    Try RockyMountains converter.

Creates 6k ProRes files which play smoothly.

The hues won't change but its a good boost, the conversion is yet smoother (gradients)

Another option which might affect hues and even more: precision using luts in Davinci Resolve is 3D Lookup Table Interpolation.
It should be set to Tetrahedral to avoid banding issues...

That's fantastic news! Case study in why updates are vital*
I'll be testing at work tomorrow

@kidzrevil Well thanks for taking a bit to check it out! Convictions often prevent us from even opening the door!
At the end of the day, we are all our own master and commander, and that's for the best.

Apparently there is no OIS on the main camera and EIS is only supported up to 1080p30.  While you could take a crop of the 4k video, theis seems limiting for out of the camera footage.

Sure! And that will help when I revisit Cine-D (I like to collect in-the-field images from everyone to act as a north star, they become part of the reference set)
And if you have true filament tungsten (i.e. halogen, rather than led/flo), that test would be great (in true VLog)

    You shoot raw.
No over processing, because raw isn't processed.
The JPEGs are fine for social media use... But overcooked.

I thought I saw a post showing it was terrible for over sharpening (everything looked painted on when zoomed in). Let me check...
Here it is: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/features/item/22923_By_popular_demand_Nokia_808_Pu.php maybe there has been a firmware update or something to fix it?

We might replace it as well or at least add some additions to it (C200 RAW and Pocket 4K).
    Lenses used were the Sigma 18-35 F1.8 (indeed), 50-100 F1.8 and Tokina 14-20 F2.0

Thanks for all the love so far. Really appreciate it. And sorry for the late replies.

Pre-Production took a few weeks. Uche Aguh wrote it basically while casting and searching for locations to shoot and adjusting the script to it at the same time! I worked on a shotlist, schedule and lighting/equipment.

Production took place nearby Atlanta in a small town called Palmetto. A very eary place tbh. We shot over a time-frame of 11 days. We had a crew of 6 people. Right now we are working on post-production. Some bts pictures can be found here: http://55media.net/portfolio/the-house-invictus/
pushed it up to 6400 in some situations.
I already added some grain. Sadly the internal NR on the GH5 is very strong and smudges lots of low contrast detail and YouTube does the rest... (Waiting for the Pocket 4K)
Here is a link to a higher quality version on vimeo:

Hey, finally done with the trailer to our debut feature film at 55Media shot almost entirely on the Panasonic GH5 (some shots on the GoPro6 and P4P) in just 12 days.
Our best work yet. Movie is still going through post-production.
    Production company: 55Media
    Director/Writer: Uche Aguh
Director of Photography: Dennis Schmitz (me)
    Assistant Director: Ukairo U. Ukairo.

Starring: Jarius Drew Sowells, Kayode Akinyemi, Vincent Ramirez, Thiree Pinnock, Julian Horton, Obum Nwankwo and J Shawn Durham as 'Daddy G'

    Editing done in Premiere.
    Colorgrading done in Davinci Resolve.
Dealing with the usual quirks of this camera, but results are still great.

Wow, this is probably the best looking GH5 footage that I have seen and yes this is definitely better than the original... and that looked great as well.
You’re obviously a very talented and skilled operator and colorist but even with my limited talent and skill, this makes me think that maybe I discounted the GH5 too soon.

Redid the whole colorgrading process in ACES after some tests. Way cleaner than any LUT based workflow in REC709 colorspace I used before!
This is how the movie will look like:

Its not out yet, it'll be going out very soon. Its a major release, with subtle but absolutely vital changes to both LogC and EC. Both are now approaching the point of perfection.
You're right on. A cinema grade should best conform many shots (though not all) by taking the black level to below 5 IRE, per page 8 (resulting in greater contrast). For this video, I wanted to do absolutely nothing
The goal being that if you just shoot without WBing (day preset only for day shots, and no post correction), and don't bother to color grade whatsoever, the new EC will deliver a rock solid internal consistency and flawless color. This is as direct & raw a demonstration of Emotive Color as is possible
Thanks deezid! Present is on the way

    It costs millions.
From what I've seen (first hand experience that is) at several companies it's a two year development cycle at minimum to make a camera.
That's dozens of engineers.  Many iterations of sensor fab customising alone. Not to mention the in-house development costs.
And there's no such thing as off the shelf sensors.  Just ask Apertus. They still haven't made a feasible camera after how many years ?

IMO there are better options available than the expensive blackmagic egpu with an outdated AMD chip. The only reason to pick this is if you have a thunderbold monitor.
NVIDIA should be a better choice for Resolve/Premiere.
