@Vesku where are you seeing auto iso in M?
"GH5 becomes the first Panasonic to allow the use of Auto ISO in manual exposure mode. It also maintains exposure compensation when doing so. This is true for both stills and video....you can now set the minimum shutter speed threshold before the camera raises ISO"

That could be a digital ISO @Vesku ie: ISO 200 pulled one stop. What is the "L." in "L.100" - does that stand for low or something?
Cellulite!
L.100iso mean it is "extended iso" low. Same as in GH4 photo mode. It means GH5 can use extended iso 25600 too for video.

GH5 NEW FEATURES! (I have asked most of them for years, thanks Panasonic)
-auto iso in M with EV comp and with auto iso range setting.
-min shutter speed limit.
-iso100 for video!
-folder and file custom naming
-the whole camera status save/load option to SD card (ability to share settings between GH5s)

I did.
Gain/Iso happens after light has been captured. So it has 0 effect on light.
With lower iso you can use more light. With iso100 you can put 4 times light to sensor compared to iso400. It means less "shot noise".

What are you talking about?
Think about it.

Iso 100 has nothing to do with noise....... Noise comes from a camera sensor being starved of "light"........ You can shoot at 3200+ iso and if your sensor has light it will look better than shooting at 100 iso in the dark.........
So to clarify a camera with an HIGHER iso rating is actually much better in regards to sensitivity of light than one rated lower..... Iso 400 is much better than iso 100....
With iso100 and right exposure the camera gets more light to sensor than with higher isos.
When you rise iso the NR starts to soften details. In GH4 even iso400 is softer than iso200.
GH5 has iso200, not starting at iso400.
GH5 also does not show exposure info when using auto exposure. Nick Driftwood said that in a GH5 chat. I hope they will fix it for final FW.
GH5 has auto iso in M with EV comp but it wont show what iso it is using. Weird?
GH5 will show exposure info in 5.2k video. Makes no sense.

I wonder why these cameras cant have iso100 for video. It would be good for noise and for keeping shutter speed lower or aperture bigger in daylight. GH5 seems to have starting iso400!!

Mine starts at ISO 400, 200 isn't even an option.
Are you sure GH5 has no iso200 for video? Iso400 would be too noisy and very odd too.
Is the GH5 showing all exposure values when using video modes A,S,P and auto iso. Can you check? it takes few seconds.

Iso400? Is it with V-log or normal profiles?
How about exposure info in automatic modes?

It seems a little better. Base ISO is 400 I think, so maybe you're actually losing some by going higher?
I thought iso200 is the base iso?
Is the GH5 showing all exposure values when using video modes A,S,P and auto iso. GH4 and all other Panasonic cameras are not showing all automatic exposure values in video. In photos yes and in 4k photo video yes but in actual video modes no.

Someone with a GH5?
Is it showing all exposure values when using video modes A,S,P and auto iso. GH4 and all other Panasonic camera are not showing all automatic exposure values.
GH5 has finally auto iso in M with EV comp in video, maybe they corrected showing exposure values too.

I think the video quality and noise is best when shooting 18Mpixel video and then down sample it in post to what ever needed. We can use better NR and down sample methods from 100% sensor source.

Oversize sensor on picture does mean it has 6000 pixel on width?
it made 6K photo @6000x3000 !
but as 4:3 still image unused 100% width aspect.i guess.
6000x3000 was just a marketing trick. It only means that 6k photo is about 18Mpixel with different aspect ratios. It is actually 4.5k - 5.2k

Where did you actually saw six thousand dots??
You created lots of confusion by saying that.

4k Photo has 16:9, why not 6k photo?

GH5 will produce very nice 4k video when shooted in 6k video mode. It leaves room for post stabilization and re-framing for 4k. The down sampling from 6k is also improving 4k quality.

I think the 400Mbs is 4k all-i like it was 200Mbs 1080P in GH4. All-i is practically the same as MJPG.
Panasonic current 4k 60P camcorders has 150Mbs h.264. I think it is OK for 4k 30P 10bit and 4k 60P 8bit.

My opinion is that Panasonic colors are accurate and close to what an eye sees. Usually no need to add red. Canon colors are too sweet and warm and little unrealistic.

The aperture is not moving in photo mode until you take the final image. It stays fully open for focusing. If you use manual photo mode (M) and "Constant preview" from custom menu the aperture changes when composing an image. The "Constant preview" is always ON in video mode.
Can this be your issue?
Can I ask is there aperture auto exposure stepping with Pana lenses when using video mode S in GX85?
