
-Panasonic has dual ISO in a small, light body (at half the price too!), plus their very impressive Varicam colour science
-Sony F55 has F65 colour science in a body that's still smaller than that C700.
-Alexa Mini has a 4:3 sensor, and an Alexa image. No 4k, obviously, but as we all know, not all 4k is created equal. Still a small, light body.
    -Canon has DPAF
Interesting to see how it all pans out. I feel that if an amazing camera like the VaricamLT struggles to gain traction at ~half the price(ish) (assuming the suggested $30k of the C700 is correct), Canon may struggle. But then, perhaps the DPAF is enough to sway some (VLT has EF mount, but no AF).

Its shape reminds me of a xenomorph's head, but not in a good way.
I'm sure this will be a great camera to work with, shoot great images, do the job in many ways, etc, but as with all Canon cameras, the pricing and specs vs. that of its competitors just seem very underwhelming. If I had that sort of money ready to spend, I would choose an Amira

That is great news for F5/55 owners although it is kind of a bummer that you need the pricey and kinda bulky recorder to get that. While the size doesn't matter in normal production environments, it's always a plus if you can strip a camera down for special applications without losing features like this.
Anyway, it's good to see that Sony is getting in on the compressed raw formats so that they will be able to put it into their future cameras, hopefully to mid range/prosumer cams aswell.

Ebrahim, you keep talking about how sad and depressed you are because you have lost your credibility in this community. Why are you not doing anything to gain it back? You are just making yourself look worse and worse everytime you write here because you're not answering anyones questions. At least not the important ones.
If everything you say is true, just provide the evidence that people here want to see and no one would have to be bothered with this anymore.

    Now I am crying.

    Incredible.
I always had the impression Ebrahim Snr was the main user of the account, due to the impressive knowledge, warm and fairness of his comments. It really didn't match this 19 year old beginner/noob thing.
Did Ebrahim really go to all this effort of posting very helpful information for 3 years - just to gain the trust of an online community and scam them for just a bit of money? Baffling. Absolutely baffling.
    I'd do this:
    1. Submit a video message of yourself and your Grandfather together.
    2. Submit some of your portfolio work and any proof of directing credits.
    3. Submit any websites/imagery of your media company - behind the scenes? Projects? Anything?
If I was convicted of being a scammer, I could do all the above in 20 minutes. It would go a long way to actually show us you're a genuine person who is in fact says who he is.
Myself, like most other people, don't want to mix with anybody involved in criminal activity.
All other forum topics are dying because of this thread being stuck at the top. I feel sorry for Andrew. It's not fair.

I agree with Bio. You should definitely learn the basics of color correcting and grading first and play with footage until you get the hang of it. It's a very valuable skill to have when you don't have the budget for a colorist.
As far as plugins go, there are of course lots of opinions on this matter, but I prefer Filmconvert over MagicBullet and such. It is very easy to use on it's own and you can get great looking images when you learn how to use it in combination with all the standard tools you have in FCP.

The camera has 1 S.Bus connection which lets you plug it in to a radio receiver and you can have control over focus, iris, start/stop etc with a much longer range than wi-fi. This way you can control the camera with the same radio controller you use to control the gimbal and that is much better for drone ops than dealing with a phone or a tablet.

skin tones overall are nice!  and stabilization is amazing.
The camera was interesting to use - especially considering that it's a 200 ASA camera and has moire and dynamic range challenges - sometimes this is interesting to have to maximize something with limitations. It's difficult, but I guess it disciplines you.

Few years back when I was using the good old nex7 and was shopping for spare batteries I found out that Sony has this ¨accessory kit¨, that includes a small camerabag and a spare battery. Funny thing is this kit cost me about 30€ when a new battery purchased separately costs about 80€
Don't know if they sell these anywhere but here is a more recent model of the kit on the Sony website, no info about the price though http://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/interchangeable-lens-cameras-accessory-kits/acc-fw1e#reviews_awards_v2_default

Don't love the small gimbal gopro footage I've seen. This could be better for IQ than that easily, but the style is a little weird to me. I was excited when I heard the specs mft 4k raw consumer camera before, picturing a raw gh4, but THIS becomes difficult to use as an actual camera.. not sure about it. I'm sure people will have some fun with it though
