Yep, but the point of the article was that:
    1. The camera is still too expensive for many
    2. The components in the camera are too old and don't really add up to the value of the camera indicating higher profit margins for Canon.
    3. You can already get better quality at a cheaper price point

I decided to go with the a7rIII instead of the A7III.
Other than the availability & megapixels, in video specifically, the main differences were that A7III has worse rolling shutter but is better in low light and has better resolution in FF. That's all I could find really.
I am going to wait until the A7sIII is announced as well (around the time that the A7III would be available anyways) and I might sell the A7rIII for it.

LoL. The new body style is a lot better. I don't think Sony ever designed the A7 series cameras to have a 100-400mm lens or bigger hanging off of them. With a small prime you can stick one in your coat pocket. That is pretty amazing. And with the crop mode in it and Clear Zoom, damn you have like 3 lenses in one using it.

I can tell you as an industry UX Designer there is nothing "light" about this device, other than the obvious stripped down UI. The problem isn't our devices, it's our phycology. The devices exploit our phycology but they aren't the root of that issue, only a side effect, and not the only one. They are a mirror that shows us or tendency to avoid anything painful.
I appreciate what this company is trying to acheive, because I think it's trying to address a real issue. I just don't agree with the approach. It's no different than chaining the refrigerator when your doctor tells you you've been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Sure, you inherently lose weight and reverse the disease, but you have only changed the exterior symptom of a deeper cause. As soon as those chains are released, you're headed for a relapse. You're not addressing the core behavior and what's driving it.
A healthy person would and should be able to have a healthy and balanced relationship with their digital life irregardless of the vehicle they use to acheive it.
I'll let you guys in on an industry secret. Many in my field use devices very little in our personal lives. Maybe it's because we design for them 10 hours a day, but I would be lying if I said part of our job isn't an exploitation of people's insecurities and increasing desire for instant gratification as ordered by business objectives.
Anything used to sooth, hide, aviod, escape negative feelings can become an addiction, smartphones are no exception. What we need (and have) are programs that detox people's addiction to their digital life. The trick here, is not to replace it with another type of addiction.
A good trend that we're seeing in our industry is a push to make technology more automated and "headless", meaning AI anticipates user intent without the user having to interface with a visual UI at all, which translates to no face burried in screen. We're a lot closer to this than the general public is made aware of, meaning it's already here, albeit in unrefined form.
By large, most camera tech is slightly to moderately behind the technology curve. What you're really getting in that brand new shiny camera is already 1-3 years old when it gets released unto the world.

For me mojo would mean a camera that is simple to operate and gets a beautiful image out of the box.
    BMPCC has come the closest.

I am not really sure that is the right way of looking at things. The Sony A7 was launched at US$1700 in October 2013. Today it can be bought from B&H new for US$800. 4 years ago a sub US$1,000 FF new for less than US$1,000 was almost unthinkable. The A7iii is a powerhouse. In most respects it surpasses (imho) the US$3200 Canon 5D MK4 - so you can easily argue it is a bargain.
In fact, in the stills world at least, this makes things fairly tricky for Panasonic, Olympus and Fuji who price their premium models at the same price point but with much smaller sensors. Canon appears to have morphed into a manufacturer of entry level cameras.

As much as I like the idea of having a gadget that can do everything, I do hate the fact that it constantly takes my mind off the present moment. How can I then capture it?
So going on the opposite side an idea like this is more appealing to me:

In fact, cable TV stations here require BBC/EBU standards, and this is the norm in EU, I know because I did sound on a couple of this last year. Most terrestrial channels ask for 4:2:2 8bit, but most of them are not very anal about it (a couple of years ago a C100 was enough), but on another 2 shows on private stations, they requested 10 bit, so we shot with GH5. A few other jobs I did this year needed top specs as well (a feature documentary we shot C300mkII, and a couple of shorts with Ursa mini pro), and this were just medium to low budgeted jobs.
I do not thing that this conversation is relevant here though. Different tools and different needs. The @Alt Shoo expressed his opinion that this specific tool isn't right for his intended use. No one should have been offended by it.
This joke about Soderbergh's film will go on forever I guess. If you feel confident do your work with an iPhone 7+, be my guest, no one will judge you, and I support every artistic choice (my favorite films of all time are Italian neo realistic films and indies of all kinds from around the world), but this is not a serious argument for a dozen of reasons, thoroughly discussed on similar threads, or in all the other threads that this arguments out of the blue appears to bring off topic comments and confusion (e.g the thread about the Canon's, which suddenly became an iPhone Vs all the cameras challenge).
If I cared about photo and video, and I have  to choose between an iPhone 7 or a X-H1, I would choose the latter, in every possible way.

And you will get the opportunity to test the camera with the Swiss sceneries as well!
I am fairly confident you can predict when this will occur, so even if it is not visible in the EVF you can preview the image and reshoot if necessary with a tiny angle adjustment. This is very similar to what Fuji users are doing with the purple grid flare.
The first encounter that I had with digital mass hysteria, was with blooming in the Fuji X10. My favorite Fuji camera ever. And even though you couldn't do anything about it, I didn't mind, I loved the thing. I still wish Fuji revives the line but with the variable magnification OVF and not the EVF.

The article says it is improved but still there   Also, there is another report that X-T20 still has it: https://***URL removed***/forums/thread/4200339?page=2 My guess is that they optimized the coating of the IR filter to reduce flares which in turn can confuse Fuji's demosaicing?
In any case, digital sensors are ... digital so they will always come with some kind of artifact if pushed hard enough. Banding, purple grids, FPN, blooming, PDAF shading, hard clipping, charge overflow, aliasing & moire, jello, green smearing, rf interference, hot/stuck/dead pixels, etc. And I am not even including the artifacts from the processing pipeline.

Yeah, I just read that as well. Nice to have options I guess,  but I still hate the front heavy design. Not to mention the chances of them releasing an actual e-mount native design some later time of course. I was expecting more so I got kind of annoyed they just extended a tube and updated a firmware.

Yep, unfortunately, that is with all current Fuji cameras. A9 has it also and even E-M1 had backlit artifact problems.

I find the FF HD from A7rII much better than D750 as far as resolution goes. The Sony is almost as good as the oversampled image from A7sII in HD.
    24/30 I haven't seen any difference but haven't used the 30p much.

They are kind of a disappointment. They are just extended lenses that are going to be front heavy. It should be far better to get the Nikon/Canon mount with the Sigma adapter. Much easier to sell, and of course use on other cameras.

Even if they are differences they should be fairly minimal.
FF 1080p with A7rII in terms of resolution.
    Same
A7rII is better. Additionally, with good light, you can use the FF 4K mode which has very good rolling shutter performance.
Maybe A6500 is a tiny bit better? I am not sure. A6500 I think also adds sgammut3.cine which imo is the best space to work with.
I am not sure there is a significant difference here either. It should be about an hour or recording for both.

As far as PB test goes, the only thing that changed with the speedbooster was the angle of view, which made the rolling shutter appear smaller. But essentially it should be exactly the same as without the speedbooster.

    1. MB to @jonpais Just because you got canned from being a moderator doesn't mean you all of a sudden have to agree with everyone.
    2. MB to @kisaha If it is passive aggressiveness, flame baiting or just pour wording, I don't know.
    1. I think @Jonpais couldn't guess this newer ingenious thought of you without your direction.
    2. I think @kisaha is extremely impressed with three options that you so generous offer to him.
Trembling because of your psychologistic omnipotence, I dare to say that you need a simply mirror - or that sometimes you sound too mirrorless.

@Mattias Burling I really wonder how I was part of that conversation, and If I have any rights to be offended, by you, PM-ing people calling names on me?!?!
At least, my "fanboism" ( I wonder to whom? To a dead as a Dodo camera system? Even your "accusation" is ridiculous) is happening in front of everyone and not behind personal messages and firewalls.
This is a sad story written by a sad individual.
I would say we need a new Fuji X-H1 thread, about that said camera, and not people's psychological issues. The camera will be out soon and we do not need all this white noise.
