I just asked Philip Bloom on FB what his choice would be between the A7RII and A7SII, he says the A7RII is better than the A7SII, with slightly inferior lowlight performance. This was his actual comment :
 

I feel like ES should be given a new tag or a message in his signature warning people that the content of his posts may contain fiction, with a link to this thread. A lot of less experienced people visit this site for advice, myself included, and anyone finding a thread here after some Googling would see a highly rated member and assume their opinion to be of value.

I think there are valuable lessons that have been learnt in this thread and that it should not be deleted when the items have been refunded.
ES deserves for his name to be immortalised as a scammer because it is very likely that he will find other ways to scam people in the future and hopefully the presence of this thread in the search engines may protect his potential victims in the future.

I have monitored this every day read every post and I have left it all running while Andrew has been away filming,
I think the forum handled it very well , we have all been lied to over a long period of time by the highest rated member on the forum ,
A crime has been comitted with a web of lies and forum member are victims of this crime.
ES has no loyalty to EOSHD or its members we are all pawns to his game , he didn't care who he scammed the money from.
I would ban him with out hesitation.  everyone scammed MUST be refunded asap.
An example must be shown we will not tolerate this on the forum we all love and contribute so much to.

Aputure FineHD VS-2 is even cheaper, and is a greater than FHD monitor. 

But a BMD VA is a solid choice too.

if you can spend more than a SmallHD 502 would be ideal.

Consider the Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC instead, as the versatility in going from 15 to 30mm will be worth it, plus it is just as fast at f2.8

I didnt see it that way at the time.
I just saw it as a way to intimidate a criminal and to make sure a pathological liar did something he promised to do.  I.E. I didn't trust him that he would refund the buyers.
I honestly started it cause i thought one of the posters was going to beat him up

Nothing...except that devious facebook message. And the crime itself. But no, you're right, there's nothing at all to indicate that. Con artists/sociopaths commit their crimes for the thrill, not money. And compulsive liars, con artists, sociopaths, serial killers will say/do anything to remove suspicion from themselves. You know what one of the Hillside Stranglers did when his wife got suspicious of him? He pretended to have cancer. He didn't just say he had cancer, he would have his wife drop him off at the hospital, go in without her, wander around for 8 hours, steal medications and medical forms and forge documents. He did this for over a year. The guy the movie "I Love You Philip Morris" is based on successfully faked dying of AIDS to escape from prison. You guys can believe and trust Ebrahim, or whoever is posing as him if you want, but I don't. 

That's what I'm saying. This guy is a pro scammer. This obviously isn't his first rodeo so this is why we need to not let this guy go becasue he's supposedly depressed. He just wants us to get off his back so he can clear his name and scam more people. 

So, you don't understand that by sending messages agreeing to a deal and giving instructions on how to pay for that deal, then receiving the money for that deal but knowingly not upholding your end of the deal is fraud and theft... Both considered crimes by every society in the civilized world since tribes were trading in cashews? You don't understand that? Seriously?! Close your eyes and put your grandfather on. Now open them so we can speak to your logical side. 

Get a used Panasonic GH2 and practice your craft until you reach 10,000 hours

First of all, really sorry for what has happened here. I'm still catching up on things, as I am literally in the middle of nowhere shooting in Italy.
I am going to investigate at my end and be of any assistance the best I can.

This is getting boring now. The truth of the matter is this... 
ES LIED. The burden of proof is on him. And until he proves otherwise, which is actually quite simple. Show a video of the elder and younger ES and a copy of the Police Report that they have claimed to have filed. 
Until those simple deeds are done, all of the facts point that the elder ES does not exist in the capacity that was represented on this forum and ES needs to do the proper thing to make it right. 
Timotheus and Tomas trusted ES based upon his long track record and high rating on this site. If he was honest from the onset, his rating may have not been so high because his supposed resume wouldn't have led people to believe what he was preaching was a hundred percent accurate. 
Just because Timotheus and Tomas should not have fallen for the oldest African Western Union scam in the book, doesn't let ES off the hook.
This is still a crime.
Since ES is located in a 3rd world country with more problems to deal with than $600, there is little to be done to get there money back, unless ES does the admirable thing. Timotheus has already stated that he was contacted by ES to somehow make things right. Although I still highly doubt he has owned up to anything. 
If he does, great. That is the respectable, honorable and manly thing to do. He speaks of respect, let's see if he lives by those words. 
If anyone wants to believe his previous posts were "beautiful" by all means... Everyone is entitled to their opinion... I believe they are lies filled with half truths designed to uphold a fictitious persona.
I believe the kid has mental issues and I wish him all the luck in the world. I would love to see his work with whatever camera he does actually own... It may be genius.
For now, I'd rather go back to my theory that the elder and younger ES were abducted by the aliens that built the pyramids and after the prodding and probing they put alien filmmaker DNA into the grandson's body... But not enough money to afford the taxes for a 1dC. 

First up I HATE Jitters - I have seen demos from operators who call themselves "Cinematographers" that are filled with lazy handheld jitter shots (usually wide open on a 25 - 50mm lens)  - So anything to get ride of them is good.
 
Secondly I really dislike unmotivated camera movement - slides just because you can etc etc I understand how handheld has a limited place because you are going for a "being there" dramatic feeling or a POV look.
Handheld in Run and Gun docos is OK where you are in an uncontrolled environment - The monopod gives you the handheld look without the jitters - I can go monopod free as I use an IS 12-35mm set up - but the monopod keeps the framing more considered and accurate. 
Each to their own i suppose - personally i found the shoulder rigs limited my style as they are terrible once you start walking - they transfer motion from shoulders (and your hips going with the tripod waist mount set up) - I have had so much footage from "traditional camera operators" who think its ok to walk with a camera on their shoulders - it totally ruins the shot. With the monopod i can use it as a semi steadicam and get a floaty shot if i have to start taking steps (in the absence of a controlled steadicam shot - which I will use if there is some control over the shooting situation (i usually have a separate dedicated gh3/ steadicam ready to go for these shots leaning up on a wall nearby)
Also Not a huge fan of gimbals as they tend to have robotic corrections in the movement - Surely I am not the only person to notice this? 
A balanced small steadicam  has a much more organic movement and is much easier on the body to operate. 
So i guess i am just warning some operators looking to find a functional solution that shoulder rigs aren't necessarily the answer to everything - and in many cases are more limited that they are promoted to be. The monopod has proven itself to pack a real punch in the simplicity / productivity stakes.
Looks and presentation on set will become increasingly important as clients  become more "executive"- (this is a natural part of your evolution as a video producer and business operator)  I dearly love my GH4  (especially the liberating small footprint) and have rigged it up a little bit  - more for client impression than functional reasons ( The basic matte box / flag / rails  trick works wonders) - Most clients just dont understand how sweet the little GH4 with good lenses performs and will judge the size of the camera. With the matte box on there I don't get asked why I am not shooting on a proper video camera !
I do respect that this may not be the case on narrative shoots or low budget production when you just need to achieve the result you need with limited resources. Sorry about the disrespectful "looks ridiculous" comment! 

The big thing i also learned is yes...dont trust always what people tell you. You have to really trust your own eyes.
Cml... cinematography mailing list and cinematography.com and american cinematographer have real dps telling you what they do.
Colorist forums like liftgammagain also the same.
Dslr forums and dvxuser and reduser dont have as many working professionals. So take what they say with a grain of salt.
You can trust certain peoples opinions and sometimes not.
Like a dp i really respected lead me down a rabbits hole.
So trust your gut and always do your own tests!! My own tests are many times flawed.
So of course as most of you know...never trust what my likes or taste are either.  I am a weirdo.

Ok, if that's true, then a light meter has a setting for film/sensor size. But it doesn't. So no sensor size does not affect lowlight.
If true, a printed magazine cover gets darker when you cut it with scissors.
Depth of field stays the same. Exposure stays the same. Focal length stays the same.

Did a reverse google image search of it, nothing showed up unfortunately.
I had always assumed Senior was so old he might be semi retired, and thus had plenty of spare time, and Junior was at school and thus also had a fair amount of time on his hands to post to forums. 
People have pulled off selling RED cameras with much smaller forum profile than they had, so I think if the intent had been to pull off a grand scam to bank big on, I'm sure it could've been done instead and long ago. 

So it doesn't make any sense to put in all that effort over years and years purely just to make a couple of thousand.
