  1. I use that and a Tiffen ND, I'm no expert but really both seem good. I use AutoWB and it compensates for any issues if there are any. Only get into trouble doing manual WB. If you want to slow 60 down to 30 just keep double the fps as the shutter, ie. 1/120. 180fps would be 1/360. Shooting 1/40 for 25fps at night looks great though.
  2. It really is super having the wider range of the PL12-60. Balances well on the zhiyun gimbal. I have the Syrp super dark variable for it but I suspect the Fritz option is better. The super dark covers super bright conditions but is too much for dusk.
  3. Also, add an item to your custom menu called "Constant Preview". This needs to be ON most of the time. When shooting in very low light (long exposures) you turn it off.
  4. I think your ratio is backwards, you're on 10:90
  5. Mmm, I actually meant to imply a universal "you" and not you specifically. Indeed the article made me think about what right wing news sources I was reading similarly biased in the opposite direction. It was a very long article you linked to and it took a while to read it all (I presumed it was important as you had linked it). I found it mostly rubbish due to the lack of humility regarding the well known Soros funding situations. Don't you (specifically) think the current dichotomy of the media and everyone else is getting too ridiculous? When someone comes along and says, "actually, most people mean well and make small mistakes, just like you" it's a breath of fresh air. incense
  6. "The newspaper's reputation as a platform for liberal and left-wing editorial has led to the use of the "Guardian reader" and "Guardianista" as often (but not always) pejorative epithets for those of left-leaning or politically correct tendencies." There's more than enough material out there to feed your own neuroses.
  7. There's an ibis firmware upgrade for it just now isn't there?
  8. Maybe wait for the PL50-200 2.8-4 ? Not sure when that might be though. Depends on the range you need covered if comparing to PL12-60 (oly further), cost (oly 300 more), and weight (oly 561g vs pana 320g), and the look. The pany is super stabilised.

    gx85 to gh5?

I'm missing half the phone call here. Are you not shooting photos? I thought you said something about photos. For video on the GH5 I am in a custom video mode manual, usually with auto iso set from 200 to 1600, shutter angle set to 180 degrees. In bright conditions I lock to iso 200 and use the ND filter. And if you're talking about video on the gx85 I hope you're using cine D to get the most DR

    gx85 to gh5?

The shutter speed should appear when you half press the shutter and will display for 5 or 10 seconds after you take a photo too.
  11. MFR # DMW-SFU1-VLOG There is only one world-wide manufacturer code for this. For the first 4 months the same item was listed as GH4 only. You'd think they could come up with a better code than SFU.
  12. There is only one code for the GH4/GH5 and it is regionless - can use from anywhere.
  13. If it's working fine then probably best to not update though, as always a possibility with these things that they change out components randomly.
  14. https://www.fastpictureviewer.com/codecs/ works really well. Worth it. See thumbnails for all files from GH5. File names: don't use custom file names on GH5 (at the moment), use default or it will reset numbers each time you format or change cards.
  15. I'm using one of these at the moment in addition to the 128GB UHS-i cards. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1275619-REG/sandisk_sdsdxpk_064g_ancin_extreme_pro_uhs_ii_64gb.html Makes a big difference clearing the buffer twice as fast on photos. The Panasonic ones are a bit pricey. Here are some alternatives https://alikgriffin.com/best-memory-cards-panasonic-gh5/
  16. I presume it's just rotational play not off axis. This is not uncommon across all camera systems and will not affect the image.
  17. When I click on NFS articles on facebook, and I'm on a tablet, the browser gets replaced with an iphone ad saying I've won a chance to spend money. You can't dismiss it. Pretty annoying.
  18. Still repeating it? Answer is still the same, out for at least 4 months now.
  19. Haha, you should try it. Seriously, go film some stuff, import it, see what happens. Enjoy.
  20. Shooting at 1/500 of a second, FHD 60p
  21. This reduces background pulsing while holding focus. Oh I hope people don't repeat those inane head pop up videos - nothing to do with it.
  22. Just edited my post. Yes, I think the ibis behaviour seems a bit more consistent between vertical and horizontal axis. iphonedo mentioned it in his review and I tested it myself. It wasn't quite as bad as he indicated but it was there. Just wandering around the house now. I'd say it was better, yes. I get the feeling that with some added weight and/or width with handles it will look pretty groovy. It "feels" smoother but hard to quantify. Maybe someone can do a bit of a walk, update, then repeat the walk exactly the same. :p I tested the AF stability and while "tracking" mode was a bit dodgy, the "1-area" mode is very nice and has a good "locked down" response, ie. with the 1-area box on my face, the background doesn't pulse now. Again, this isn't about focus acquisition, it is getting that achieved focus more stable.
